## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

### Use cases

- Check Lexington fixture filings and federal tax liens with raw and normalized instrument types.
- **UCC fixture and secured-interest monitoring:** find new fixture filings against businesses and property owners in Fayette County.
- **Federal and state tax-lien alerts:** monitor new IRS and Kentucky Department of Revenue liens and releases.
- **Lien due diligence:** pull the recorded chain for a debtor, lender, property or instrument number.
- **Lead research:** identify businesses and property owners with newly recorded secured debt or tax liens.

### Coverage and freshness

Fayette County, Kentucky (Lexington-Fayette Urban County).

The actor covers the recorded instruments where the public index publishes the parties needed for a lien record:

| Family | Instruments |
|---|---|
| UCC fixture | `FIXTURE AND UCC`, `FIX AMENDMENT`, `FIX AMED TERM`, `FIX PART REL`, `UCC FIX ASSGNMT` |
| Federal tax | `FED LIEN`, `FED TAX RELEASE` |
| Kentucky state tax | `STATE TAX LIEN`, `STATE TAX REL` |

The public index does **not** publish a claimant or creditor for mechanics liens, judgment liens, local-county liens or lis pendens, so those families are not sold as two-party lien records. Deeds, mortgages, releases of mortgage, plats, easements, leases, powers of attorney, military discharges and other non-lien instruments are never returned.

Data comes from the public Fayette County index at run time. The index displays its last verified recording date on the public search page. Records appear after the county indexes them; same-day filings can lag.

### Pricing

This actor uses pay-per-event pricing. These are the current Apify prices, read on 2026-11-06.

| Event | Price | When it is charged |
|---|---|---|
| `result` | $0.015 | Each record delivered to your dataset |
| `apify-actor-start` | $0.003 | When a run starts, once per GB of run memory with a minimum of one |

At the default 512 MB, a run that delivers 100 records costs $1.503.

- Apify asks for a maximum spend of at least $0.018 per run on this actor.
- Accounts on the free Apify plan receive up to 10 results per run.
- If nothing matches or the source fails, you get one row with an `error` field and no `result` charge. The start event still applies to the run.
- Set a maximum cost per run and the actor stops delivering results when it reaches that limit.

### Comparison with other Apify actors

No dedicated actor for this source on the Apify Store as of November 2026. We searched the public Store on 2026-11-06 with queries including "Fayette County Kentucky lien", "Fayette County recorder" and "Fayette County ucc", and we reviewed the listings for this source and data type. Broader actors exist: `shelvick/property-deed-records` searches deed and lien records from county recorder indexes. Their listings do not name this source, so we could not confirm that they cover it. Store listings change, so run the same search before you rely on this.

### FAQ

**Does this cover Kentucky statewide UCC filings?**

No. This is the Fayette County Clerk recorded-document index. Kentucky statewide UCC filings are a separate source.

**Does it cover mechanics or judgment liens?**

Those instruments are recorded in Fayette County, but the public index does not publish the claimant or creditor for them. This actor returns only families where the debtor and claimant sides are available, so it does not sell one-sided mechanics or judgment records.

**Why is the secured party for a federal tax lien shown as INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE?**

The public index records the taxpayer but not the agency on those instruments. The actor marks the claimant `inferred_from_document_type` and keeps the published grantor and grantee lists so the inference is visible.

**Can I look up one instrument number?**

Yes. Put the 12-digit instrument number in `documentNumbers`.

**Does it return document images?**

No. It returns the public index fields and a link to the public detail page. Images and certified copies are not downloaded.

**Is this a consumer credit report?**

No. It returns public recorded documents for research and workflow automation. It is not a consumer report under the FCRA and must not be used to decide credit, employment, housing or insurance eligibility.
