## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Autocomplete Scraper: keyword ideas from 7 engines

Get **real search suggestions** for any keyword from 7 autocomplete sources in one run: **Google, YouTube, Google Shopping, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo and Wikipedia**. Each seed keyword is expanded with **A–Z, 0–9, question words and prepositions**. The Actor then shows which ideas appear on **several engines**, a strong sign of real demand.

**Why this one:**

- **$0.25 per 1,000 suggestions.** No start fee, no monthly rent. A typical run ("coffee maker", A–Z + questions, 4 engines) gives about 1,800 suggestions for about $0.45.
- **7 sources in one run.** Each engine keeps its own ranking (`position`), and Google adds its `relevance` score and suggestion `type`.
- **Cross-engine ideas and top questions** are in the `SUMMARY` record and the run's status message. That makes it ready for content briefs, FAQ sections and AI agents.
- **Any language and country** (`language`, `country`). Question and preposition expansions are available in English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese and Italian.
- **Fast:** about 11 seconds for 1,800 suggestions.

### Use cases

- **SEO keyword research:** long-tail ideas and the questions people ask, for blog posts and FAQ sections.
- **YouTube topics:** what people type into YouTube search, kept separate from Google.
- **Amazon/e-commerce copy:** Google Shopping suggestions show product-intent phrases ("coffee maker grinder combo", "coffee maker under $50").
- **PPC:** new keywords and negative-keyword candidates.
- **Content and AI pipelines:** feed the cross-engine list to an LLM to draft outlines. Pair it with the [Google Trends Scraper](https://apify.com/kuezi/google-trends-scraper) to check which ideas are growing.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `keywords` | Seed keywords. |
| `engines` | `google`, `youtube`, `google_shopping`, `bing`, `duckduckgo`, `yahoo`, `wikipedia` (default: google, youtube, bing, google_shopping). |
| `expansions` | `seed`, `alphabet` (A–Z), `numbers` (0–9), `questions` (how/what/why…), `prepositions` (for/with/vs/near…). Default: seed + alphabet + questions. |
| `language`, `country` | e.g. `en` + `us`, `fr` + `fr`, `de` + `de`. |
| `maxSuggestionsPerKeyword` | 0 = no limit. |

```json
{
  "keywords": ["coffee maker"],
  "engines": ["google", "youtube", "bing", "google_shopping"],
  "expansions": ["seed", "alphabet", "questions"],
  "language": "en",
  "country": "us"
}
```

### Output

One row per unique suggestion per engine (a real result from 2026-10-03):

```json
{
  "keyword": "coffee maker",
  "engine": "youtube",
  "engineLabel": "YouTube",
  "query": "coffee maker j",
  "modifier": "+j",
  "suggestion": "coffee maker moka pot",
  "position": 11,
  "relevance": 554,
  "suggestionType": "QUERY",
  "language": "en",
  "country": "us",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-03T13:53:22.081Z"
}
```

The status message answers in one line (real run):

```
Saved 1810 suggestions for 1 keyword(s). "coffee maker": 1234 unique suggestions from 4 engine(s);
on several engines: "coffee maker cup", "coffee maker jar", "coffee maker mug", "coffee maker pot";
top questions: "which coffee maker should i buy", "what coffee maker makes the best coffee", …
```

For each keyword, `SUMMARY` holds the per-engine counts, the 15 strongest cross-engine ideas and the top 15 questions. Questions must mention your keyword.

### Pricing (pay per event)

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Suggestion saved (`suggestion`) | **$0.00025** ($0.25 per 1,000) |

Failed requests are never charged. Set *Max cost per run* to cap your spend, or use `maxSuggestionsPerKeyword`.

### Notes

- **DuckDuckGo suggestions come from Bing.** In our tests every DuckDuckGo suggestion also appeared on Bing. Pick one of the two unless you need both.
- **Google News and Image suggestions aren't offered,** because Google currently returns the same list as web search for them.
- Suggestions are personalised by language and country, not by user. Results can change daily.
- Wikipedia returns article titles, useful for entities and topics rather than long-tail phrases.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Seed keywords, e.g. "coffee maker" or "python tutorial".

## `engines` (type: `array`):

Autocomplete sources. DuckDuckGo's suggestions come from Bing, so pick one of the two unless you need both.

## `expansions` (type: `array`):

seed = the keyword itself; alphabet = keyword + a…z; numbers = keyword + 0…9; questions = how/what/why/… + keyword; prepositions = keyword + for/with/vs/near/….

## `language` (type: `string`):

Two-letter code, e.g. en, fr, de, es, rw.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Two-letter code, e.g. us, gb, in, fr, ke.

## `maxSuggestionsPerKeyword` (type: `integer`):

0 = no limit. A keyword with A–Z and questions on 4 engines usually gives 1,000–2,000 unique suggestions.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Requests sent at the same time.

## `maxRetries` (type: `integer`):

Each retry uses a fresh IP.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify datacenter proxy works for these endpoints.
