## Pricing

from $0.55 / 1,000 companies

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Company Registry Lookup (UK, EU, US, Japan, Australia, Canada, LEI)

Look up any of **more than 23 million companies** by name or official registry number. Each row gives the legal name,
status, legal form, incorporation date, industry codes, registered town and postcode, the LEI and the company's ids in
other registers. Website and employee count are added where the register states them. The data comes from 14 national
and state registers (listed under Coverage) and the global LEI register.

### Quick start

Paste this into the **JSON** tab and press **Start**:

```json
{
  "companies": ["Octopus Energy | GB", "923609016 | NO", "559306-1459 | SE", "Toyota Motor | JP", "GB-CH-08130873"],
  "country": "",
  "matchesPerName": 1
}
```

You can mix company names, bare registry numbers and ids with a prefix. A bare number needs a country so it's read the
right way: set **Country** for the whole run, or put one after a bar on that line (`559306-1459 | SE`). The same works
for names (`Toyota Motor | JP`). Where a register has a check digit, a mistyped number comes back as a free row instead
of the wrong company.

| Register | Write a number like | Or with a prefix |
|---|---|---|
| UK Companies House | `09263424`, `SC123456` | `GB-CH-09263424` |
| France SIRENE | SIREN `552100554` or SIRET | `FR-SIREN-552100554` |
| Norway Brønnøysund | `923609016` | `NO-ORG-923609016` |
| Singapore ACRA | UEN `201912345K` | `SG-UEN-201912345K` |
| Finland PRH | `0112038-9` | `FI-YTUNNUS-0112038-9` |
| Estonia e-Business Register | `17184783` | `EE-REG-17184783` |
| Czechia (IČO) | `24760111` | `CZ-ICO-24760111` |
| Australia (ABN) | `42 767 741 132` | `AU-ABN-42767741132` |
| Canada (federal) | `1267586-2` | `CA-CORP-12675862` |
| Japan (corporate number) | `4010001108077`, or the 12-digit company registration number `1803-01-018771` | `JP-CN-1180301018771` |
| Sweden Bolagsverket | `559306-1459` | `SE-ORG-5593061459` |
| Ireland CRO | `784745` | `IE-CRO-784745` |
| Latvia | `40003858752` | `LV-REG-40003858752` |
| US SEC (CIK) | `0000320193` | `US-CIK-0000320193` |
| US states | Oregon `309329-90`, Colorado `20191730194`; other US numbers are searched across the four state registers | `US-NY-…`, `US-CO-…`, `US-CT-…`, `US-OR-…` |
| GLEIF | the 20-character LEI | `LEI-…` |

Japanese companies can be found by their English or kana name as well as the registered Japanese one, and companies
with an LEI by the other names GLEIF lists for them. Results always show the registered name.

### What you get (one row per company)

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `name`, `country`, `registry`, `registryNumber` | EQUINOR ASA · NO · Brønnøysund Register Centre · 923609016 |
| `status`, `legalForm`, `incorporated` | Active · ASA · 1972-09-18 |
| `city`, `postcode` | STAVANGER · 4035 |
| `industryCodes`, `industry`, `industrySystem` | 06.100 · Utvinning av råolje · SN2007 (NACE), in the registry's own language |
| `lei`, `otherRegistryIds` | OW6OFBNCKXC4US5C7523 · LEI-… |
| `websites` | equinor.com (stated in the registry) |
| `employees` | 21,231 (where the registry states it) |
| `previousName`, `registryUrl`, `licence` | the official record link and its open licence |

Entries we can't find, and invalid entries, come back as **free rows** with a reason.

### Coverage

Lookups cover every register in the bulk-mode table below: UK, France, Norway, Singapore, Finland, Estonia, Czechia,
Australia, Canada, Japan, Sweden, Ireland, Latvia, the US (SEC filers plus New York, Colorado, Connecticut and Oregon)
and LEI holders in 200+ countries. Refreshed monthly from the official bulk files. Sole traders and other natural persons are not included, and neither are
directors, officers or other people.

### Whole lists (bulk mode)

Bulk mode returns a whole list for one country, in registry id order: for example every active UK company with a
website, or every Norwegian company with an LEI. Paste this into the **JSON** tab:

```json
{
  "mode": "bulk",
  "country": "GB",
  "segment": "active-with-website",
  "industry": "62",
  "maxResults": 1000,
  "onlyNew": true
}
```

- `country`: one ISO code (required).
- `segment`: `active-with-website` (the default), `active`, `all` (any status) or `with-lei` (any status).
- `industry`: optional. A code or the start of one in the country's own system, so `62` gives every UK company with a
  SIC code starting 62.
- `city`: optional. The registered town, for example `Leeds`.
- `maxResults`: the most companies one run returns. 1,000 by default, up to 2,000,000.
- `onlyNew`: skips companies this account already got from the same list in an earlier run. Turn it on to fetch a big
  list over several runs, or to collect only newly registered companies each month. Skipped companies are free.
- `incorporatedSince`: optional. Only companies incorporated on or after this date: `2026-10-01`, or a span back from
  today such as `30 days`, `2 weeks` or `3 months`. With a date the newest come first. Australia's and Japan's files
  state no incorporation date, so a dated list isn't available for `AU` or `JP`.
- `incorporatedBefore`: optional. Only companies incorporated before this date (the date itself is left out).
- `order`: `id` (the default without a date) or `newest` (newest incorporations first, the default with a date).

In the input form these settings have their own section, "Whole lists (bulk mode)".

