## Pricing

from $1.49 / 1,000 apps

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store Search & Top Charts Scraper: App Details & Ranks

Search the Apple App Store like a user does, read Apple's top charts, list every app a developer has published, or look up any app by its link, id or bundle id — and get one clean row per app with ratings, rating counts, price, current version, release notes, size, minimum iOS, languages, content rating, icon, screenshots and the full description. Every row keeps its **keyword rank** or **chart position**, so you can track App Store SEO and chart movement over time.

It reads Apple's public iTunes Search and Lookup APIs and Apple's public top-chart feeds — the data Apple publishes for affiliates and developers. No login, no browser, no proxies.

### What you can use it for

- **App Store optimization (ASO)**: see which apps rank for your keywords in each country, and where you stand, day by day
- **Competitor tracking**: follow ratings, rating counts, prices, versions and release notes of the apps you compete with
- **Top-chart monitoring**: capture the top free, paid and grossing apps overall or per category (Games, Finance, Health & Fitness, ...) in any country
- **Market research and lead lists**: build lists of apps (and their developers and support websites) in a niche, with size signals from rating counts
- **Developer portfolios**: pull every app of a publisher with one link
- **Release watch**: "Updated within (days)" finds apps that shipped a new version recently

### Why this one

- **$1.75 per 1,000 apps**, no fee per search or per chart — about half of what comparable App Store scrapers charge
- **Four modes in one run**: keyword search, app lookup, developer apps and top charts
- **Any country**: run the same input across `us`, `gb`, `de`, `jp`, ... and compare
- **Ranks included**: keyword position for searches, chart position for charts
- **Filters before you pay**: minimum rating, minimum number of ratings, free/paid, genre and last-update filters run before rows are saved
- **iPhone, iPad and Mac** search and charts

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Search keywords | App Store searches, e.g. `habit tracker` |
| Apps | `https://apps.apple.com/us/app/.../id324684580`, `324684580` or `com.spotify.client` |
| Developers | Developer page links or developer ids |
| Top charts | Top free / paid / grossing for iPhone, iPad or Mac |
| Chart categories | e.g. `games`, `finance`, `productivity` (empty = overall chart) |
| Countries | Two-letter store codes, default `us` |
| Search platform | iPhone, iPad or Mac apps for keyword and developer modes |
| Minimum rating / number of ratings | Quality filters |
| Price | Any, free only, paid only |
| Genres | Keep apps in these genres |
| Updated within (days) | Only apps with a recent release |
| Max apps per search / chart, Max apps in total | Hard caps — you never pay for more |

Example input:

```json
{
  "searchTerms": ["habit tracker", "budget app"],
  "charts": ["top-free", "top-grossing"],
  "chartGenres": ["finance"],
  "countries": ["us", "gb"],
  "minRatingCount": 100,
  "maxResultsPerQuery": 50,
  "maxResults": 500
}
```

### Output

One row per app per country and per source (search keyword, lookup, developer, chart):

```json
{
  "appId": "324684580",
  "name": "Spotify: Music and Podcasts",
  "bundleId": "com.spotify.client",
  "country": "us",
  "source": "lookup",
  "query": "324684580",
  "rank": null,
  "url": "https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spotify-music-and-podcasts/id324684580",
  "primaryGenre": "Music",
  "price": 0.0,
  "formattedPrice": "Free",
  "averageRating": 4.771,
  "ratingCount": 42751452,
  "currentVersion": "9.1.94",
  "currentVersionReleaseDate": "2026-10-23T17:59:53Z",
  "minimumOsVersion": "16.1",
  "fileSizeMb": 310.1,
  "contentRating": "12+",
  "languages": [
    "AR",
    "AZ"
  ],
  "iconUrl": "https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb...",
  "releaseNotes": "...",
  "description": "..."
}
```

Export as JSON, CSV, Excel or XML, or read it through the Apify API.

### How much does it cost?

You pay **$0.00175 per app row** ($1.75 per 1,000) plus $0.001 per run. There is no browser, so compute is a fraction of a cent per run.

Worked examples:

1. **Keyword rank check** — 20 keywords × top 50 apps in one country = 1,000 rows ≈ **$1.75**
2. **Daily chart snapshot** — top free + top grossing, 5 categories, 100 apps each, US only = 1,000 rows ≈ **$1.75 per day**
3. **Competitor watch** — 30 competitor apps in 3 countries = 90 rows ≈ **$0.16 per run**

Rows removed by your filters are not charged.

### FAQ

**Is this legal?** Yes. The actor uses Apple's public iTunes Search and Lookup APIs and Apple's public top-chart feeds, which Apple provides for developers and affiliates to show App Store content. It keeps a gentle request pace, reads no login-only pages and returns no personal data — only public app listings.

**Why are there fewer results than I asked for?** Apple's search returns at most 200 apps per keyword and sometimes fewer for niche terms; charts go up to 200. An app missing in one country is simply not sold there.

**Why does the rating differ from the App Store page?** Apple rounds the rating on the page; this actor returns the exact average (e.g. 4.771) and the exact number of ratings.

**Can I get reviews too?** Yes — use our App Store Reviews actor with the app ids from this one.

**Does it work for Google Play?** No, this actor is for Apple's App Store only.

### Tips

- Schedule it daily and compare `rank` per `query` to chart keyword movement
- Use `minRatingCount` to skip tiny apps in market research
- Combine several countries in one run to compare localized rankings

### Integrations

Send results to Google Sheets, Slack, Airtable, a webhook, Zapier or Make with Apify integrations, or call it from your own code through the Apify API.

### Changelog

- **0.1** (October 2026) — first release: keyword search, lookup by URL/id/bundle id, developer apps, top charts by category, multi-country, rating/price/genre/update filters.
