## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SEC EDGAR Scraper: Filings & Financials

Get **SEC filings** and **yearly financial statements** for any US public company by ticker or CIK, straight from the official SEC EDGAR data. No API key, no parsing PDFs.

### Two modes

**Yearly financials:** one row per company per fiscal year:
revenue, gross profit, operating income, net income, net margin, diluted EPS, total assets, liabilities, stockholders' equity, cash, operating cash flow, long-term debt and R\&D spend.

**Filings list:** one row per filing (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, S-1, Form 4, and more) with filing date, report date, accession number and direct links to the document and the filing index. Filter by form type and date range.

### Who uses it

- **Investors and analysts:** pull multi-year financials for a watchlist into a spreadsheet in one run.
- **Fintech and research tools:** feed clean fundamentals into models and dashboards.
- **Journalists and compliance teams:** track new 8-Ks, insider filings (Form 4) and S-1s.

### Input

- **Tickers or CIK numbers:** `AAPL`, `MSFT`, `BRK.B` or `320193`.
- **What to get:** Yearly financials or Filings list.
- **Years of financials** (financials mode), **Filing types**, **Filed from / until** and **Maximum filings per company** (filings mode).

### Output example (financials)

```json
{
  "companyName": "Apple Inc.",
  "cik": 320193,
  "tickers": ["AAPL"],
  "industry": "Electronic Computers",
  "fiscalYear": 2025,
  "revenue": 416161000000,
  "netIncome": 112010000000,
  "netMarginPct": 26.92,
  "epsDiluted": 7.46,
  "totalAssets": 359241000000,
  "cash": 35934000000,
  "operatingCashFlow": 111482000000
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per row saved (one fiscal year or one filing). Set a maximum cost per run and the Actor stops cleanly at it.

### Notes

Figures come from companies' own XBRL filings to the SEC (full-year 10-K values). Companies occasionally report a figure under a different name; the Actor checks the common alternatives for each field. Requests follow the SEC's fair-access rules.
