## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Arbeitsagentur Jobs Scraper: German Job Listings (Bundesagentur fuer Arbeit)

Unofficial scraper for the job search ("Jobsuche") of the German Federal Employment Agency. Search by keyword, city or postcode, radius, working hours, contract type and publication date, and get clean JSON rows for jobs, apprenticeships, internships and self-employment offers. This Actor is **unofficial and not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the Bundesagentur fuer Arbeit**.

### What does it do?

The Arbeitsagentur lists more than a million current offers from employers across Germany. The Actor reads the public search service behind arbeitsagentur.de/jobsuche (the same data the website shows to every visitor, no login) and returns one dataset row per offer: title, employer, city, postcode, region, coordinates, working hours, contract type, salary text, start date, publication and modification dates, the application link of the employer, and the page on arbeitsagentur.de. Turn on **Include full job description** to also get the full ad text.

### Why use it?

- **Labour market and salary research**: how many offers for a profession, in which region, with which contract.
- **Recruitment and lead generation**: find employers that are hiring right now, by industry keyword and location. Company data only, no private contacts.
- **Job boards and aggregators**: daily feed of fresh offers with the `publishedWithinDays` filter.
- **Monitoring**: track apprenticeships (Ausbildung) and dual study places per city.
- **Clean and cheap**: no proxy needed, deduplicated across searches, charged only for rows that were saved.

### How to use it

1. Enter one or more **keywords** (German terms work best) and **locations** with a radius.
2. Pick offer types, working hours, contract type and the publication window if you need them.
3. Set **Maximum number of jobs** and run. Start with the prefilled input: it finishes in well under a minute.
4. Download the dataset as JSON, CSV, Excel or via the API.

### Input

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `keywords` | Job title, skill or profession. Each keyword is searched separately, results merged without duplicates. |
| `locations`, `radiusKm` | City names or postcodes, radius 0 to 200 km. Empty = all of Germany. |
| `offerTypes` | job, selfEmployment, apprenticeship, internshipTraineeDualStudy. |
| `employmentTypes` | fullTime, partTime, shiftWeekendNight, homeOffice, miniJob. |
| `contractType` | any, fixedTerm, permanent. |
| `publishedWithinDays` | 0 (today) to 100 days, exact cut-off on the first publication date. |
| `employers` | Employer names; exact name or any text contained in the listed name (up to 5 matches per entry). |
| `temporaryAgencies`, `privateRecruiters` | include, exclude or only. |
| `maxJobs` | Total cap across all searches. |
| `includeDetails` | Add the full description (extra request per job). |

One search combination returns at most 10,000 offers (limit of the Arbeitsagentur service). For larger result sets split by location or by publication date.

### Output

```json
{
  "referenceNumber": "10001-1003891446-S",
  "title": "Softwareentwicklerin (w/m/d)",
  "employer": "GASAG AG",
  "city": "Berlin", "postcode": "10829", "region": "Berlin",
  "latitude": 52.480611, "longitude": 13.356027,
  "workTypes": ["full time"], "contractType": "fixed-term", "contractMonths": 24,
  "salaryText": "72,600 EUR per year",
  "startDate": "2026-10-21", "firstPublishedDate": "2026-10-21",
  "jobUrl": "https://www.arbeitsagentur.de/jobsuche/jobdetail/10001-1003891446-S"
}
```

### Data fields

`referenceNumber`, `title`, `employer`, `occupation`, `allOccupations`, `offerType`, `apprenticeshipType`, `city`, `postcode`, `region`, `latitude`, `longitude`, `locations[]` (all sites of the offer), `distanceKm`, `workTypes`, `fullTime`, `partTime`, `shiftWork`, `miniJob`, `homeOffice`, `homeOfficePercent`, `careerChangeWelcome`, `contractType`, `contractMonths`, `salaryText`, `salaryAmount`, `salaryType`, `startDate`, `firstPublishedDate`, `modifiedAt`, `externalApplicationUrl`, `jobUrl`, `searchKeyword`, `searchLocation`, `scrapedAt`. With details: `description`, `partnerName`, `partnerUrl`, `isTemporaryAgency`, `isPrivateRecruiter`, `disabilityRequired`, `hasDetails`.

