## Pricing

from $0.88 / 1,000 launches

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What is Product Hunt Scraper?

**Product Hunt Scraper** exports Product Hunt launches to JSON, CSV or Excel: the daily **Product of the Day** leaderboard, weekly, monthly and yearly leaderboards, any date range, topics, categories, product pages and single launch URLs. Every launch comes with its **rank, upvotes, comments, website, topics, makers (with their X and LinkedIn), hunter and badges** — no login, no Product Hunt API key, no developer token.

It reads the same data the Product Hunt website loads in your browser, so a full daily leaderboard (30–40 featured launches) arrives in about 3 seconds and a whole month (700+ launches) in about 25 seconds.

- 📅 **Any leaderboard:** a day, a week (`2026-W42`), a month (`2026-09`), a year, or a range like 1–31 October.
- 🏷️ **Topics and categories:** "AI launches of last week", "top Fintech launches of all time", "latest launches in AI Agents".
- 🔗 **URLs:** paste leaderboard, product, launch, topic or category links in any mix.
- 👥 **Makers included free:** name, username, profile, headline and the X / LinkedIn / website links from their Product Hunt profile.
- 📇 **Optional website contacts ($):** e-mails, phones and social profiles from each product's own website.
- ✅ Error rows and empty results are never charged, and the run never fails on bad input — you get a free row explaining what to fix.

### What data can Product Hunt Scraper extract?

### How much does it cost to scrape Product Hunt?

Pay per event — you pay only for launches delivered to your dataset:

| Event | Price (Free plan) | Bronze | Silver | Gold+ |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| **Launch** | $0.00126 | $0.00113 | $0.00101 | $0.00088 |
| **Add-on: Website contacts** (only when an e-mail or phone was found) | $0.00126 | $0.00126 | $0.00126 | $0.00126 |

- **About 790 launches for $1** on the Free plan, about 1,130 on Gold.
- The Apify **Free plan's $5 monthly credit covers about 3,900 launches** — a full year of daily top-10 lists, for example.
- One daily leaderboard costs about **$0.04**, a full month (≈700 launches) about **$0.90**.
- No start fee. Error rows, "no results" rows and the summary row are free. Set **Max cost per run** and the Actor stops cleanly at your budget — the run stays green and everything written is paid for.

### How to scrape Product Hunt

1. Open the Actor and enter a date in **📅 Leaderboard dates** (for example `2026-10-21` or `yesterday`).
2. Pick a **📊 Leaderboard**: daily, weekly, monthly or yearly.
3. Optionally add **🏷️ Topics**, **🗂️ Categories** or **🔗 Product Hunt URLs**, and filters like **💯 Minimum upvotes**.
4. Click **Start**. Download the results as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or read them through the API.

Leave the form empty and the Actor runs a demo: yesterday's daily leaderboard.

