## Pricing

from $0.96 / 1,000 apps

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Play Store Scraper

A fast **Google Play Store API** alternative. Search apps by **keyword**, get **full app details** by ID or URL, list every app of a **developer**, find **similar apps**, scrape **top charts** (top free, top paid, top grossing) for any category, and collect **user reviews**. Installs, rating and histogram, price, last update, version, developer email/website/address, screenshots. Any country and language, no browser, results in clean JSON.

> Independent tool, not affiliated with or endorsed by Google LLC. It reads the same public data you see on play.google.com.

### What you get

One row per app (real result, shortened):

```json
{
  "type": "app",
  "appId": "com.spotlightsix.zentimerlite2",
  "title": "Insight Timer - Meditation App",
  "developer": "Insight Network Inc",
  "score": 4.697897,
  "ratings": 263164,
  "installs": "10,000,000+",
  "minInstalls": 10000000,
  "priceText": "Free",
  "offersIAP": true,
  "IAPRange": "$1.99 - $199.99 per item",
  "genre": "Health & Fitness",
  "version": "20.37.0",
  "updatedAt": "2026-10-15T14:52:11.000Z",
  "developerEmail": "help@insighttimer.com",
  "developerWebsite": "https://insighttimer.com",
  "developerLegalAddress": "3020 Bridgeway Pmb 470, Sausalito, CA 94965-1439, United States",
  "screenshots": ["https://play-lh.googleusercontent.com/jLCw4Aqw9zXk..."],
  "source": "search",
  "query": "meditation app",
  "rank": 1,
  "country": "us"
}
```

And, if you turn reviews on, one row per review:

```json
{
  "type": "review",
  "appId": "com.spotify.music",
  "appTitle": "Spotify: Music and Podcasts",
  "score": 1,
  "text": "I'm connected to wifi but it still says no connection",
  "date": "2026-10-16T12:12:38.442Z",
  "thumbsUp": 0,
  "replyText": null
}
```

**Try it in 1 click: the prefilled example runs in under a minute.** Press *Start* with the prefilled search ("meditation app", 10 apps with full details): in our test it finished in 7 seconds at 512 MB and costs $0.018 on the Apify Free plan (less on paid plans).

**Price:** from $1.84 per 1,000 apps and $0.92 per 1,000 reviews on the Apify Free plan, down to $0.45 and $0.22 on Diamond. Platform usage included, no start fee.

### Why this Google Play scraper

- **All sources in one run**: keywords, app IDs/URLs, developers, similar apps and top charts together, each app returned once even if several sources list it.
- **Apps and reviews in one actor**: details and reviews in the same run, filtered by star rating if you want only complaints (1 star) or praise (5 stars).
- **Simple, predictable price**: platform usage included, **no start fee**. 20% cheaper per app and per review than automation-lab/google-play-scraper on every plan.
- **Reliable**: every request retries through a fresh proxy session; one bad app never fails the run, it is skipped, listed in the `FAILED` record and not billed.
- **Drop-in compatible**: accepts the input field names of the two most used young Google Play actors (`searchQueries`, `appIdsOrUrls`, `developerIds`, `similarToAppIds`, `includeCollection`, `collectionChart`, `collectionCategory`, `maxResultsPerQuery`, `countryCode`, `fullDetail`... and `mode`, `searchTerms`, `appIds`, `chartCollection`, `chartCategory`, `maxResults`, `country`, `reviewSort`, `reviewScore`) and keeps their output field names.

### What you can do with it

- **ASO and keyword research**: see which apps rank for a keyword in any country, with ratings, installs and last update.
- **Competitor tracking**: monitor a competitor's rating, installs, version and release notes; schedule it daily.
- **Review mining and sentiment**: thousands of reviews per app for product feedback, bug reports and LLM analysis.
- **Lead generation**: developer email, website and legal address of apps in a niche (public data shown on each app page).
- **Market research**: top free, paid and grossing charts by category and country.
- **AI agents and dashboards**: one clean JSON object per app or review, ready for LLMs, BI tools and spreadsheets.

