## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Korea Flood-Damaged Car Check by Plate (침수차 조회)

Check **South Korean license plates against the official flood-damage insurance records** and find out whether a car was a **flood total loss** (침수전손) or had **partial flood damage** (침수분손) — with the accident date. Data comes from the Financial Services Commission's flood-damaged vehicle check (금융위원회 침수차량진위확인), compiled by the Korea Insurance Development Institute (보험개발원), and is refreshed daily.

**No API key or Korean account needed.** Paste plate numbers, get English JSON.

### Typical uses

- **Used-car exporters and importers** — screen Korean used cars before buying for export (Central Asia, Middle East, Africa, Latin America).
- **Auction buyers, dealers and inspectors** — add a flood check to every vehicle report.
- **Marketplaces and lenders** — flag flood-damaged cars in listings or before financing.
- **AI agents** — "Was the Korean car 12가3456 ever flooded?"

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `plates` | Korean plate numbers, e.g. `12가3456`, `123가4567`, `서울12가3456`. Spaces and hyphens are ignored. Up to 1,000 per run. |

```json
{ "plates": ["66우3717", "12가3456"] }
```

### Output

One item per plate:

```json
{
  "input": "66우3717",
  "plate": "66우3717",
  "status": "flood_record_found",
  "floodRecord": true,
  "records": [
    { "damageType": "total_loss", "damageTypeKo": "침수전손", "accidentDate": "2026-08-17", "accidentDateTime": "2026-08-17 06:00:00" }
  ],
  "dataAsOf": "2026-10-05",
  "coverageNote": "Covers vehicles with an insurance claim for flood damage ...",
  "source": "Financial Services Commission (금융위원회) flood-damaged vehicle check ...",
  "checkedAt": "2026-10-06T07:00:00+00:00"
}
```

| `status` | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `flood_record_found` | At least one flood-damage insurance record exists for this plate. |
| `no_record` | No flood insurance claim on file for this plate. |
| `invalid_input` | Not a Korean plate format (free). |
| `lookup_failed` | The official source did not answer; retry later (free). |

`damageType`: `total_loss` (insurer paid the car as a total loss due to flooding) or `partial_damage` (insurer paid for flood repairs).

### Important: what "no record" means

The records cover **vehicles with an insurance claim for flood damage** (own-damage cover). A car that was flooded but **uninsured, or repaired without a claim, is not in the data**. Records are matched by the **current plate number** (현재차량번호) as held by the insurers. Use this as one signal in a vehicle check, not as proof that a car was never flooded.

### Pricing

Pay per plate checked: **$0.002 per plate** (`plate-check`), whether or not a record is found — a clean result is also an answer. Invalid inputs and failed lookups are free.
