## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Local Business Leads: Phones, Websites, Emails — $2 per 1,000

Find **local businesses by category and city** — plumbers in Austin, dentists in Denver, real estate agents in Miami — with phone, website, address, opening hours, socials and, where listed, email. Data comes from **OpenStreetMap**, the open map of the world, so there is no login, no blocking and no scraping of protected sites. Turn on **website enrichment** to also pull public emails, extra phones, social links and tech from each business's own website.

### Why use it

- **Cheap:** $2 per 1,000 businesses. Website enrichment is an optional +$3 per 1,000.
- **Reliable:** official open map data, not a scraped search engine.
- **Filters:** only businesses with a phone, a website or an email.
- **Exact locations:** latitude and longitude plus a link to the map entry for every business.
- **Any category:** 85 friendly category names, or any OpenStreetMap tag.

### Pricing

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Business | $2 per 1,000 ($0.002 each) |
| Website enrichment (optional) | +$3 per 1,000 ($0.003 each), only when the website was read successfully |
| Actor start | $0.00005 |

Free Apify accounts are limited to **25 businesses per run**.

### Categories

accountant, architect, bakery, bank, bar, barber, beauty salon, bed and breakfast, bicycle shop, bookstore, cafe, car dealer, car rental, car repair, car wash, carpenter, catering, chiropractor, cleaning service, clinic, clothing store, construction company, consultant, contractor, coworking, daycare, dentist, doctor, driving school, electrician, electronics store, employment agency, event venue, fast food, financial advisor, florist, food truck, funeral home, furniture store, gardener, gas station, gym, hair salon, hardware store, hostel, hotel, hvac, insurance agent, it company, jeweler, landscaper, language school, laundry, lawyer, locksmith, marketing agency, mobile phone shop, motel, motorcycle dealer, moving company, music school, notary, optician, painter, pet store, pharmacy, photographer, physiotherapist, plumber, print shop, real estate agent, restaurant, roofer, school, security company, solar installer, spa, storage, supermarket, tattoo, tire shop, travel agency, veterinarian, wedding, yoga. ### Honest limits

- **Coverage varies.** OpenStreetMap is built by volunteers: it is strong in big cities and in Europe, thinner in some regions. Many small businesses have no phone or website listed.
- **Speed.** OpenStreetMap's public servers are slow: expect about 30 to 60 seconds per category and location before results start.
- **Big areas.** Whole countries make very heavy searches. Use cities or regions.
