## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Bexar County TX Liens: UCC, Tax, Mechanics & Judgments

Search **Bexar County, Texas** recorded liens, judgments, federal and state tax liens, mechanics liens, hospital liens, lis pendens and UCC real-property filings by party name or exact document number. Get the grantors, grantees, debtors, secured parties, recording dates, legal descriptions, book/page references and county document numbers as flat rows.

Bexar County is the **San Antonio** recording jurisdiction and a separate county clerk index from Harris, Johnson, Travis, Dallas, Tarrant or any other Texas county. Data comes from the **Bexar County Clerk Real Property Records** public search directly. It is **not** the Texas Secretary of State UCC system, not a title company, and not a national lien database.

Here is one real record from this actor. `source_page`, `source_url` are left out of this example and included in your dataset.

### Input and filters

All inputs are optional.

| Field | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| `partyNames` | array | no | (none) | Names to search, up to 20. Partial names are supported, for example SMITH, FROST BANK or INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE. Each name is searched on both the grantor and grantee side and results are deduplicated. |
| `partyRole` | string | no | `"any"` | Match the name as grantor, grantee, or either side. For most liens the grantor is the debtor and the grantee is the claimant or secured party; releases reverse that direction. Values: `any`, `grantor`, `grantee`. |
| `documentNumbers` | array | no | (none) | Optional Bexar County Clerk document or instrument numbers, up to 20. Use this to verify a known filing. |
| `docTypeFamilies` | array | no | (none) | Recorded families to include. Leave empty for all lien families. Allowed values: ucc, tax_lien, judgment, mechanics, lien, lis_pendens, release. |
| `includeReleases` | boolean | no | `false` | When enabled, also return recorded releases and satisfactions for federal tax liens, state tax liens, hospital liens and judgments. Releases are marked is_release=true. |
| `dateFrom` | string | no | (none) | Earliest recorded date in YYYY-MM-DD format. Leave empty for the last 30 days when no search term is given, or the last 10 years when searching by name or document number. |

- **KYB and due diligence:** inspect the parties, legal description and document history behind a recorded lien.

### Coverage and freshness

**Lien families covered**

| Family | Bexar County Clerk codes | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| `ucc` | `UCC1 RP`, `UCC3RP`, `UCC`, `UCC SE` | UCC financing statements, continuations, amendments and secured-interest filings recorded in the real-property index |

Deeds, deeds of trust, mortgages, plats, probate, marriage, assumed-name and military-discharge records are **not** returned.

**Party direction**

For most liens, judgments, tax liens and UCC initial filings the Clerk indexes the **debtor as grantor** and the **claimant, lienholder or secured party as grantee**. The actor exposes both the raw grantor/grantee arrays and the normalized `debtor_*` and `secured_party_*` fields.

Releases and satisfactions reverse the direction: the lienholder or taxing authority files the release as grantor and the debtor appears as grantee. Those rows use `party_direction=grantor_creditor`, and the actor maps the debtor and secured party accordingly. Lis pendens and UCC3 amendments can be filed by either side, so they are marked `mixed` and the actor does not guess a debtor beyond the published grantor/grantee order.

- Data comes from the public search directly.
- Recording lag and Clerk corrections are possible. Re-run before relying on a lien status, and verify the recorded document with the Bexar County Clerk when the result will be used in a legal or financial decision.
- The public index may truncate very long party lists. Rows set `parties_truncated=true` when the Clerk publishes an "and N more" marker.

This actor returns **public recorded-index data** for business, lending, collections, KYB and property-research use. It does not return Social Security numbers, phone numbers, email addresses or other contact data, does not download document images, and is not a consumer report under the FCRA. It is not legal advice and is not a title examination. Verify every record with the Bexar County Clerk before using it in a legal, lending or title decision.

The actor is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Bexar County or the Bexar County Clerk.

### Pricing

This actor uses pay-per-event pricing. These are the current Apify prices, read on 2026-11-06.

| Event | Price | When it is charged |
|---|---|---|
| `result` | $0.015 | Each record delivered to your dataset |
| `apify-actor-start` | $0.003 | When a run starts, once per GB of run memory with a minimum of one |

At the default 512 MB, a run that delivers 100 records costs $1.503.

- Apify asks for a maximum spend of at least $0.018 per run on this actor.
- Accounts on the free Apify plan receive up to 10 results per run.
- If nothing matches or the source fails, you get one row with an `error` field and no `result` charge. The start event still applies to the run.
- Set a maximum cost per run and the actor stops delivering results when it reaches that limit.

### Comparison with other Apify actors

No dedicated actor for this source on the Apify Store as of November 2026. We searched the public Store on 2026-11-06 with queries including "Bexar County Texas lien", "Bexar County recorder" and "Bexar County ucc", and we reviewed the listings for this source and data type. Broader actors exist: `shelvick/property-deed-records` searches deed and lien records from county recorder indexes and `regdata/us-county-recorded-documents` lists county clerk records in TX, OH and MI. Their listings do not name this source, so we could not confirm that they cover it. Store listings change, so run the same search before you rely on this.