### Input

```json
{
  "searchQueries": ["meditation app", "sleep tracker"],
  "appIdsOrUrls": ["com.whatsapp", "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.duolingo"],
  "developerIds": ["Google LLC"],
  "similarToAppIds": ["com.spotify.music"],
  "includeCollection": true,
  "collectionChart": "topgrossing",
  "collectionCategory": "GAME",
  "maxResultsPerQuery": 50,
  "language": "en",
  "countryCode": "us",
  "fullDetail": true,
  "includeReviews": true,
  "maxReviewsPerApp": 200,
  "reviewSort": "newest"
}
```

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `searchQueries` | Keywords, like the Play Store search box. Google returns at most ~30 apps per query. |
| `appIdsOrUrls` | Package names or Play Store URLs; always full details. |
| `developerIds` | Developer name, numeric id or developer page URL: all their apps. |
| `similarToAppIds` | The "Similar apps" Google Play shows for each app. |
| `includeCollection`, `collectionChart`, `collectionCategory` | Top free / top paid / top grossing chart for a category (all 50+ Play categories, games included). |
| `maxResultsPerQuery` | Max apps per query, developer or chart (default 100). |
| `language`, `countryCode` | `hl` and `gl` of Google Play: prices, currency, rankings, translated texts and reviews of that market. |
| `fullDetail` | Open each app page (installs, histogram, update date, description, contacts, screenshots). Off = fast ranking-only list. |
| `includeScreenshots`, `includeDeveloperContact` | Drop screenshot/video URLs or developer contact fields if you don't need them. |
| `includeReviews`, `maxReviewsPerApp`, `reviewSort`, `reviewScore` | Reviews per app, sorted by newest, most relevant or rating, optionally only one star rating. |
| `maxConcurrency`, `proxyConfiguration` | Parallel requests (default 10) and proxy (datacenter by default). |

### Output

**App** (`type: "app"`): `appId`, `title`, `url`, `appUrl`, `developer`, `developerId`, `developerUrl`, `score`, `scoreText`, `ratings`, `reviews`, `histogram` and `histogram1star`…`histogram5star`, `installs`, `minInstalls`, `maxInstalls` (`realInstalls`), `free`, `price`, `currency`, `priceText`, `originalPrice`, `offersIAP`, `IAPRange` (`inAppProductPrice`), `summary`, `description`, `descriptionHTML`, `genre`, `genreId`, `categories`, `contentRating`, `adSupported` (`containsAds`), `available`, `preregister`, `earlyAccessEnabled`, `androidVersion`, `androidVersionText`, `version`, `released`, `updated` (ms) and `updatedAt` (ISO), `recentChanges`, `developerEmail`, `developerWebsite`, `developerAddress`, `developerLegalName`, `developerLegalEmail`, `developerLegalAddress`, `developerLegalPhoneNumber` (`developerPhone`), `privacyPolicy`, `icon`, `headerImage`, `screenshots`, `video`, `videoImage`, plus `source` (search / appId / developer / similar / topChart), `query`, `rank`, `chartRank`, `language`, `country`, `scrapedAt`.

With `fullDetail` off, rows from searches, developers, similar apps and charts carry only the list fields (`appId`, `title`, `developer`, `score`, `price`, `icon`, `summary`, rank).

**Review** (`type: "review"`): `appId`, `appTitle`, `reviewId`, `userName`, `userImage`, `score`, `scoreText`, `title`, `text`, `date`, `thumbsUp`, `version`, `replyText`, `replyDate`, `criterias`, `url`, `language`, `country`.

### Pricing

Pay per result, platform usage included, no start fee. The price depends on your Apify plan:

| Event | Free | Bronze | Silver | Gold | Platinum | Diamond |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| App (with full details) | $0.00184 | $0.0016 | $0.00124 | $0.00096 | $0.00064 | $0.000448 |
| Review | $0.00092 | $0.0008 | $0.000624 | $0.00048 | $0.00032 | $0.000224 |

Examples on the Free plan: the top 100 games of a chart with full details = $0.18; 1,000 reviews of one app = $0.92. Set a maximum total charge to cap spending; the actor stops cleanly when it is reached.

