## Pricing

Pay per usage

This Actor is paid per platform usage. The Actor is free to use, and you only pay for the Apify platform usage, which gets cheaper the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Accessibility Scanner (WCAG 2.1 AA, axe-core)

**Find common WCAG accessibility issues on any public web page, with a plain-English fix list.** Not legal advice.

### What it does

- Loads each URL in a real Chromium browser, waits for the page to settle, and runs the open-source **axe-core** engine (Deque, MPL-2.0) with WCAG 2.0/2.1 Level A and AA rules.
- For each page you get a **0-100 score**, failed rules sorted by impact (critical, serious, moderate, minor), the number of affected elements, up to 3 example selectors, the WCAG criteria, and a **one-line fix**.
- Respects robots.txt by default. Pages that fail to load or are robots-blocked are reported and **never charged**.

### Who it's for

Small-business site owners, web agencies checking client sites, and city or school web teams preparing for the DOJ ADA Title II web rule (WCAG 2.1 AA by 26 Apr 2027 for populations of 50,000+, and 26 Apr 2028 for smaller ones; source: https://www.ada.gov/resources/2024-03-08-web-rule/).

### Honest limits

Automated tools catch only part of WCAG; keyboard flow, screen-reader meaning, captions and PDFs need a manual review. **This scanner does not make a site "ADA compliant", does not certify WCAG conformance, and does not prevent lawsuits.** Overlays that promise that have drawn FTC action (https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/news/press-releases/2025/04/ftc-approves-final-order-requiring-accessibe-pay-1-million).

### Input

```json
{"startUrls": [{"url": "https://example.com/"}], "maxPages": 25, "respectRobotsTxt": true}
```

### Output (one item per page)

`url, title, score, rulesFailed, elementsAffected, byImpact{critical,serious,moderate,minor}, needsManualReview, issues[{rule, impact, help, wcag, elements, examples, howToFix, helpUrl}], engine, disclaimer`

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.004 per page scanned**. Failed and blocked pages are free.

### Score

100 minus 10 per critical rule, 6 per serious, 3 per moderate and 1 per minor rule (floor 0). A simple prioritisation aid, not a compliance grade.

Made by Unadhi: clear compliance tools that small teams can afford.

        }
    ]
};

// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("laudable_instrument/website-accessibility-wcag-scanner").call(input);

// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
