## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Mississippi UCC Filings Scraper: Debtors, Lenders & Liens

Search Mississippi UCC filings and turn the public index into clean, structured records. Every result covers the debtor, secured party, filing number, filing type, filing date, lapse date and chain status. Use it to check a business or individual before lending, find active lenders and MCA funders, spot new secured debt, or monitor filings that are close to lapse. Records export to JSON, CSV or Excel and you pay only for the filings delivered.

### What you get

Each record is one Mississippi UCC filing from the Secretary of State public index, enriched with the public filing chain page:

- Filing number, filing type and normalized document type
- Filing date and lapse date
- Chain status: active, lapsed, terminated or released
- Debtor name, street, city, state, ZIP and country
- All debtor names in the filing chain
- Secured party name, street, city, state, ZIP and country
- All secured party names in the filing chain
- Original filing number and original filing date
- The full filing chain with every filing number, date, type and lapse date
- Amendment count and amendment flag
- Search term, match mode, source, source URL, observation timestamp and confidence

Records are flat and snake_case, with ISO dates and real JSON types. Fields the free public index does not publish are returned as null rather than an empty string.

### Who is it for

- Lenders, credit teams and underwriters checking existing secured debt
- MCA and ISO brokers looking for new UCC activity and lender relationships
- Equipment finance, factoring and leasing teams monitoring collateral
- KYB, compliance and due diligence teams verifying a counterparty
- Commercial collection and legal teams reviewing filing chains and releases
- Data teams that need Mississippi UCC records in a database or spreadsheet

### How to use it

1. Choose organization, individual or filing number search.
2. Add one or more organization names, individual names, or exact filing numbers. Multiple terms are searched separately and deduplicated.
3. Pick a name match mode. Starts with is the broadest default. Exact is the most precise.
4. Optionally add city, state, ZIP or mailing address to narrow the source search.
5. Set filing type, chain status, secured party, filing date and lapse date filters.
6. Set the maximum number of filings and run the actor.

Organization search is the fastest way to check a business. Individual search is best for a surname or a Last, First Middle name. Filing number search is the most precise lookup and returns the filing plus its chain context. Turn off amendments when you only want original UCC1 filings.

### Coverage and freshness

Coverage is the State of Mississippi. The public index publishes UCC financing statements, federal tax liens, state tax liens, manufactured home filings and related UCC3 amendments, continuations, assignments, releases and terminations. The index states the date through which filings have been processed at the top of every search.

The free public index does not publish collateral text, a lien dollar amount, page counts, county, or a full document image. Those fields are returned as null and are not estimated. The actor reads the public filing chain page for each delivered filing to add the secured party, addresses, lapse date and chain history.

A single search response is capped by the source. Narrow the name, add a city or state, or use a filing date window when a broad search reaches the cap. Records are deduplicated by filing number.

### Pricing

Pay per result. You are charged for each Mississippi UCC filing delivered, plus the standard actor start event. There is no charge when a run returns no records or cannot reach the source. Free users are capped at 10 delivered records per run, and every run respects the spending limit you set.

### FAQ

**Does this include collateral or the filing image?**
No. The free Mississippi public index does not publish collateral text or document images. The actor returns the parties, addresses, filing numbers, dates, status and filing chain that are public.

**Why is the lien amount empty?**
The free public index does not publish a dollar amount. The actor does not estimate or invent one.

**What does the status mean?**
Status is derived from the filing chain and lapse date. A chain with a termination is terminated. A chain with a release is released. A filing past its lapse date is lapsed. Everything else is active.

**Can I search several names at once?**
Yes. Add up to 20 organization names or individual names, or up to 50 filing numbers. The actor searches each term, deduplicates the results and applies your filters before delivery.

**Why did a broad name return only part of the list?**
The source caps a single search response. Add a city, state, ZIP or filing date window to narrow the search.

**Can I monitor new filings?**
Yes. Use a filing date window and schedule the actor. Sort newest first to deliver the latest filings.

**Does this cover Mississippi state tax liens?**
The index includes state and federal tax lien filing types when the source publishes them. Use the filing type and secured party filters to focus on a lien type or agency.
