## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Hamilton County OH Tax Liens: Delinquent Owners & Amounts

Find Hamilton County, Ohio properties with an unpaid property-tax balance. Search by owner name or parcel ID, filter by amount owed or market value, and get the owner, mailing address, property address, legal description, values and the published delinquent balance as flat rows.

Every row is a Hamilton County parcel with a positive published delinquent-tax balance.

Here is one real record from this actor. `source_page`, `source_url` are left out of this example and included in your dataset.

### Input and filters

All inputs are optional.

| Field | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| `ownerNames` | array | no | (none) | Owner names to search, up to 20. Partial names are supported, for example SMITH, AMRAI or PROPERTIES. Each name is searched separately and results are deduplicated. |
| `parcelNumbers` | array | no | (none) | Exact Hamilton County parcel, auditor parcel, property or group-parcel IDs, up to 20. Use this to check a known property. |
| `minDelinquentAmount` | integer | no | `0` | Only return parcels with a published delinquent-tax balance at or above this amount. Use 0 for all delinquent parcels. |
| `minMarketValue` | integer | no | `0` | Only return parcels whose published total market value is at or above this amount. Use 0 for all values. |
| `sortBy` | string | no | `"amount_desc"` | Order the returned parcels by delinquent balance or parcel ID. Values: `amount_desc`, `amount_asc`, `parcel`. |
| `maxFilings` | integer | no | `25` | Maximum number of delinquent parcels to return and charge. Free Apify users receive up to 10 results per run. |

A working example to paste into the Input tab:

```json
{
  "ownerNames": [
    "SMITH"
  ],
  "minDelinquentAmount": 1000,
  "maxFilings": 10
}
```

### Use cases

- Rank Cincinnati-area delinquent parcels by balance and contact owners at their separate mailing addresses.
- **Tax-lien and tax-sale researchers** building a Hamilton County working list by amount owed.
- **Property-tax lenders and servicers** monitoring delinquency on a known parcel.
- **Real-estate attorneys and title researchers** checking unpaid taxes before a transaction.
- **Investors and developers** screening by market value and delinquent balance.

### Coverage and freshness

- **126,000 parcels** in the current CAGIS Hamilton County parcel service.
- **8,287 parcels** carry a positive delinquent-tax balance; **8,281 distinct parcel IDs** because a few condominium parcels have more than one unit row.
- Total published delinquency is about **$28.7 million**, with an average balance of about **$3,463** and a range from **$0.01 to $363,292.73**.
- **5,199 parcels** owe at least **$1,000**.

It publishes a delinquent-tax balance, not a recorded lien instrument. There is no lien instrument number, recording date or filing book/page in this dataset, and the actor does not invent one. The lien holder is recorded as **Hamilton County, Ohio** because the unpaid charge is owed to the county.

### Pricing

This actor uses pay-per-event pricing. These are the current Apify prices, read on 2026-11-06.

| Event | Price | When it is charged |
|---|---|---|
| `result` | $0.015 | Each record delivered to your dataset |
| `apify-actor-start` | $0.003 | When a run starts, once per GB of run memory with a minimum of one |

At the default 512 MB, a run that delivers 100 records costs $1.503.

- Apify asks for a maximum spend of at least $0.018 per run on this actor.
- Accounts on the free Apify plan receive up to 10 results per run.
- If nothing matches or the source fails, you get one row with an `error` field and no `result` charge. The start event still applies to the run.
- Set a maximum cost per run and the actor stops delivering results when it reaches that limit.

### Comparison with other Apify actors

No dedicated actor for this source on the Apify Store as of November 2026. We searched the public Store on 2026-11-06 with queries including "Hamilton County Ohio tax", "Hamilton County delinquent tax" and "Hamilton County tax sale", and we reviewed the listings for this source and data type. Broader actors exist: `outstanding_vegetable/tax-sale-monitor-southeast` watches tax sale portals in 170 counties in FL, OH, CO, AZ, MD, NJ, NY and NE. Their listings do not name this source, so we could not confirm that they cover it. Store listings change, so run the same search before you rely on this.

### FAQ

**Is this a credit report?**

No. This is public-record research from a county parcel and tax dataset.

**Is the amount a filed lien amount?**

No. It is the county's published delinquent property-tax balance for the parcel. Hamilton County records actual lien instruments in a separate office, and this dataset does not publish an instrument number or recording date. Use this actor for delinquency screening and parcel-level research, not as a title examination.

**Can I search by owner?**

Yes. Add one or more names to `ownerNames`. Partial names work, so `SMITH` returns every matching owner line and `PROPERTIES` returns business owners with that word in the name.

**Can I look up one parcel?**

Yes. Put the 12-digit parcel ID, 11-digit auditor parcel ID, 14-digit property ID or group parcel ID in `parcelNumbers`.

**Are the amounts final payoff figures?**

No. Treat them as published at the time of the run. Confirm a payoff with the tax office before relying on it.
