## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Bulk Domain WHOIS Lookup – Age, Expiry Date & Registrar (RDAP)

Bulk WHOIS/RDAP lookup for any TLD with an RDAP service: domain age, creation & expiry dates, registrar, status, nameservers, DNSSEC and availability. Find expiring domains and qualify leads fast.

### What does it do?

Look up registration data for any list of domains using **RDAP**, the official ICANN successor of WHOIS. Get **creation date and domain age**, **expiry date and days until expiry**, last update, **registrar** (name, IANA ID, abuse contact), **EPP statuses** (transfer lock, pending delete/redemption), **nameservers**, **DNSSEC** and **availability** (not found = likely available). Data comes straight from the registries/registrars via the IANA bootstrap – no scraping of WHOIS websites.

### Why use it?

- Domain investors: find expiring and pending-delete domains.
- Sales & lead qualification: company age as a trust/size signal, registrar and DNS provider.
- Brand protection & security: spot newly-registered look-alike domains.
- IT asset management: track renewal dates of your whole portfolio.

### Quick start

1. Click **Try for free** / **Start**.
2. Paste your list (the example input already works – just press Start).
3. Download results as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or use the API, schedules and integrations (Make, Zapier, n8n, Slack, Google Sheets…).

### Input example

```json
{
  "domains": ["apify.com", "github.com", "wikipedia.org"],
  "onlyExpiringWithinDays": 0
}
```

### Output example

```json
{
  "domain": "example.com",
  "availability": "registered",
  "domainAgeYears": 12.4,
  "createdDate": "2014-06-02T10:11:12Z",
  "expiryDate": "2027-06-02T10:11:12Z",
  "daysUntilExpiry": 214,
  "registrar": "Example Registrar, Inc.",
  "statuses": ["client transfer prohibited"],
  "nameservers": ["ns1.example.net", "ns2.example.net"],
  "dnssec": false
}
```

### Pricing

Pay only for results: **$2.50 per 1,000 domains** (pay-per-event). No subscription. Platform usage is included in the price. You can set a maximum cost per run and the Actor stops before exceeding it.

### FAQ

**Do you return registrant names and personal data?**

No. Personal registrant data is redacted under GDPR and this Actor deliberately does not collect it. Only registry/registrar business data is returned.

**Which TLDs are supported?**

All TLDs that publish an RDAP service in the IANA bootstrap (all gTLDs such as .com, .net, .org, .io, .app and many ccTLDs). TLDs without RDAP are reported as failed and not charged.

**Are lookups for failed domains charged?**

No. Failures are stored in FAILED_INPUTS and are free.

### Legal & responsible use

This Actor only accesses publicly available data and official public APIs, respects robots.txt where applicable and paces its requests. You are responsible for using the results in line with applicable laws (e.g. GDPR/CCPA) and the terms of the data sources.

### Support

Found a bug or need a feature? Open an issue on the Actor’s **Issues** tab – we usually reply within 24 hours. Check our other tools: Website SEO & Broken Link Auditor, B2B Lead & Tech Stack Intelligence, Shopify Product Scraper and ATS Jobs Scraper.

Optional: return only domains that expire within this many days (0 = return all).

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Lookups in parallel (registries rate-limit, keep it modest).

## Actor input object example
