## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## YouTube Channel Contact Finder (Public About Page, No Login)

Give it YouTube channels. It returns what each creator **published on their public About page**: **website, social links (X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Telegram, Discord and more), and any email written in the channel description**. It reads the public page with plain HTTP. No YouTube account, no login, no cookies, no browser, no proxy.

**Price: $2.50 per 1,000 channels with contacts** ($0.0025 each) plus $0.001 per run start. You are charged **only for channels where at least one link or email was found**. Channels with no public contacts, channels that cannot be read (not found, YouTube refused the request, fetch error) and invalid inputs come back as a row and are **not charged**.

### Limits, stated plainly

- **Only what the creator made public.** The About page has a "View email address" button that needs a signed in account and a captcha. This actor does not use it, so it never returns those emails. It returns an email only when the creator wrote one in the channel description.
- **Many channels list no contacts.** In a hand check of 19 channels on 14 Oct 2026, 15 listed at least one link and only 3 showed an email in the description. Expect a share of channels to come back with no contacts, and not charged.
- **Links are as YouTube shows them.** The list can change whenever the creator edits the channel or YouTube changes its page. If YouTube changes how the page is built, this actor can return fewer fields until it is updated.
- **YouTube can refuse requests.** The actor retries a failed channel once, then reports an error row for it. Rows already returned stay in the dataset.
- **No videos, comments, subscribers lists or analytics.** Not implemented. `subscribers` is the rounded text YouTube shows, for example `375K subscribers`.
- **Channels only.** Video, playlist and search links are rejected.
- Up to 200 channels per run, read one at a time with a short pause.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `channels` | One per line: `@handle`, `handle`, or a channel link (`https://www.youtube.com/@mkbhd`, `.../channel/UC...`, `.../c/Name`, `.../user/Name`). Up to 200 per run. Duplicates are removed. |

Bad input fails the run with a clear message; a single bad entry among good ones becomes an error row.

### Output

One row per channel:

```json
{
  "channel": "@advancecryptotrader",
  "channelId": "UC...",
  "title": "Advance Crypto Trader",
  "subscribers": "375K subscribers",
  "website": null,
  "socials": { "x": "https://x.com/...", "whatsapp": "https://whatsapp.com/channel/..." },
  "emailsInDescription": ["name@example.com"],
  "links": [{ "label": "X", "url": "https://x.com/..." }],
  "contactsFound": true,
  "error": null
}
```

`website` is the first listed link that is not a known social site. `socials` keeps the first link per platform. `links` is the full list in the order YouTube shows it. Rows for channels that failed look like `{ "channel": "...", "contactsFound": false, "error": "..." }`.

### Use it from code

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/leadharbor~youtube-channel-contact-finder/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"channels":["@mkbhd","@veritasium"]}'
```

### Good to know

- Only data that YouTube shows publicly without an account is read. Email addresses and names can be personal data. Check the rules that apply to you (privacy law, YouTube's terms, anti spam law) before you contact anyone or store what you collect.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "channels": [
        "@mkbhd",
        "@veritasium"
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("leadharbor/youtube-channel-contact-finder").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
