## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Rumble Scraper - Videos, Channels, Search & Comments

Scrape **Rumble** videos by keyword search, channel, or specific video URLs. Get titles, views, rumbles (up/down votes), durations, upload dates, channel info (followers, verified badge) and full comment threads — all in clean, structured JSON, CSV or Excel.

### What you get

**Videos** (from search, channels or video URLs):

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `title`, `url`, `description` | Video identity |
| `views`, `rumblesUp`, `rumblesDown`, `commentCount` | Engagement metrics |
| `durationSec`, `publishedAt`, `thumbnail` | Video attributes |
| `channelName`, `channelUrl`, `channelFollowers`, `channelVerified` | Author info |
| `isShort`, `isLive`, `tags` | Classification |

**Comments** (per video URL): `text`, `authorUsername`, `createdAt` (absolute timestamp), `rumblesUp`, `replyCount`, `isPinned`, `isVideoOwner`.

### Input

- **Search queries** — keywords like `news`, `election`, `ukraine`
- **Channel URLs** — e.g. `https://rumble.com/c/russellbrand` (the `/videos` listing is used automatically, paginated)
- **Video URLs** — full detail + comments for specific videos
- Limits: max videos per query / per channel, max comments per video, concurrency

All three sources can be combined in one run; duplicates are removed automatically.

### How it works

- Channel and video pages are fetched via Rumble's structured data (embedded JSON + schema.org), so the output is precise — no fragile HTML scraping for the main fields.
- Search pages are protected by Cloudflare. The Actor automatically uses **residential proxy sessions** with retries, and falls back to a **headless browser** (which executes the challenge) when needed. No configuration required.
- No login, no API keys.

### Export

Results land in the Apify dataset with named columns and ready-made views (**Videos**, **Comments**). Export to JSON, CSV, Excel or Google Sheets, or fetch via the REST API (`dataset → items`). See the output tab after a run.

### How to scrape Rumble despite Cloudflare

Rumble blocks datacenter IPs with a Cloudflare JS challenge, and its search pages are more aggressively protected than channel or video pages. This Actor ships a three-layer strategy that runs automatically: residential-proxy sessions with sticky IPs and clearance cookies, a headless-browser fallback that executes the challenge for hardened pages, and fresh-IP rotation across retries. There is no official Rumble API — this is the practical alternative, no key and no login required.

### FAQ

**Is a proxy required?**
No. The Actor uses Apify residential proxy automatically (billed as standard platform usage) because Rumble blocks datacenter IPs via Cloudflare.

**Why did a search return fewer videos than expected?**
Search pages sit behind Cloudflare's bot protection. The Actor retries with rotating residential sessions and a headless-browser fallback; occasionally a run may still come back short — just run it again. Channel scraping is unaffected and 100% reliable.

**Can I scrape comments for search/channel results too?**
Comments are fetched for videos given via **Video URLs** (where the full detail page is loaded). Add any video URL from your results to a follow-up run to pull its comments.

**How fresh is the data?**
Everything is fetched live from rumble.com at run time.

**Do you support playlists, shorts or livestreams?**
Channel scraping includes shorts and livestream uploads in the listing (`isShort`, `isLive` flags). Playlist support is on the roadmap — open an issue if you need it.

**Is there an API?**
Yes — every actor run is callable via `POST /v2/acts/liver0914~rumble-scraper-lite/runs`, with webhooks and sync variants. See the Apify API tab.

### Pricing

Free to try. When pay-per-event pricing is enabled, you only pay per scraped video/comment — no charge for failed requests.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

Keywords to search on Rumble, e.g. "news" or "covid". Videos found via search are saved with title, views, rumbles, duration, channel and date. Search pages are Cloudflare-protected; the Actor retries and falls back to a headless browser automatically.

## `channelUrls` (type: `array`):

Rumble channel URLs to scrape all recent videos from, e.g. https://rumble.com/c/russellbrand. The /videos listing tab is used automatically.

## `videoUrls` (type: `array`):

Specific Rumble video URLs for full detail (description, quality, engagement) and comments.

## `maxVideosPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many videos per search query (25 per page).

## `maxVideosPerChannel` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many videos per channel (25 per page).

## `includeComments` (type: `boolean`):

Also save comments for videos scraped via Video URLs (top comments, newest or most liked first).

## `maxCommentsPerVideo` (type: `integer`):

Upper limit of comments saved per video.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Number of parallel requests.

## `proxyConfig` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy or custom proxies. Residential proxy is used by default because Rumble blocks datacenter IPs via Cloudflare.