**Each row** has the registry id and number, legal name, country, town, postcode, status (and an `active` flag), legal
form, incorporation date, industry codes with their labels, LEI, the best matched website with how it was matched and
every other matched website, employees where the register states them, the technologies, CMS, e-commerce platform and
company social profiles seen on the company's own site where we have read it, previous name, the record's link on the
register, and the register's `licence` and `attribution` line. Organisations only: no directors, owners or other
people, and records removed on request are left out.

**Coverage** (official registers, refreshed monthly):

| Country | Register | Licence |
|---|---|---|
| UK (`GB`) | Companies House | Open Government Licence v3.0 |
| France (`FR`) | INSEE Sirene | Licence Ouverte / Etalab 2.0 |
| Norway (`NO`) | Brønnøysund Register Centre | NLOD 2.0 |
| Singapore (`SG`) | ACRA, via data.gov.sg | Singapore Open Data Licence v1.0 |
| Finland (`FI`) | Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH) | CC BY 4.0 |
| Estonia (`EE`) | e-Business Register (RIK) | CC BY 4.0 |
| Czechia (`CZ`) | Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ) | CC BY 4.0 |
| Australia (`AU`) | Australian Business Register | CC BY 3.0 AU |
| Canada (`CA`) | Corporations Canada (federal) | Open Government Licence (Canada) |
| Japan (`JP`) | National Tax Agency corporate numbers | Public Data License v1.0 |
| Sweden (`SE`) | Bolagsverket | EU high-value datasets |
| Ireland (`IE`) | Companies Registration Office | CC BY 4.0 |
| Latvia (`LV`) | Register of Enterprises | CC0 |
| US (`US`) | SEC EDGAR filers, plus New York, Colorado, Connecticut and Oregon state registers | Public domain or open terms |
| Any country | LEI holders from GLEIF | CC0 |

For a country without its own register here (for example `DE`), bulk mode returns that country's LEI holders.

### Price

You pay per company returned. Not-found and invalid entries, and companies an `onlyNew` run skips, are free.

| Event | Starter | Scale | Business |
|---|---|---|---|
| Company (lookup) | $1.00 per 1,000 | $0.75 per 1,000 | $0.55 per 1,000 |
| Company in a bulk list | $0.50 per 1,000 | $0.375 per 1,000 | $0.275 per 1,000 |

A bulk run stops cleanly at `maxResults` or at the run's maximum charge, whichever comes first, and says so in its
status message.

### Good to know

- Name search returns the best matches first. Set **Country** and **Matches per name** to narrow it down.
- Websites are filled in where a register states them. Today that means Norwegian companies that list one.
- This is registry data as published by each register. Use it lawfully and in line with each source's licence.

# Actor input Schema

## `mode` (type: `string`):

Lookup: find the companies you list by name or registry number. Bulk: a whole list for one country, set up in the "Whole lists (bulk mode)" section below.

## `companies` (type: `array`):

Company names (for example "Octopus Energy") or registry numbers from any register we hold: UK, France (SIREN or SIRET), Norway, Singapore, Finland, Estonia, Czechia, Australia (ABN), Canada (federal), Japan (corporate number), Sweden, Ireland, Latvia, the US (SEC CIK; New York, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon), or an LEI. Ids with a prefix work too: GB-CH-09263424, SE-ORG-5593061459, JP-CN-1180301018771, LEI-…. To give one line its own country, put it after a bar: "559306-1459 | SE" or "Toyota Motor | JP".

## `country` (type: `string`):

Lookup: search names in one country only, and read bare numbers as that country's registry numbers (GB, FR, NO, SG, FI, EE, CZ, AU, CA, US, JP, SE, IE or LV). A country after a bar on one line wins over this. Empty = all countries. From the API, bulk mode reads its country from here too.

## `matchesPerName` (type: `integer`):

How many companies to return for each name you search (best matches first). Registry numbers always return one company.

## `activeOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Skip dissolved, struck-off and ceased companies (they become free rows).

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Lookup: stop after this many companies. 0 = no limit. From the API, bulk mode reads its cap from here too (0 there means the bulk default, 1,000).

## `bulkCountry` (type: `string`):

One ISO country code. Registers: GB, FR, NO, SG, FI, EE, CZ, AU, CA, JP, SE, IE, LV, US. Any other code gives that country's LEI holders.

## `segment` (type: `string`):

Which companies: every one we hold, active ones, active ones with a matched website, or ones with an LEI.

## `industry` (type: `string`):

Optional. A code or the start of one, in the country's own system: 62 matches every UK SIC code starting 62, 62.01 every French NAF code starting 62.01. Matches any of a company's codes.

## `city` (type: `string`):

Optional. The registered office's town, as the register writes it (case and accents don't matter), e.g. Leeds or Tromsø.

## `incorporatedSince` (type: `string`):

Optional. Only companies incorporated on or after this date: a date like 2026-10-01, or a span back from today like "30 days", "2 weeks" or "3 months". Companies whose register states no incorporation date are left out (Australia and Japan state none). With a date, the newest come first.

## `incorporatedBefore` (type: `string`):

Optional. Only companies incorporated before this date (the date itself is not included). Same formats as above.

## `order` (type: `string`):

Id order (the default without a date), or the newest incorporations first (the default with a date).

## `bulkMaxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many companies (1 to 2,000,000). Empty = 1,000.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Skip companies this account already got from an earlier run of the same list (same country, segment, industry and town). Skipped companies are free. Turn it on to fetch a big list over several runs, or to get only newly registered companies each month.
