## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Clutch.co Scraper: B2B Agencies, Ratings & Reviews

Scrape **B2B service providers from Clutch.co**: web and app developers, marketing and design agencies, IT consultants and more. Paste any Clutch directory page (with your filters) and get each company's **rating, reviews count, hourly rate, minimum project size, employees, location, phone, website and service mix**. Turn on **Profile details** for the full description, founding year, street address, services offered and certifications, and add **client reviews** with project size, budget, timeline, reviewer role and detailed ratings.

No login, no browser. Pay only per company and per review delivered.

### What you can paste

- **Lead generation**: build lists of agencies by service, country and size, with websites and phone numbers.

- **Vendor selection**: shortlist providers by verified reviews, budget fit and client feedback.
- **Market analysis**: hourly rates and project budgets by location and service.

### How to use

1. Open Clutch, pick a category and filters, and copy the URL. Or paste profile URLs.
2. Set **Max companies per directory URL**.
3. Optional: turn on **Profile details** and set **Max reviews per company**.
4. Run, then open the **Companies** or **Reviews** view.

#### Example input

```json
{
  "startUrls": ["https://clutch.co/web-developers", "https://clutch.co/uk/agencies/seo"],
  "maxCompaniesPerUrl": 100,
  "scrapeProfiles": true,
  "maxReviewsPerCompany": 10
}
```

### Pricing

- **Company**: charged per company record, with or without profile details.
- **Review**: a lower price per review.

No start fee. Pages that fail are reported as `error` records and are **not charged**.

### Tips and limits

- Clutch shows about 50 companies per directory page; sponsored placements are marked with `isSponsored`.
- Websites are cleaned of Clutch tracking parameters.
- Clutch blocks datacenter IPs, so the actor uses residential proxy by default.

### FAQ

**Do I need a Clutch account?** No.

**Is it legal?** The actor reads public company pages and reviews that Clutch shows to every visitor. Use the data in line with Clutch terms and data protection rules.

**Something missing?** Open an issue on the Issues tab and I will look at it.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Directory pages (https://clutch.co/web-developers, https://clutch.co/us/agencies/digital-marketing, https://clutch.co/developers/react-native), with any filters set on Clutch, or company profiles (https://clutch.co/profile/...).
