## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Krakt HF Pulse: Hugging Face trending & new models monitor

Lists Hugging Face Hub models, datasets or Spaces by trending score, newest, downloads, likes or last update. It uses the **official Hub API**, with no scraping and no login. Built for scheduled runs:

- **Only new items**: returns just the repos you haven't seen before. Good for a daily "new trending models" alert.
- **Change tracking**: every item includes `likesChange`, `downloadsChange`, `trendingScoreChange` and `previousRank` compared with your last run. **Only changed items** returns just the movers.
- **Filters**: search text, author/org, task (pipeline tag) and library (transformers, diffusers, gguf, mlx…).
- **Details (optional)**: license, parameter count, base model, languages, gated status and storage size.

### Example inputs

- Trending text-generation models: `{"repoType":"models","sort":"trending","pipelineTag":"text-generation","maxItems":50}`
- New GGUF models from today, only ones you haven't seen: `{"sort":"newest","library":"gguf","onlyNew":true}`
- Trending Spaces: `{"repoType":"spaces","maxItems":30}`

### Output

`id`, `type`, `url`, `author`, `pipelineTag`, `library`, `sdk` (Spaces), `likes`, `downloads`, `trendingScore`, `createdAt`, `lastModified`, `tags`, `rank`, `previousRank`, `isNew`, `likesChange`, `downloadsChange`, `trendingScoreChange`, `scrapedAt`. With details on, you also get `license`, `parameters`, `baseModel`, `languages`, `gated` and `usedStorageBytes`.

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.001 per item returned**. The Actor stops cleanly at your maximum cost per run.

### Notes

- State is kept per `repoType` + `stateKey` for 90 days. Use a different `stateKey` for each schedule.
- Hugging Face rate-limits anonymous API use. The Actor backs off on HTTP 429, and you can add an optional read token.
- Downloads are Hugging Face's rolling 30-day counts. Change values only appear from the second run on.
- Not affiliated with Hugging Face.

# Actor input Schema

## `repoType` (type: `string`):

What to list from the Hugging Face Hub.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Trending = Hugging Face trending score. Newest = recently created.

## `search` (type: `string`):

Optional text filter on repository names (e.g. 'llama', 'whisper').

## `author` (type: `string`):

Optional, e.g. 'google', 'meta-llama', 'Qwen'.

## `pipelineTag` (type: `string`):

Models only. e.g. text-generation, image-text-to-text, automatic-speech-recognition, text-to-image.

## `library` (type: `string`):

Models only. e.g. transformers, diffusers, gguf, mlx.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum results (each one is billed).

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Fetch each repo's detail record for license, parameter count, base model, languages, gated status and storage size. One extra API call per item.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Return only repositories not returned by earlier runs with the same state key.

## `onlyChanged` (type: `boolean`):

Return only repositories whose likes/downloads/trending score changed since the last run (plus new ones).

## `stateKey` (type: `string`):

Name for the stored state used by only-new and change tracking. Use one per schedule.

## `hfToken` (type: `string`):

Optional read token for higher API rate limits. Not required.

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("kurtholes/krakt-hf-pulse").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
