## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## StepStone Jobs Scraper: Germany & Austria Job Ads

Scrape **job ads from StepStone Germany (stepstone.de) and StepStone Austria (stepstone.at)**. Search by keyword and location or paste StepStone URLs, filter by date, home office, contract type, salary and quick apply. Every job comes with title, company, location, **salary range** (StepStone's estimate or the employer's figure), **home office** option, posted and expiry dates and a summary. With **job details** on, you also get the **full description split into tasks, requirements, benefits and contact**, contract type, work type, industry, address and **e-mails written in the ad**.

No login, no browser. Pay only per job delivered.

### What you can paste

- **Keywords**: `Data Analyst`, `Pflegefachkraft`, `Python Entwickler`, `SAP Berater`
- **Locations**: `Berlin`, `München`, `Hamburg`, `Wien`
- **StepStone URLs**:
  - `https://www.stepstone.de/jobs/data-analyst/in-berlin?radius=30`
  - `https://www.stepstone.de/jobs/in-hamburg?wp=611350` (remote jobs in Hamburg)
  - `https://www.stepstone.at/jobs/projektmanager/in-wien`
  - job pages ending in `-inline.html`

### What you get

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `jobId`, `globalId`, `title`, `url` | 13912277, Data Science Engineer/Analyst Aerospace (m/w/d) |
| `company`, `companyId`, `companyUrl`, `companyLogo` | Sopra Steria, 3313 |
| `location`, `postalCode` | Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, München |
| `homeOffice` | partial (`none`, `partial` or `full`) |
| `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryPeriod`, `salaryCurrency`, `salaryIsEstimate` | 73000, 110000, Annually, EUR, true |
| `postedAt`, `expiresAt` | 2026-10-12T15:03:04Z, 2027-04-10T14:10:38Z |
| `snippet`, `labels`, `isSponsored`, `isTopJob` | short summary, \["Anschreiben nicht erforderlich"] |
| `description`, `descriptionHtml` | full job description (job details) |
| `introduction`, `tasks`, `requirements`, `benefits`, `contact` | the ad's sections as plain text |
| `contractType`, `workType`, `employmentType`, `industry` | Feste Anstellung, Vollzeit, FULL_TIME, Marketing |
| `streetAddress`, `city`, `addressPostalCode`, `country` | Berlin, DE |
| `emails`, `directApply`, `language`, `isOnline` | contacts written in the ad |

Fields StepStone does not show for a job are `null`. `salaryIsEstimate: true` means StepStone's own salary estimate, not the employer's figure.

### Use cases

- **Recruitment agencies and B2B sales**: see who is hiring in Germany and Austria, for which roles and where, with contact e-mails from the ads.
- **Job boards and aggregators**: fresh German-speaking jobs in one consistent schema.
- **Salary and labour market research**: salary ranges and home-office share by role and city, tracked over time.
- **Job seekers**: daily alerts with your own filters.

### How to use

1. Add keywords and locations, or paste StepStone search URLs.
2. Optionally filter by **Posted within**, **Home office**, **Contract type**, **Min annual salary** and **Radius**.
3. Set **Max jobs per search** and run. Each job is one dataset record.

#### Example input

```json
{
  "searchQueries": ["Data Analyst", "Business Analyst"],
  "locations": ["Berlin", "München"],
  "radius": 30,
  "datePosted": "7",
  "workArrangements": ["remote", "hybrid"],
  "includeDetails": true,
  "maxJobsPerSearch": 200
}
```

### Pricing

- **Job**: charged per job saved to the dataset, job details included. Searches that fail or find nothing are reported as `error` records and are **not charged**.

### Tips and limits

- StepStone applies the **Home office** filter only to keyword searches on stepstone.de, not to location-only searches or stepstone.at. Every job still has its own `homeOffice` field.
- Only StepStone's main results are returned; the "similar jobs" it adds below small result lists are skipped.
- Use **Schedules** in Apify Console with **Posted within: Last 24 hours** for a daily feed of new jobs.
- Turn off **Include job details** for a faster list without descriptions.

### FAQ

**Is it legal?** The actor reads public job ads that employers publish for job seekers. Use the data in line with StepStone's terms and data protection rules (GDPR), especially for contact details.

**Does it work for other StepStone countries?** Germany and Austria are supported. Paste a stepstone.de or stepstone.at URL, or pick the site.

**Something missing?** Open an issue on the Issues tab and I will look at it.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

Job titles, skills or companies, e.g. 'Pflegefachkraft', 'Python Entwickler', 'SAP'. Leave empty to get all jobs in the locations below.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Site for keyword searches. URLs below use their own site.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional. Search pages like https://www.stepstone.de/jobs/data-analyst/in-berlin?radius=30 (filters in the URL are kept), company job lists, or job pages ending in -inline.html.

## `radius` (type: `integer`):

Optional. Distance around the location, e.g. 10, 30, 50.

## `datePosted` (type: `string`):

Only jobs published in this period.

## `workArrangements` (type: `array`):

Optional. StepStone applies this filter to keyword searches on stepstone.de; every job also has its own homeOffice field (none / partial / full) you can filter on.

## `contractTypes` (type: `array`):

Optional.

## `minSalary` (type: `integer`):

Optional, in EUR, e.g. 50000. StepStone filters by its salary estimate.
