## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Harris County TX UCC & Lien Filings: Debtors, Lenders & Documents

Search Harris County, Texas public lien records by debtor, secured party or exact file number. Get the filing number, filing date, document type, every named debtor and secured party, the legal description, page count and a public document link in one clean JSON record.

This actor covers the Harris County Clerk's public real-property index for **UCC financing statements**, **federal tax liens**, **mechanics and materialman's lien contracts** and **lien affidavits**. It is built for Houston-area lending, credit, collections, construction and due-diligence teams that need recent lien activity without reading the county index by hand.

### What you get

- **Filing number** and **filing date** exactly as published.
- **Document type** and normalized **lien category**: `ucc`, `federal_tax_lien` or `mechanics_lien`.
- **Debtor / grantor names** and **secured party / grantee names**, including every party on the filing.
- **Legal description** (subdivision, lot, block, section, tract or abstract) when the county publishes it.
- **Page count**, **film code** and a **public document viewer link** when available.
- **County and state** fields, source URL and observation timestamp.
- Flat snake_case JSON that opens directly in Excel, Google Sheets or your CRM.

### Who it is for

- **MCA and ISO brokers** — find merchants with new UCC financing statements and identify the incumbent funder from the secured party name.
- **Equipment finance, factoring and commercial lenders** — monitor competitor secured-party activity in Harris County.
- **Credit, collections and recovery teams** — spot federal tax liens and mechanics liens against businesses and property owners.
- **Construction suppliers and subcontractors** — source mechanics lien and lien affidavit filings by owner, contractor or project.
- **KYB, legal and due-diligence teams** — verify the parties, dates and document trail behind a Harris County filing.

### How to use it

1. Add one or more **debtor / grantor names** (for an individual use `LAST FIRST`, for a business use the full name).
2. Or add one or more **secured party / grantee names** to find every filing where that lender or funder appears.
3. Or paste exact **Harris County file numbers** for a precise lookup.
4. Choose a **lien type**: all, UCC, federal tax liens or mechanics liens.
5. Set a **filing date range** and a **maximum number of filings**.

Each name is searched separately and results are deduplicated, so the same name in two lists is not charged twice. File-number lookups ignore the date range. Free Apify users receive up to 10 results per run.

### Coverage and limits

- **Jurisdiction:** Harris County, Texas (Houston).
- **Records:** UCC financing statements, federal tax liens, mechanics and materialman's lien contracts, and lien affidavits from the county's public real-property index.
- **Dates:** the county index retains records back to the 1990s; use a wide date range for older filings.
- **Result page:** the public index returns up to **200 rows per query**. For a very common name, narrow the name or date range to see the full set. The actor reports when a query reaches the source page limit.
- **Party detail:** the index publishes party names and legal descriptions, not mailing addresses. Use the document link for the recorded image.
- **Freshness:** records are read from the county's current public index at run time.

### FAQ

**Is this a consumer credit report?** No. It is a public-record research tool. Do not use it for credit, employment, housing or tenant decisions regulated by the FCRA.

**Does it return every party on a filing?** Yes, every debtor/grantor and secured party/grantee name published on the result row is returned.

**Does it include addresses?** The Harris County index publishes party names and legal descriptions, not mailing addresses. The public document link opens the recorded image when the county provides one.

**Why did I get fewer than my maximum?** The public index returns up to 200 rows per query, or there may be no matching records for that name and date range. Narrow the name or widen the dates and run again.

**Why is a file-number lookup outside my date range?** Exact file-number lookups are intentionally not date-limited; the number already identifies the filing.

**Can I search by lender?** Yes. Add the lender to **secured party / grantee names** to find every filing where it appears.