}
```
With **📇 Add website contacts** on, rows also get `websiteEmails` (e.g. `["support@band.ai", "security@band.ai"]`), `websitePhones`, `websiteSocials` (`github`, `linkedin`, `x`…), `contactFormUrl` and `hasWebsiteContacts`. In our test on the 21 October leaderboard, 13 of the top 15 products had an e-mail or phone on their website.
Fields that Product Hunt leaves empty for a launch (no LinkedIn, no reviews) are left out of that row instead of being written as `null`.
### Use cases
#### Investors and VC scouts
Pull every launch with 300+ upvotes each week, sort by upvotes and comments, and screen new companies before they raise. The `makers` list gives you the founders' LinkedIn and X in the same row.
#### Lead generation and sales teams
Every new launch is a company that just shipped and wants attention. Export yesterday's launches with **website contacts** and reach the makers while the launch is fresh. Filter by topic (`developer-tools`, `marketing`, `fintech`) to match your product.
#### Marketers and founders planning a launch
Study what wins Product of the Day in your topic: taglines, descriptions, launch days, upvote and comment counts, how many makers the top launches list.
#### Researchers and journalists
Download a whole year or a range of months to track trends — how many AI launches per month, which topics grow, which products launch again and again (`launchNumber`).
#### AI agents and LLM apps
The Actor works as a tool for AI agents through the Apify MCP server: one call with `dates`, `topics` or `startUrls` returns clean JSON with stable field names — ready for RAG, newsletters ("today's top 10 launches") or market maps.
### Integrations
- **API:** start a run and read the dataset with one HTTP request — `POST https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/lergassy~product-hunt-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=…` with the input as the JSON body.
- **Python and JavaScript:** the `apify-client` packages (`client.actor("lergassy/product-hunt-scraper").call(run_input=…)`).
- **No-code:** Make, Zapier, n8n and Google Sheets through Apify integrations — e.g. a daily schedule that adds yesterday's top 10 launches to a sheet or a Slack channel.
- **Schedules:** run it every morning with `dates: ["yesterday"]` and get each new leaderboard automatically.
- **MCP:** add `lergassy/product-hunt-scraper` to the Apify MCP server and let Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor fetch Product Hunt data on request.
### Migrating from another Product Hunt scraper?
Most Product Hunt scrapers use similar inputs. Map them like this:
| Their field | Here |
|---|---|
| `target: daily / weekly / monthly / yearly` | `leaderboard` |
| `startDate` / `endDate`, `startWeek`… `endYear`, `date` | `dateFrom` / `dateTo`, or `dates` (`2026-W42`, `2026-10`, `2026`) |
| `topicSlugs`, `topic` | `topics` |
| `categorySlugs` | `categories` |
| `productHuntPageUrls`, `startUrls`, `urls` | `startUrls` |
| `maxNbItemsToScrape`, `maxItems`, `maxProducts`, `maxPosts` | `maxItems` |
| `minUpvotes` | `minUpvotes` |
| `shouldScrapeOnlyFeaturedLaunches`, `featuredOnly`, `scrapeOnlyFeatured` | `featuredOnly` |
| `shouldScrapeWebsite`, `enrichEmails`, `enrichWithEmail` | `includeWebsiteContacts` |
| `sortBy: votes` | `sortBy: "upvotes"` |
Makers come in every row at no extra cost — there is no separate "makers" switch.
### Troubleshooting
- **A free row says a date is "in the future" or "not a real date".** Use `2026-10-21`, `2026-W42`, `2026-10` or `2026`. Product Hunt days run on US Pacific time, so "today" may still be yesterday's date in Asia.
- **"No launches for …".** The leaderboard exists but nothing passed your filters (for example `minUpvotes` too high, or the topic had no launches that day). Nothing is charged.
- **A topic or category is not found.** Copy the slug from the Product Hunt URL: `producthunt.com/topics/developer-tools` → `developer-tools`.
- **The weekly leaderboard stops at about 200 launches.** That is all Product Hunt lists on a featured weekly leaderboard. Daily leaderboards have 20–40 featured launches; with `featuredOnly: false` a single day has 1,000–1,500 launches (most with 1–5 upvotes), so set `maxItems` or `minUpvotes`.
- **Website contacts are missing for some launches.** Some sites have no public e-mail or phone, or the "website" is an app-store or GitHub page; those launches are not charged for the add-on.
### ❓ FAQ
#### Is it legal to scrape Product Hunt?
The Actor collects only public information that Product Hunt shows to every visitor without logging in. Makers' names and social links are personal data in some jurisdictions (GDPR, CCPA): have a legitimate reason to process them, respect opt-outs and do not send unsolicited bulk e-mail. Check Product Hunt's terms for your use case; if unsure, ask a lawyer.
#### Do I need a Product Hunt account or API token?
No. The Actor does not log in and needs no keys.