### Migrating from other Google Play actors

Both input styles below work unchanged; just switch the actor ID to `lagenuina_agency/google-play-scraper`.

| solidcode/google-play-apps-scraper | automation-lab/google-play-scraper | This actor |
|---|---|---|
| `searchQueries` | `mode: "search"` + `searchTerms` | `searchQueries` (both accepted) |
| `appIdsOrUrls` | `mode: "details"` + `appIds` | `appIdsOrUrls` (both accepted) |
| `developerIds` | (not available) | `developerIds` |
| `similarToAppIds` | (not available) | `similarToAppIds` |
| `includeCollection`, `collectionChart`, `collectionCategory` | `mode: "topCharts"`, `chartCollection` (`top-free`…), `chartCategory` | Both accepted |
| `maxResultsPerQuery` | `maxResults` | Both accepted |
| `language`, `countryCode` | `language`, `country` | Both accepted |
| `fullDetail`, `includeScreenshots`, `includeDeveloperContact` | (always on) | Same as solidcode |
| (no reviews) | `mode: "reviews"`, `reviewSort`, `reviewScore` | Same, or `includeReviews` to get apps and reviews together |

**Output:** the field names in both actors' README examples are kept (`appId`, `title`, `appUrl`, `url`, `developerUrl`, `realInstalls`, `inAppProductPrice`, `containsAds`, `developerPhone`, `histogram1star`…, `updatedAt`, `chartRank`, `chartCollection`, `chartCategory`, `reviewId`, `scoreText`…). Differences: `updated` is a timestamp in ms (use `updatedAt` for ISO), `categories` is a list of `{name, id}`, `size` and `dataSafety` are not returned.

**Price per 1,000 results** (public Apify Store prices, checked on 17 October 2026):

| Apify plan | automation-lab apps / reviews | solidcode apps (no reviews) | This actor apps / reviews |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $2.30 / $1.15 + $0.005 per run | $0.60 + $0.01 per run per GB | $1.84 / $0.92 |
| Bronze | $2.00 / $1.00 | $0.56 | $1.60 / $0.80 |
| Silver | $1.55 / $0.78 | $0.53 | $1.24 / $0.62 |
| Gold | $1.20 / $0.60 | $0.50 | $0.96 / $0.48 |
| Platinum | $0.80 / $0.40 | $0.50 | $0.64 / $0.32 |
| Diamond | $0.56 / $0.28 | $0.50 | $0.45 / $0.22 |

solidcode/google-play-apps-scraper costs less per app on most plans but has no reviews; if you only need app lists, compare the total cost of the same input on your own runs.

### Limits / not supported

- **~30 apps per search query**: Google Play itself shows only ~30 results per search and no further pages. For more apps, add keyword variations, developers or top charts.
- Top charts go up to ~200 apps; "Similar apps" returns what Google shows (often 4–50).
- Reviews: Google serves them newest-first in pages of 150; a star filter (`reviewScore`) reads pages until enough matching reviews are found, so rare ratings take longer.
- Results come in parallel: use `rank` / `chartRank` for the original order.
- Not returned: app size, data safety section, permissions, pre-registration counts. No login, no paid/private data.
- An app that is not available in the chosen country returns a 404 and is listed in `FAILED` (not billed).

### Use it from AI agents (MCP)

This actor is a ready-made tool for any MCP client (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, custom agents) through the Apify MCP server:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "apify": { "url": "https://mcp.apify.com/?actors=lagenuina_agency/google-play-scraper" }
  }
}
```

Ask things like *"Which meditation apps rank top in Germany and when were they last updated?"*, *"Summarise the last 300 one-star reviews of com.spotify.music"* or *"List the top grossing puzzle games in Japan with their developers' emails"*.

### Integrations and API

Call it from your code with the official Apify clients (full runnable examples: [github.com/assa83/google-play-scraper-api](https://github.com/assa83/google-play-scraper-api)):

