## Pricing

from $3.60 / 1,000 new carrier records

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## New Motor Carriers: Newly Registered Trucking Companies

*Unofficial tool. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), or any government agency. No government seals or logos are used.*

Export every USDOT number added to the public carrier census file in a date window, newest first. It's for freight brokers screening new entrants, truck insurance, ELD, fuel-card and factoring providers sizing new markets, and analysts tracking new-carrier formation by state.

**Input:** a window on the USDOT add date (`daysBack`, or `since` / `until`), states, for-hire class, operation, entity type, hazmat and fleet size.

**Output:** one row per new USDOT record: USDOT number, legal and DBA name (see Privacy), add date, status, operation, entity types, for-hire classification, MC dockets, city / state / ZIP5, fleet size, cargo classes, hazmat flag and **vetting flags**.

New USDOT records often have no operating authority or insurance yet. **Confirm on the official SAFER company snapshot and licensing & insurance records** before doing business with a carrier.

### Input

- `daysBack`: 1 to 366 (default 7), or `since` and `until` as YYYY-MM-DD (window up to 366 days)
- `forHire`: `yes` (AUTHORIZED FOR HIRE only), `no`, or `any`
- `states`, `usdotStatus`, `operation`, `entityType`, `hazmat`, `minPowerUnits`, `maxPowerUnits`
- `maxResults`: up to 50,000

The census file usually trails new registrations by about one day, so today's registrations appear tomorrow.

### Output fields

`type`, `dot_number`, `legal_name`, `dba_name`, `name_withheld`, `likely_individual_or_sole_proprietor`, `business_type`, `usdot_status`, `operation`, `entity_types`, `authority_class`, `dockets`, `physical_address`, `mailing_address`, `undeliverable_address`, `fleet`, `hazmat`, `cargo`, `cargo_other`, `mcs150`, `added_date`, `safety`, `prior_revoked`, `snapshot_url`, `vetting_flags`, `confirm_at`

**Privacy.** This is a business feed, not a contact list. Officer names, phone, fax, cell phone, email and D\&B numbers are never returned. The street line and ZIP+4 are withheld on **every** record (city, state and ZIP5 stay). For records that look like individuals or sole proprietors, the legal and DBA names are withheld too. Registered names of individuals are available only through an exact USDOT or MC lookup.

**Opt-out.** Removal requests: support@lepidata.com. Requests are handled within 30 days; opted-out carriers are dropped from every result.

Free status rows (not charged): `no-results`, `invalid-input`, `api-error`, `free-plan-limit`, `charge-limit-reached`.

**Example:** `{"daysBack":7,"states":["TX"],"forHire":"yes","maxResults":500}`

### Not a consumer report

Not a consumer report. Lepidata is not a consumer reporting agency. Do not use this data to decide credit, insurance, employment or housing eligibility for an individual.

You are responsible for your own CAN-SPAM, TCPA and do-not-call compliance when contacting any business found here.

### Data source and compliance

- Source credit: the Company Census File (dataset az4n-8mr2) on the U.S. Department of Transportation open data portal, data.transportation.gov (FMCSA data). US government public data, updated daily. Requests are spaced at least 1 second apart, following the portal's robots.txt.
- Unofficial data. Confirm on the official SAFER company snapshot before relying on it. Not legal, safety or insurance advice.
- Free-plan accounts get up to 100 results per run.

**Pricing.** Pay per result: $3.60 per 1,000 carriers ($0.0036 each), the same price on every plan, no start fee. Free status rows are never charged.
