## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## EURES Jobs Scraper: EU Job Vacancies from 31 European Countries

Get **job vacancies from EURES**, the **European Job Mobility Portal** run by the European Commission. EURES carries the vacancies of the **public employment services of all EU and EEA countries** (Bundesagentur für Arbeit, UWV, VDAB, Pôle emploi / France Travail, SEPE, NAV, Arbetsförmedlingen and more) plus partner job boards: millions of jobs in one place.

Each vacancy comes with title, employer, country and NUTS region, **ESCO occupation**, contract type, working time, number of posts, publish and update dates and the EURES link. With **details** on, also city, postal code, salary / benefits text, application links and deadline.

### What does EURES Jobs Scraper do?

It searches the EURES portal by keyword, country, ESCO occupation, contract type, working time, experience, education and publication date, pages through the results (50 per page), merges several keyword searches without duplicates, picks your preferred language when the vacancy has a translation, cleans the description and returns one clean row per vacancy. Turn on **"only new"** for a scheduled European job alert.

Recruiter names, e-mail addresses and phone numbers are **never** returned (they are removed from descriptions too).

### How to use EURES Jobs Scraper

1. Click **Try for free** on this page.
2. Type keywords in any EU language (e.g. `python developer`, `Krankenpfleger`, `chef de cuisine`) and pick countries (`DE`, `NL`, `IE`...), or leave them empty.
3. Optional: publication period, contract type, working time, ESCO occupation, "EURES flag" (employers recruiting across borders).
4. Click **Start** and download the results from the **Output** tab as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or read them with the Apify API.
5. Optional: add a **Schedule** with "only new" and connect Slack, email, Google Sheets or a webhook.

### Who uses it

- **People moving to another EU country**: new vacancies in your field, country by country, in one daily list.
- **Recruitment and relocation agencies**: European demand by occupation and region; employers open to hiring from abroad (EURES flag).
- **Job boards and newsletters**: a clean pan-European feed with source credit and original links.
- **Labour-market researchers**: vacancies by ESCO occupation, NUTS region, contract and working time.

### Features

- 31 countries: EU 27 + Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
- Filters: keywords, countries, publication period (day, 3 days, week, month), ESCO occupation URIs, contract type, working time, experience, education level, EURES flag.
- **Best match** sorting with keywords (the portal also finds translations, e.g. Softwareentwickler for developer) and an optional strict mode (every word must appear).
- **Preferred language** for title and description when the employer published a translation.
- **Deduplication** across keyword searches (`matchedSearches`).
- **Details** mode: city, postal code, all locations, salary / benefits text, application links, deadline, immediate start.
- **Only new** mode with separate memory per alert name.
- Polite by design: one request every 10 seconds, as the portal's robots.txt asks, with retries.

### Pricing

Pay per event:

- **USD 1 per 1,000 vacancies** returned (USD 0.001 each).

Duplicates, excluded vacancies, vacancies dropped by strict mode and (in "only new" mode) vacancies already delivered are **not charged**. If the portal cannot be reached the run fails and no vacancies are charged.

### FAQ

**Is this allowed?** EURES is a public European Commission portal; Commission content may be reused under Decision 2011/833/EU, with the source acknowledged (every row has an `attribution`). The actor reads the portal at the pace its robots.txt asks for.

**Why is it slower than other scrapers?** One request every 10 seconds: 50 vacancies per request, so about 300 vacancies a minute (details: 6 per minute).

**Which language are the vacancies in?** The language the employer used. If a translation in your preferred language exists, you get that one.

**Can I call it from my own code or from an AI agent?** Yes. Use the Apify API or the JavaScript / Python clients, or the Apify MCP server (`mcp.apify.com`).

**Which export formats are available?** JSON, JSONL, CSV, Excel (XLSX), XML, RSS and HTML table.

### Changelog

- 0.1 (2026-10): first version.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Job titles, skills or words in any EU language (e.g. software developer, Krankenpfleger, chef). One search per keyword; results are merged without duplicates. Leave empty for all vacancies matching the filters.

## `strictKeywords` (type: `boolean`):

The EURES search is broad (it also finds translations, synonyms and related occupations, e.g. Softwareentwickler for developer). On: keep only vacancies whose title or description literally contains every word of the keyword. Dropped vacancies are not charged.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

With keywords, best match gives far more relevant results.

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Two-letter codes: AT, BE, BG, CH, CY, CZ, DE, DK, EE, ES, FI, FR, GR, HR, HU, IE, IS, IT, LI, LT, LU, LV, MT, NL, NO, PL, PT, RO, SE, SI, SK. Empty = all countries.

## `publicationPeriod` (type: `string`):

Only vacancies published in this period.

## `occupationUris` (type: `array`):

Optional ESCO occupation URIs (e.g. http://data.europa.eu/esco/occupation/f2b15a0e-e65a-438a-affb-29b9d50b77d1 for software developer). Find them at esco.ec.europa.eu.

## `contractTypes` (type: `array`):

Any of: directhire, contract, temporary, temporarytohire, contracttohire, seasonal, apprenticeship, selfemployed, oncall, volunteer, recruitmentreserve.

## `schedules` (type: `array`):

Any of: fulltime, parttime, flextime.

## `experience` (type: `array`):

Any of: none_required, up_to_1_year, between_1_and_2_years, between_2_and_5_years, more_than_5_years.

## `educationLevels` (type: `array`):

Any of: basic, medium, tertiary, bachelor, master, doctoral.

## `euresFlagOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only vacancies whose employer is explicitly interested in recruiting workers from other EU countries.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop vacancies whose title contains any of these words (e.g. intern, Praktikum).

## `language` (type: `string`):

Two-letter code. When the vacancy is published in this language too, its title and description are returned in it; otherwise the original language is used.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Opens every vacancy for city, postal code, salary / benefits text, application links and deadline. Slower: the portal is read at one request every 10 seconds. Recruiter names, e-mails and phone numbers are never returned.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Plain-text job description (e-mail addresses and phone numbers removed).

## `maxDescriptionChars` (type: `integer`):

Longer descriptions are cut.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many vacancies.

## `maxPagesPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

50 vacancies per page, one page every 10 seconds.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Skip vacancies already delivered in earlier runs with the same alert name. Skipped vacancies are not charged.

## `alertName` (type: `string`):