```python
## pip install apify-client
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("lagenuina_agency/google-play-scraper").call(run_input={"searchQueries": ["meditation app"], "maxResultsPerQuery": 10})
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item["title"], item["score"], item["installs"])
```

```js
// npm i apify-client
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: process.env.APIFY_TOKEN });
const run = await client.actor('lagenuina_agency/google-play-scraper').call({ appIdsOrUrls: ['com.whatsapp'], includeReviews: true, maxReviewsPerApp: 100 });
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
```

No-code: use the Apify app in **n8n**, **Make** or **Zapier** (action "Run Actor", pick `lagenuina_agency/google-play-scraper`), or the `langchain-apify` / CrewAI `ApifyActorsTool` integrations for AI agents. Results can also be pushed to Google Sheets, Slack, webhooks or any S3 bucket via Apify integrations.

### FAQ

**Is there an official Google Play Store API for app data?** Google's Play Developer API only covers your own apps. To read public data of any app (ratings, installs, reviews, rankings) you need a scraper like this one.

**Can I scrape Google Play reviews?** Yes: turn on `includeReviews` (or use `mode: "reviews"`), choose how many per app, the sort order and optionally a star rating. Each review is one row.

**How do I get app installs and ratings for many apps?** Put the package names in `appIdsOrUrls` (hundreds per run) or start from a keyword, developer or top chart.

**Does it work for other countries and languages?** Yes, any Play Store market: set `countryCode` (prices, currency, rankings) and `language` (texts and reviews).

**Why do I get only ~30 apps per keyword?** That is all Google Play shows for one search. Use several related keywords; duplicates are removed automatically.

**Is the google-play-scraper npm / Python library enough?** For a few calls, yes. This actor adds proxy rotation, retries, parallel runs, scheduling, storage and integrations, so it keeps working at scale without your own servers.

**Is scraping Google Play legal?** The actor reads publicly available data shown to every visitor. You are responsible for how you use it (especially developer contact details and reviewer names); check your local laws and Google's terms.

**Something broke?** Open an issue on the Issues tab: we answer within 24 hours.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

Keywords to search on Google Play, exactly like the Play Store search box (e.g. 'meditation app', 'photo editor'). Each query returns up to 'Max results per query' apps, ranked as on Google Play.

## `appIdsOrUrls` (type: `array`):

Package names (com.whatsapp) or Play Store URLs (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatsapp). Always returns full details.

## `developerIds` (type: `array`):

All apps of a developer: name as shown on Google Play ('Google LLC'), numeric id, or a /store/apps/developer?id= or /store/apps/dev?id= URL.

## `similarToAppIds` (type: `array`):

App IDs or URLs: returns the 'Similar apps' Google Play shows for each (competitor discovery).

## `includeCollection` (type: `boolean`):

Also scrape a Google Play top chart (top free / top paid / top grossing) for the category below.

## `collectionChart` (type: `string`):

Which top chart to scrape when 'Browse top charts' is on. Default: top free.

## `collectionCategory` (type: `string`):

Google Play category for the top chart (APPLICATION = all apps, GAME = all games). Default: APPLICATION.

## `maxResultsPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

Max apps per search query, developer or top chart. Note: Google Play itself returns at most ~30 apps per search query (no further pages exist), so use several keyword variations for more; developers and top charts go up to ~200. Default: 100.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Two-letter language code (hl) for titles, descriptions and reviews: en, it, de, fr, es, pt, ja...

Keep screenshot, header image and video URLs in the output.

## `includeDeveloperContact` (type: `boolean`):

Keep developer email, website, address and legal info (public data shown on the app page).

## `includeReviews` (type: `boolean`):

Also scrape user reviews for every app (one dataset item per review, type = 'review').

## `maxReviewsPerApp` (type: `integer`):

Reviews per app when 'Scrape reviews' is on.

## `reviewSort` (type: `string`):

Order in which reviews are collected.

## `reviewScore` (type: `integer`):

Optional: keep only 1-5 star reviews (e.g. 1 for complaints). Empty = all.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Parallel requests to Google Play.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):
