## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## New Restaurant & Bar Leads Before They Open (Texas)

**One new restaurant account can be worth thousands a year. This feed finds them for about 2¢ each, weeks before their doors open.**

Every bar, restaurant, brewery, hotel bar and convenience store in Texas has to apply for a liquor license with the **Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC)** before it opens. This Actor turns those official applications into a **daily lead feed**: business name, owning LLC, full address, county, ZIP+4, license type and application date.

👉 **Try it free:** new Apify accounts get **$5 of free platform credit every month**, enough for hundreds of leads. Click **Try for free**, pick your cities and hit Start.

### Real sample leads (pulled October 2026)

| Business | Owner | City | License | Applied |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dan Electro's | Splice Records LLC | Houston | Mixed Beverage (bar/restaurant) | 2026-10-09 |
| SpringHill Suites | Capital One Evolution Management LLC | Houston | Mixed Beverage | 2026-10-08 |
| Sprig's Market | Berkman C Store Inc | Austin | Wine & Beer on-premise | 2026-10-08 |
| Happy Hours Daiquiris | CM Ross Enterprise LLC | Houston | Wine & Beer on-premise | 2026-10-08 |
| It's Italian Cucina | Lola's CC LLC | Austin | Mixed Beverage | 2026-10-07 |

### Who uses it

- **POS & payments** (Toast, Square, Clover resellers): pitch before they pick a system.
- **Beer, wine & spirits distributors and brand reps**: get on the opening menu.
- **Food service, equipment, linen, cleaning, pest control and supplies**.
- **Liquor liability & commercial insurance agents**: every permit needs coverage.
- **Staffing, marketing agencies, signage, music licensing, hospitality SaaS, commercial real estate**.

### Set it up as a daily lead feed

1. Choose your **cities, counties or license types** (or leave empty for all of Texas).
2. Keep **Only new since last run** on. Each run returns only applications you haven't seen.
3. Click **Schedule → Daily**. Then connect **Google Sheets, HubSpot, Salesforce, Slack, Zapier or Make**, and fresh leads land in your tools every morning.

Runs with nothing new cost almost nothing, because you only pay for the leads you get.

### Input

```json
{ "cities": ["Austin", "Houston"], "licenseTypes": ["MB", "BG"], "dateFrom": "30 days", "onlyNew": true, "maxItems": 1000 }
```

License codes: **MB** mixed beverage (bars, full-service restaurants) · **BG** wine & beer on-premise (restaurants, cafés) · **BQ/BF** off-premise (convenience & grocery) · **P** package (liquor) store · **FB** food & beverage certificate · **LH** late hours · **LP** local distributor · **NT** nonprofit temporary event · **BW** brewer · **BP** brewpub · **G** winery. When TABC leaves the trade name blank (common on NT event permits), `tradeName` falls back to the owner and `tradeNameIsOwner` is `true`.

### Output fields

`applicationId, tradeName, owner, address, city, county, state, zip, licenseType, licenseTypeName, applicationStatus, submissionDate, primaryLicenseId, subordinateLicenseId, masterFileId, source`. Export as CSV, Excel, JSON or through the API.

### Pricing

Pay per result: **$0.02 per lead** ($20 per 1,000). No subscription, and runs with nothing new cost almost nothing.

### FAQ

**Where does the data come from?** TABC's public open-data portal (data.texas.gov), which TABC updates daily. It's official public data, published for reuse.
**How early are the leads?** Applications are filed before a permit is issued, so usually weeks to months before opening.
**Does it include phone or email?** TABC doesn't publish them. Enrich the owner LLC with the Texas Secretary of State or Comptroller lookups, or with your enrichment tool.
**Can I get only bars and restaurants?** Yes. Filter to license types `MB` and `BG`.
**Other states?** More are coming. Request yours in the Issues tab.
**How do I stop getting duplicates?** Keep "Only new since last run" on. Use a different dedupe store name for each separate feed.
