## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Pinterest Scraper: Search, Boards, Profiles & Videos

Scrape **Pinterest pins** by keyword, board, profile or pin URL. You get the title, description, **full-size image**, **video URL**, outbound link, saves, reactions, and board and pinner info. Search all pins or **video pins only**.

No Pinterest account, no login, no browser. Fast and cheap: you pay only per pin delivered.

### What you can scrape

| Input | Example | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| **Search keywords** | `cozy bedroom ideas` | Pins from Pinterest search, same order as on the site |
| **Video search** | Search for: Video pins | Video pins with the video stream URL and duration |
| **Board URL** | `pinterest.com/teakandthyme/christmas-cookies/` | All pins on the board |
| **Profile URL** | `pinterest.com/teakandthyme/` | Pins created by that user |
| **Pin URL** | `pinterest.com/pin/ID/` | One pin with full details |
| **Search URL** | `pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=cat` | Same as a keyword |

### Output fields

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `pinId`, `url` | Pin ID and link |
| `title`, `description`, `altText`, `hashtags` | Text of the pin |
| `imageUrl`, `imageWidth`, `imageHeight`, `dominantColor` | Original full-size image |
| `isVideo`, `videoUrl`, `videoDurationSeconds` | Video pins (HLS / MP4 stream) |
| `outboundLink`, `domain`, `productName` | Where the pin links to (blog, shop, product) |
| `saves`, `reactionCount`, `commentCount` | Engagement (saves are available for board and profile pins) |
| `createdAt` | When the pin was created |
| `boardName`, `boardUrl` | Board the pin is saved to |
| `pinnerUsername`, `pinnerName`, `pinnerUrl`, `pinnerFollowers` | Who pinned it |
| `isPromoted` | Promoted (ad) pin |
| `source`, `sourceType` | Which keyword or URL found it |

### Use cases

- **Trend and niche research**: see what is popular for any keyword, including seasonal trends.
- **Content and design inspiration**: collect full-size images and videos for mood boards.
- **E-commerce and affiliate research**: find which shops and blogs get pinned, with outbound links.
- **Competitor monitoring**: track the boards and pins of brands and creators.
- **AI and image datasets**: images with titles, descriptions and alt text.

### How to use

1. Add **Search keywords** and/or **Pinterest URLs**.
2. Choose **Search for**: all pins or video pins.
3. Set **Max pins per keyword / URL**.
4. Run. Each pin is one dataset record; duplicates across sources are removed.

#### Example input

```json
{
  "searchQueries": ["cozy bedroom ideas", "christmas cookies"],
  "searchType": "pins",
  "startUrls": ["https://www.pinterest.com/teakandthyme/christmas-cookies/"],
  "maxPinsPerSource": 200
}
```

#### Example output

```json
{
  "pinId": "3091271767667529344",
  "url": "https://www.pinterest.com/pin/3091271767667529344/",
  "title": "Ferrero Rocher Blossom Cookies",
  "imageUrl": "https://i.pinimg.com/originals/...jpg",
  "imageWidth": 1000,
  "imageHeight": 1500,
  "isVideo": false,
  "outboundLink": "https://teakandthyme.com/ferrero-rocher-blossom-cookies/",
  "saves": 29,
  "reactionCount": 4,
  "boardName": "Christmas Cookies",
  "pinnerUsername": "teakandthyme",
  "pinnerFollowers": 21631,
  "source": "https://www.pinterest.com/teakandthyme/christmas-cookies/",
  "sourceType": "board"
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per pin delivered. Proxies and compute are included.

### Notes

- Pinterest search returns a few hundred pins per keyword; use several related keywords for more.
- Pins seen without an account have long IDs starting with `e1_`. These links open normally on Pinterest.
- Saves counts are not shown in Pinterest search results, so `saves` is filled for board and profile pins.

### FAQ

**Do I need a Pinterest account?** No.

**Something broke?** Open an issue on the Issues tab and it will be fixed quickly.
