## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## New Business Leads: Newly Licensed Delaware Businesses

**Every business that just got its first Delaware state business license: service firms, shops, restaurants, contractors, caregivers and online sellers across Wilmington, Dover, Newark, Lewes and the rest of the state. About 1¢ a lead.**

The Actor pulls from the **Delaware Division of Revenue's official business license records**. A Delaware license number starts with the year the business was **first licensed** (for example `2026714705`). The Actor keeps only licenses whose number matches the year their current term began, so the 40,000+ annual renewals drop out. That leaves about **1,000 genuinely new businesses a month**. Each lead has the trade name, legal or owner name, every DBA on the license, business activity, full address and license term.

👉 **Try it free:** new Apify accounts get **$5 of free credit every month**.

### Real sample leads (pulled October 2026)

| Business | Owner / legal name | Activity | City | Valid from |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Radiant Rituals LLC | Rackelle Lynch | General Services | Wilmington | 2026-10-12 |
| First Call Handyman Services | Sher A Alizai | General Services | Newark | 2026-10-10 |
| Riley's Roll-Offs | RS Waste Solutions LLC | General Services | Bear | 2026-10-06 |
| Vintage and Sand LLC | Vintage and Sand LLC | Retailer General | Wilmington | 2026-10-06 |
| Golden Bridge 1725 Inc | Golden Bridge 1725 Inc | Retailer Restaurant | Bear | 2026-10-01 |

**ROI:** 1,000 new Delaware businesses cost $10. One bookkeeping, insurance, payroll or web client pays for years of runs.

### Who uses it

Accountants, bookkeepers & payroll · business insurance · banks and merchant services · local marketing/SEO/web agencies · registered agents and business-formation services · suppliers and B2B SaaS for small businesses.

### Filters

- **States**: `DE` for in-state businesses (default). Leave empty to include out-of-state firms newly licensed in Delaware.
- **Cities** (`Wilmington`, `Dover`, `Newark`) and **ZIP codes** (`19801`)
- **Business activities** (contains): `Restaurant`, `Retailer`, `Contractor`, `General Services`, `Direct Care`
- **Exclude trade-name-only registrations** (off by default)
- License-start date range

### Set it up as a daily lead feed

1. Set your filters (or leave them empty for everything).
2. Keep **Only new since last run** on. Each run returns only leads you haven't seen.
3. Click **Schedule → Daily** and connect **Google Sheets, HubSpot, Salesforce, Slack, Zapier or Make**.

The state posts some licenses a few weeks after their start date. For daily feeds, use `"dateFrom": "60 days"`; **Only new since last run** makes sure you never pay twice for the same lead.

### Input

```json
{ "states": ["DE"], "cities": ["Wilmington", "Newark"], "dateFrom": "60 days", "onlyNew": true }
```

### Output fields

`licenseNumber, businessName, legalName, tradeNames, category, address, city, state, zip, country, validFrom, validTo, firstLicensedYear, latitude, longitude, source`. Export as CSV, Excel or JSON, or pull it through the API.

### Pricing

Pay per result: **$0.01 per lead** ($10 per 1,000). No subscription.

### FAQ

**Where does the data come from?** The "Delaware Business Licenses" dataset on data.delaware.gov, published by the Department of Finance, Division of Revenue, and updated daily.
**How do you know a license is new and not a renewal?** Delaware license numbers begin with the year the business was first licensed. The Actor only returns licenses whose first-licensed year equals the year their current term started.
**Why one lead per license when there are several DBAs?** Multiple trade names on the same license are merged into `tradeNames`, so you pay once per business.
**Does it include phone numbers?** The state doesn't publish them. Enrich with your usual tool.
