## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## New Construction Leads: Mesa, AZ Building Permits with Contractor Contacts

**Every new home, ADU, manufactured home and new commercial building the City of Mesa permits. Contractor name, phone, email and AZ ROC license are included whenever the city has them. About 2¢ a lead.**

The Actor pulls from the **City of Mesa's official Building Permits open data**, updated daily. By default it returns **new construction only**, which is about **30–40 permits a month**. Turn that filter off to get **every newly issued permit**, about **350+ a month**, including pools, remodels, electrical, solar, tenant improvements and signs. Each lead includes the permit number, issue date, work type, full scope description, address, council district, parcel, valuation and square footage. When the permit lists a contractor, you also get the **contractor's company name, phone, email, mailing address and ROC license number**.

👉 **Try it free:** new Apify accounts get **$5 of free platform credit every month**, enough for hundreds of leads.

### Real sample leads (pulled October 2026)

### FAQ

**Where does the data come from?** The City of Mesa "Building Permits" dataset on citydata.mesaaz.gov, published by the city and updated daily.
**Does every permit have a phone number?** No. Owner-builders and many production-home permits list no contractor. Turn on "Only permits with contractor phone or email" to keep only contactable leads, or turn off "New construction only" to get many more trade permits, which usually list a contractor.
**Are these new permits or old ones being updated?** They are filtered by **issue date**, so you only get permits that were just issued.

**Need another city?** Request it in the Issues tab.
