Pay per usage

This Actor is paid per platform usage. The Actor is free to use, and you only pay for the Apify platform usage, which gets cheaper the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## E-commerce Product Data Scraper (Shopify, WooCommerce, any shop) at Half Price

Give it shop homepages, category pages or product URLs. You get **one clean row per product**: title, brand, price, currency, compare-at/sale price, availability, SKU/GTIN, variants, images and description.

**Price: Free during launch: you pay only Apify platform usage.** Listing pages are free and there is no proxy surcharge. Shops that are blocked, skipped or return nothing cost nothing.

### Why it's better

| | This Actor |
|---|---|
| Price | Half of `apify/e-commerce-scraping-tool` at every tier. No `product-search` fee and no residential-proxy fee |
| Sources, best first | Shopify `products.json`, WooCommerce Store API, schema.org JSON-LD, microdata, OpenGraph, then a last-resort title + price heuristic. Headless Shopify stores are found through their sitemap |
| Legal gate | Before fetching anything from a shop, the Actor checks robots.txt (RFC 9309) **and scans the shop's Terms of Service**. It skips the shop if the terms forbid scraping or crawling, or if they can't be read because robots.txt disallows the terms page. Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Etsy, Flipkart and about 70 other marketplaces are never fetched |
| Politeness | Honest bot User-Agent, per-host delay, a Shopify-wide rate limiter, and it backs off on HTTP 429. No proxies, no logins, no CAPTCHA solving |
| Spend limit | The Actor checks your max-charge limit before each product and stops cleanly when it is reached |
| Transparency | A `SHOPS_SUMMARY` record lists every shop with its status (`ok`, `blocked-by-terms` with the clause that was found, `blocked-by-robots`, `blocked-by-tos-list`, `skipped-terms-unverifiable`, `rate-limited`, `no-products-found`) |

### Input

```json
{ "startUrls": [{ "url": "https://scrapeme.live/shop/" }, { "url": "https://nomadgoods.com" }],
  "maxProductsPerShop": 100, "maxListingPages": 10, "includeDescription": true }
```

### Output (shortened, from a real run)

```json
{ "url": "https://nomadgoods.com/products/tracking-card-pro", "shop": "nomadgoods.com", "source": "json-ld",
  "title": "Tracking Card Pro", "brand": "Nomad Goods", "price": 45.0, "currency": "USD",
  "onSale": false, "availability": "InStock", "inStock": true, "gtin": "856504011109", "images": ["https://cdn.shopify.com/..."] }
```

### Measured on 32 real shop URLs (29 Sep 2026)

- **536 products from 11 shops** (up to 50 per shop), in 344 s wall time (including 120 s of polite 429 back-off), 29.9 CPU-s and 340 MB peak memory.
- **Accuracy:** 88 products (8 per shop) were re-fetched and checked. The title was correct on 88/88 and the price matched the page on 88/88.
- **Gate outcomes:**

  - 9 shops skipped because their ToS forbids scraping (Shopify's default terms do this)
  - 2 skipped because robots.txt hides their terms page
  - 5 marketplaces never fetched
  - 1 blocked by robots.txt
  - 1 rate-limited
  - 2 had no machine-readable products (JavaScript-only)

  None of these were charged.

### Use it responsibly

The ToS check is an automated, English-only heuristic. It is **not legal advice**. You are responsible for your use of the data. The Actor reads only public product pages and never logs in or gets around blocks.

### Pricing

Free during launch: you pay only Apify platform usage.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Shop homepages (all products), collection/category pages, or single product pages. Mixed shops are fine. Marketplaces whose terms forbid scraping (Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Etsy, AliExpress, Flipkart, ...) are refused, and any shop whose robots.txt or terms of service forbid it is skipped and not charged.

## `maxProductsPerShop` (type: `integer`):

You pay only for products delivered.

## `maxProductsTotal` (type: `integer`):

Stop the whole run after this many products. 0 means no overall limit.

## `maxListingPages` (type: `integer`):

Pagination depth for category pages and storefront APIs (Shopify returns 250 products per page, WooCommerce 100). Listing pages are free.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Include the product description as plain text.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Number of shops processed at the same time.

## `politeDelaySecs` (type: `string`):

A shop's robots.txt Crawl-delay is used if it is longer.

## `requestTimeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

Give up on a request after this many seconds.
