## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Who's Hiring — Company Leads from Job Boards

**Find companies that are hiring for the roles you sell into, right now.** This Actor scans thousands of public company job boards on **Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby** and returns **one row per hiring company**. Each row shows how many matching jobs the company has open, how many were posted in the last 7 and 30 days, which departments and locations they're for, any posted salary ranges, and the company's website and careers page.

When a company is hiring SDRs, it may need sales tools. When it's hiring React developers, it may need dev agencies or contractors. When it's hiring its first data engineer, it may need data infrastructure. **Hiring is one of the strongest public buying signals**, and this Actor turns it into a lead list.

### Who it's for

- **Agencies** (recruiting, dev shops, marketing, design) looking for companies with an open need right now
- **SaaS sales teams** doing signal-based outbound: "you're hiring 4 AEs, here's how we ramp them faster"
- **Recruiters and staffing firms** looking for companies with many open roles in their specialty
- **Investors and market researchers** tracking hiring speed by role, team or location

### What you get (one row per company)

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `companyName` | Name as shown on the job board |
| `domain`, `website` | Company website, when it can be reliably identified (see limitations) |
| `careersPage` | The company's careers page (its own site when it hosts one, otherwise the public job board) |
| `atsBoardUrl`, `ats`, `boardSlug` | The public job board the data came from |
| `matchingOpenings` | Open jobs matching your keywords, location and date filters |
| `newOpenings7d`, `newOpenings30d` | Matching jobs first published in the last 7 / 30 days (hiring speed) |
| `remoteOpenings` | How many of the matching jobs are remote |
| `totalOpenJobs` | All open jobs at the company (company size and growth proxy) |
| `latestPostedAt` | Most recent matching posting |
| `matchingTitles`, `matchingLocations`, `departments` | De-duplicated summaries |
| `salaryRanges` | Pay ranges the company published (pay-transparency fields or posting text) |
| `matchingJobs[]` | Up to N newest matching jobs: title, location, remote, department, posted date, salary, link |

Use the **"Matching jobs"** dataset view to get one row per job instead. Export as CSV, Excel or JSON, or send results straight to a CRM, Google Sheets, Make, Zapier or n8n through Apify integrations.

*(Real row from a test run on 29 Oct 2026, arrays trimmed. Input: companyDomains `ramp.com`, posted within 7 days, no keyword filter.)*

### How to use it

1. Enter **job title keywords**, e.g. `SDR`, `sales development`, `account executive`.
2. Optionally narrow by **locations** (`New York`, `London`, `United States`), **remote only**, and **posted within N days**.
3. Set **minimum matching openings** (e.g. 3 or more = serious hiring) and **max companies**.
4. Run it. Results are ranked by matching openings.

**Target account mode:** paste your account list into **Only these company domains** (e.g. `stripe.com`, `ramp.com`) to see who on your list is hiring.
**Add your own boards:** paste board URLs such as `https://jobs.lever.co/palantir` into **Extra company job boards**.

### Data sources and compliance

- Data comes only from the **official public job-board APIs** that Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby provide for publishing job listings. No logins, no captchas, no LinkedIn, no Google.
- **Company-level data only.** The Actor never outputs recruiter, hiring-manager or employee names, emails or phone numbers, and it does not collect personal data.
- The built-in directory of company boards is derived from the [LastRound AI ATS Company Directory](https://github.com/fyrosofttech/lastroundai-hiring-data) (CC BY 4.0). Every board was re-verified live before inclusion.
- You are responsible for how you use the results, including outreach laws such as CAN-SPAM, GDPR/PECR and CASL.

### Pricing (pay per event)

You pay only for results:

- **Run start**: a small flat fee per run
- **Company result**: per company row returned
- **Job row**: per job detail attached to a company row (set *Max job details per company* to 0 to turn this off)

Set **Max cost per run** in Apify to cap spend. The Actor stops cleanly when it reaches the cap.

### Tips

- A full scan of the directory takes a few minutes. Use **Max boards to scan** or pick fewer platforms for faster, cheaper test runs.
- Keywords match whole words: `AE` will not match "AEROSPACE". Add several variants (`SDR`, `BDR`, `sales development`).
- Schedule the Actor daily with `postedWithinDays: 1` to get a feed of **new** hiring signals.

### Limitations

- Covers companies on Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby (mostly tech, startups and growth companies). It does not cover Workday, iCIMS or Taleo enterprise boards.
- `domain` is inferred from links in the postings and is left empty when it can't be identified reliably.
- "Posted" dates are the date each platform reports as first published. Some companies re-post jobs, which makes them look new.
- Salary ranges appear only where the company published them.

# Actor input Schema

## `titleKeywords` (type: `array`):

Return companies with open jobs whose title contains ANY of these keywords (whole-word, case-insensitive). Example: "SDR", "account executive", "React". Leave empty to match all jobs.

## `excludeTitleKeywords` (type: `array`):

Skip jobs whose title contains any of these keywords. Example: "intern", "senior director".

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose location text contains ANY of these as a whole word/phrase (case-insensitive), so "US" won't match "Austin". Example: "New York", "London", "United States", "Remote". Leave empty for worldwide.

## `remoteMode` (type: `string`):

Include all jobs, only remote jobs, or exclude remote jobs.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only count jobs first published within the last N days. 0 = any age.

## `minOpenings` (type: `integer`):

Only return companies with at least this many matching open jobs (a stronger buying signal).

## `maxCompanies` (type: `integer`):

Results are ranked by number of matching openings; only the top N companies are returned (and charged).

## `atsSources` (type: `array`):

Which public job-board platforms to scan.

## `useSeedDirectory` (type: `boolean`):

Scan the built-in directory of thousands of verified company job boards. Turn off to scan only the boards/domains you list below.

## `companyBoards` (type: `array`):

Add specific boards to scan. Accepts "greenhouse:stripe", "lever:palantir", "ashby:ramp" or board URLs such as https://jobs.lever.co/palantir, https://boards.greenhouse.io/airbnb, https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp.

## `companyDomains` (type: `array`):

Check only these companies (e.g. your target account list): stripe.com, ramp.com. Matched against the directory, otherwise the board name is guessed from the domain on every platform.

## `excludeCompanies` (type: `array`):

Skip these companies (name, domain or board slug), e.g. job aggregators, staffing firms, your existing customers or competitors. Defaults to known job aggregators (Jobgether); clear the list to include them.

## `includeJobDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Attach the matching jobs (title, location, department, date, salary, link) to each company row. Each attached job is billed as a job row.

## `maxJobsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

Cap on attached job details per company (newest first).

## `maxBoardsToScan` (type: `integer`):

Limit how many boards are scanned (largest boards first). 0 = all. Lower values make runs faster.

## `salaryLookupsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

Greenhouse only exposes pay ranges per job, so this many matching jobs per company are opened to read pay ranges and departments.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Parallel requests across all platforms. Per-platform rate limits are enforced automatically.
