## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Threads Scraper: Posts, Replies, Search & Profiles

Scrape **Threads (threads.com)** with **no login and no browser**. Get posts from any **public profile**, **search results** for a keyword, **single posts with their replies**, and **profile info** (followers, bio, bio links, verified flag). Every post comes with text, date, **likes, replies, reposts, quotes and shares**, images, videos, link preview, mentions and links.

It reads the same public data the logged-out Threads web app loads, so results are fast and complete. Pay only per post delivered.

### What you can paste

- Usernames: `zuck`, `@mosseri`
- Profile links: `https://www.threads.com/@zuck` (threads.net links work too)
- Post links: `https://www.threads.com/@zuck/post/DeZtp-TkQHh` (the post plus its replies)
- Keywords in **Search keywords**: `self publishing`, `AI agents`

### What you get

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `type`, `source` | post / reply, profile / search / post / replies |
| `postId`, `code`, `url` | 4006434140014576097, DeZtp-TkQHh |
| `username`, `fullName`, `isVerified`, `userId`, `profilePicUrl` | zuck, Mark Zuckerberg, true |
| `text`, `createdAt` | post text, 2026-10-12T16:56:29+00:00 |
| `likeCount`, `replyCount`, `repostCount`, `quoteCount`, `shareCount` | 2090, 468, 166, 59, 142 |
| `mediaType`, `images`, `videos` | text / image / video / carousel, media URLs |
| `linkPreview`, `links`, `mentions`, `tags` | links and @mentions in the post |
| `isReply`, `replyToUsername`, `parentPostUrl` | reply context |
| `quotedPostUrl`, `repostOfUrl`, `isPinned`, `isEdited`, `isPaidPartnership` | post context |

With **Include profile info** you also get one record per profile (`type: "profile"`): `username`, `fullName`, `followerCount`, `biography`, `bioLinks`, `isVerified`, `profilePicUrl`.

### Use cases

- **Social listening and brand monitoring**: what people say about a topic or brand on Threads.
- **Influencer research**: followers, posting frequency and engagement per post before you reach out.
- **Competitor tracking**: schedule a daily run on competitor profiles with **Posted after**.
- **Audience research**: replies under a viral post show real questions and objections.
- **AI and RAG**: clean post text for sentiment, topic clustering and LLM pipelines.

### How to use

1. Add usernames, profile links or post links, and/or search keywords.
2. Set **Max posts per profile** and **Max replies per post**.
3. Optionally set **Posted after** and turn on **Include profile info**.
4. Run. Each post or reply is one dataset record.

#### Example input

```json
{
  "startUrls": ["zuck", "https://www.threads.com/@zuck/post/DeZtp-TkQHh"],
  "searchQueries": ["self publishing"],
  "maxPostsPerProfile": 100,
  "maxRepliesPerPost": 100,
  "includeProfileInfo": true
}
```

### Pricing

- **Post**: charged per post or reply saved to the dataset.
- **Profile info**: charged per profile record, only when **Include profile info** is on.

Sources that fail (profile not found, private, post removed) are reported as `error` records and are **not charged**.

### Limits

- Without login Threads shows about **20 top posts per search keyword**. Add more keywords to collect more.
- Private profiles are not available.

### FAQ

**Do I need a Threads or Instagram account?** No. Only public data that Threads shows to logged-out visitors is collected.

**Is it legal?** It collects publicly available posts. Make sure your use complies with the Threads terms and the data protection rules that apply to you, especially for personal data.

**Something missing?** Open an issue on the Issues tab and I will look at it.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Usernames (zuck, @zuck), profile links (threads.com/@zuck) or post links (threads.com/@zuck/post/CODE). A post link returns the post and its replies.

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

Optional. Top Threads posts for each keyword (about 20 per keyword, the amount Threads shows without login).

## `maxPostsPerProfile` (type: `integer`):

Newest posts first (pinned posts may come first).

## `maxRepliesPerPost` (type: `integer`):

For post links. 0 = only the post itself.

## `postedAfter` (type: `string`):

Optional YYYY-MM-DD. Stop at older profile posts and skip older search results.

## `includeProfileInfo` (type: `boolean`):

Add one record per profile: full name, followers, bio, bio links, verified flag, avatar.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many posts and replies in total. 0 = no limit.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify datacenter proxy works well.

## `maxRetries` (type: `integer`):

Retries with a fresh proxy IP before a source is reported as failed.

}
```
# Actor output Schema