**Personal data**: the Actor never outputs contact persons, their emails or phone numbers, and does not output street addresses. Email addresses, phone numbers and named contact persons (for example after "Ansprechpartner:" or "Frau ...") are removed from descriptions on a best-effort basis. Please check the result for your own compliance needs (GDPR).

### Pricing

Pay per event, you pay only for rows that were saved:

- `job`: **$0.0012 per job** (about $1.20 per 1,000), list data.
- `job-detail`: **$0.002 per job** (about $2 per 1,000), charged *instead of* `job` when the full description was added.

There is no start fee. Set a maximum cost per run in Apify and the Actor stops at that limit. Platform usage is small and shown in the run in the console.

### Tips

- Use `publishedWithinDays: 1` and a schedule for a daily fresh-jobs feed; the `referenceNumber` is a stable ID for deduplication.
- Keep details off for market overviews (about 100 offers per request, very fast). Turn them on when you need the text.
- The service pages at about 2 requests per second on purpose; 1,000 jobs with details take roughly 10 minutes.
- Employer filters work best with the exact name shown on the listing.

### FAQ

**Is it legal?** The Actor reads data that anyone can see on arbeitsagentur.de without login, respects robots.txt of the portal, collects no personal contact data and does not work around blocks. The portal's terms of use restrict automated access; you are responsible for how you use the data. If the Bundesagentur asks to stop, this Actor will be taken down.

**Do I need a proxy or an API key?** No.

**Why did a run stop early?** If the service answers 403 or 429, the Actor waits once, retries once, then stops and charges only the jobs already saved.

**Why are there fewer results than on the website?** Duplicates across keywords and locations are removed, and one search is limited to 10,000 offers.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

What to search for (the `was` field of arbeitsagentur.de/jobsuche), for example `Softwareentwickler`, `Pflegefachkraft`, `Elektriker`. German terms work best. Each keyword is searched separately and the results are merged without duplicates. Leave empty to browse by location and filters only.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

City names or postcodes in Germany (the `wo` field), for example `Berlin`, `80331`, `Hamburg`. Each location is searched separately (with the radius below) and results are merged without duplicates. Leave empty to search all of Germany.

## `radiusKm` (type: `integer`):

Distance around each location, in kilometres. 0 = only the place itself. Only used when a location is set. The Arbeitsagentur accepts any value from 0 to 200; the default is 25.

## `offerTypes` (type: `array`):

Which kind of offers to include. Leave empty for regular jobs only.

## `employmentTypes` (type: `array`):

Limit to full time, part time, shift or weekend work, home office, or mini job. Several values are combined with OR. Leave empty for all.

## `contractType` (type: `string`):

Fixed-term (befristet) or permanent (unbefristet) contracts only, or both.

## `publishedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only offers first published in the last N days (0 = today only, maximum 100). Leave empty for no limit. Handy for daily monitoring runs. The cut-off is exact; above 28 days the Arbeitsagentur has no server-side filter, so the Actor scans the newest results and stops when nothing recent is left.

## `employers` (type: `array`):

Only offers from these employers, for example `Zalando SE`, `Deutsche Bahn AG`. Write the name as it appears on the listing; if there is no exact match, the Actor looks for employer names that contain your text (up to 5 per entry) and tells you which ones it used in the log.

## `temporaryAgencies` (type: `string`):

Include, exclude or show only offers from temporary employment agencies.

## `privateRecruiters` (type: `string`):

Include, exclude or show only offers posted by private placement agencies instead of the hiring employer.

## `maxJobs` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many unique offers in total (over all keywords and locations). One search combination returns at most 10,000 offers because the Arbeitsagentur limits paging; split bigger searches by location or by the publication date.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Fetch each offer's detail record to add the full description text, the partner job board, and the temporary-agency / private-recruiter flags. Costs one extra request per job (about 0.5 s each) and is billed as `job-detail` instead of `job`. Email addresses, phone numbers and named contact persons are removed from the text.