#### How fresh is the data?
Live: upvotes and comments are read at the moment of the run. Today's leaderboard keeps changing until midnight Pacific time.
#### What is the difference between "upvotes" and the rank?
`upvotes` is the vote count. `rank` is the position Product Hunt gives the launch on that leaderboard, which also weighs other signals, so a launch with fewer upvotes can rank higher.
#### Can I get non-featured launches?
Yes — set `featuredOnly` to `false`, or add `/all` to a leaderboard URL.
#### How many launches can I get in one run?
Up to 100,000 (`maxItems`); a date range can cover up to 400 leaderboards per run.
### Your feedback
Found a bug, a missing field or a Product Hunt page that does not work? Open an issue on the Actor's **Issues** tab — we read every one and usually fix within a day. A short review helps other users find a scraper that works.
# Actor input Schema
## `dates` (type: `array`):
Give this, a date range, topics, categories or URLs. Each value is one leaderboard: 2026-10-21 (a day — or the week/month/year containing it, per "Leaderboard"), 2026-W42 (a week), 2026-10 (a month), 2026 (a year), or yesterday, today, last-week, last-month. Product Hunt days are US Pacific time.
## `leaderboard` (type: `string`):
Which leaderboard a plain date (2026-10-21) and the date range mean: the day itself, or the week / month / year that contains it. 2026-W42, 2026-10 and 2026 always mean a week, month and year.
## `dateFrom` (type: `string`):
Optional range instead of single dates: every daily (or weekly / monthly / yearly, per "Leaderboard") leaderboard from this date to "Date to". At most 400 leaderboards per run.
## `dateTo` (type: `string`):
End of the range (inclusive). Empty = today.
## `topics` (type: `array`):
Topic slugs, names or URLs: artificial-intelligence, Developer Tools, producthunt.com/topics/fintech. With dates or a range: those leaderboards filtered to the topic. Without dates: the topic's top launches of all time by upvotes.
## `categories` (type: `array`):
Category slugs or URLs, e.g. ai-agents or producthunt.com/categories/ai-agents. Returns the latest launch of every product in the category, sorted by "Category sort".
## `startUrls` (type: `array`):
Any mix of Product Hunt pages: leaderboards (/leaderboard/daily/2026/10/21, add /all for non-featured), launches (/posts/slug or /products/x/launches/slug), products (/products/notion → all its launches), topics and categories. Bare launch slugs work too.
## `featuredOnly` (type: `boolean`):
On: only launches Product Hunt featured on its homepage (what the leaderboard shows by default). Off: every launch of the period, featured or not. Product URLs always return all their launches.
## `minUpvotes` (type: `integer`):
Only launches with at least this many upvotes. Launches below it are skipped and never charged.
## `sortBy` (type: `string`):
Order of launches inside each leaderboard. Rank is Product Hunt's own order (Product of the Day #1, #2…).
## `categorySort` (type: `string`):
Order of products on category pages, the same choices as on producthunt.com/categories/…
## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):
Stop after this many launches in total. Only delivered launches are charged.
## `maxPerSource` (type: `integer`):
Top N of every leaderboard, topic, category or product, e.g. 10 = the top 10 of each day. Empty or 0 = no per-source limit.
## `includeWebsiteContacts` (type: `boolean`):
Paid add-on: visits each launch's website (home page plus contact / about / team pages) and adds the e-mails, phone numbers, social profiles and contact-form URL found there. Charged per launch only when at least one e-mail or phone was found. Makers' X and LinkedIn from Product Hunt are always included free.
## `maxContactPages` (type: `integer`):
For the contacts add-on: the home page plus up to this many minus one contact-like pages per website.
## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):
Leave as is: the Actor picks the cheapest proxy Product Hunt accepts and switches to residential by itself only when needed. If you choose proxy groups or your own proxy URLs, exactly those are used.
## `includeRunSummary` (type: `boolean`):
One extra free row at the end with the run's totals: rows delivered, free rows, what was charged and how much in US dollars. It carries type "notice", so a filter on the data rows skips it. Switch off if your pipeline cannot tolerate an extra row.
```

# Actor output Schema

## `rows` (type: `string`):

One row per Product Hunt launch: rank, name, tagline, description, upvotes, comments, launch date, website, topics, makers, hunter, badges, thumbnail. Free rows with type "error" explain inputs that gave nothing.

## `runSummary` (type: `string`):

JSON counters for the run: launches delivered, sources, pages read, filtered out, proxy used and its estimated cost.
