## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Targetjobs Scraper — UK graduate jobs and internships

Extract open graduate jobs, internships and placements from Targetjobs.co.uk by keyword and city: title, employer, location, opportunity type, salary where shown, application deadline, posting date, URL.

### Three rows from a real run

| Title | Employer | Location | Type | Salary | Deadline |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Unilever Future Leadership Programme - Research and Development UK | Unilever | Leeds, Wirral | Graduate job | 35,000 GBP per year | 2026-11-03 |
| Aon Graduate Programme 2027 - Talent Advisory Consulting | Aon | London | Graduate job | – | 2026-12-07 |
| Aon Summer Internship Programme 2027 - Commercial Risk and Reinsurance Broking | Aon | London | Internship | – | 2026-12-07 |

The default run (`searchTerms: ["engineering"]`, `maxItems: 100`) on 2026-10-20 returned 100 opportunities in 14 seconds and costs $0.15 at $1.50 per 1,000 results. The site listed 4,131 open opportunities that day.

Targetjobs.co.uk, run by GTI Media (Group GTI), is a UK careers site for students and graduates: graduate schemes, internships, placements and apprenticeships from large employers. This Actor turns its search into a clean table: what the opportunity is, who offers it, where, the salary where one is given, the application deadline and when it was posted. Only opportunities still open for applications are returned, newest first.

Press Start. The defaults return engineering opportunities across the UK.

### What a row looks like

```json
{
  "title": "Unilever Future Leadership Programme - Research and Development UK",
  "company": "Unilever",
  "location": "Leeds, Wirral",
  "employment_type": "Graduate job",
  "salary_min": 35000,
  "salary_max": 35000,
  "salary_currency": "GBP",
  "salary_period": "year",
  "posted_at": "2026-10-19",
  "application_deadline": "2026-11-03",
  "categories": [
    "Product R&D",
    "Science, R&D, food industry"
  ],
  "apply_url": "https://unilever.wd3.myworkdayjobs.com/Unilever_Early_Careers/job/United-Kingdom/Unilever-Future-Leadership-Programme---Research-and-Development-UK_R-1188841",
  "source_url": "https://targetjobs.co.uk/jobs/unilever-future-leadership-programme-research-and-development-uk-253325",
  "external_id": "253325"
}
```

`company` is the employer as the site names it; the site's search API returns no organisation for most rows since 2026-10-21; employer is filled only when the site sends it, and is empty otherwise. Business names only: a name that is or contains a person's name is left empty. Contact persons, e-mail addresses and phone numbers are never collected, and the posting text is not read.

Every row also carries `source_site` and `scraped_at`.

| Field | What it holds | How often it is filled (example run, 100 rows) |
|---|---|---|
| `title`, `employment_type` | Opportunity title; Graduate job, Internship, Placement, … | Always |
| `company` | Employer | 88 of 100 |
| `location` | Town or towns | 98 of 100 |
| `salary_min`, `salary_max`, `salary_currency`, `salary_period` | Salary range; GBP; `year` | 46 of 100 |
| `posted_at` | Day the opportunity was posted | Always |
| `application_deadline` | Closing date for applications | 92 of 100 |
| `categories` | The site's sectors | Always |
| `apply_url` | The employer's application page | 99 of 100 |
| `source_url`, `external_id` | Opportunity page on Targetjobs, its id | Always |

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `searchTerms` | Keywords, e.g. `engineering`, `marketing`, `data`. Each keyword is one search. Empty: every open opportunity. |
| `location` | One UK town or city as the site lists it, e.g. `London`, `Manchester`, `Glasgow`. Empty: every place. A place the site does not list returns no rows. |
| `postedAfter`, `sinceDays` | Keep only opportunities posted on or after a date, or in the last N days. |
| `maxItems` | Stop after this many rows. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Off by default; not needed for this site. |

### How it works

The Actor sends the same search the site's own job list sends (open opportunities only, newest first) and reads the result list, 21 at a time, pausing 2 seconds between requests. It never opens an opportunity's own page. The site's robots.txt allows the whole site.

### Pricing

$1.50 per 1,000 results (event `result-item`), no start fee. Set a maximum charge per run in the run options to cap it.

### Good to know

- The data is what Targetjobs.co.uk shows on the day of the run; deadlines and salaries are the site's.
- A UK graduate-careers site: most opportunities are in the UK, a few abroad.
- Questions or a missing field: open an issue on this Actor.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):

Keywords to search for, e.g. engineering, marketing or data. Leave empty for every open opportunity.

## `location` (type: `string`):

One UK town or city as the site lists it, e.g. London, Manchester or Glasgow. Leave empty for every place. A place the site does not list returns no rows.

## `postedAfter` (type: `string`):

Return only listings posted at or after this ISO 8601 date-time, e.g. 2026-09-01T00:00:00Z.

## `sinceDays` (type: `integer`):

Keep only listings posted in the last N days, counted in UTC from the day the run starts: 1 = yesterday and today. Made for a daily schedule. Ignored when Posted after is set.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many records. Keeps your cost predictable.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Off by default. Turn on (residential, in the site's country) only if runs start getting blocked with 403/429.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "searchTerms": [
    "engineering"
  ],
  "location": "",
  "postedAfter": "",
  "maxItems": 100,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `overview` (type: `string`):

All listings from this run: what the car is, what it costs, and who is selling it.

## `pricing` (type: `string`):

The same listings reduced to the fields used for price analysis and market monitoring.

## `dealers` (type: `string`):

The same listings focused on who is selling them.

## `runReport` (type: `string`):

Pages read, records delivered, errors, and the verdict (ok, degraded or broken).
