## Pricing

from $3.00 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Meetup Events Scraper - Groups, Venues, RSVPs & Organisers

Export Meetup events by keyword and city, or straight from group pages. Returns date, venue, RSVP count, hosts, group rating and description. Reads the data layer directly, so no browser and no login.

### ✨ What this Actor does

- Find every tech event in a city this month, with venue and expected turnout.
- Build a list of community organisers to sponsor or speak to, with group size.
- Track which topics are actually drawing attendance in a given market.
- Watch a competitor's user-group activity without joining anything.

### 🚀 Quick start

1. Fill in the input below — the example is already prefilled, so you can just press **Start**.
2. Watch the log: it names every source it reaches and how many rows each returned.
3. Export from the **Storage** tab as JSON, CSV, Excel or feed it straight into your own tools.

### 📥 Input

```json
{
  "keywords": "python",
  "location": "gb--London",
  "maxItems": 100
}
```

Every field is documented in the input form. Nothing here needs an API key or a login.

### 📤 Output

One row per record, with these columns:

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `eventId` | string | Meetup's identifier for the event. |
| `title` | string | Event title. |
| `dateTime` | string | Start time with the group's UTC offset. |
| `endTime` | string | Scheduled end, where the organiser set one. |
| `eventType` | string | PHYSICAL or ONLINE. |
| `eventStatus` | string | ACTIVE, CANCELLED and so on, where published. |
| `isOnline` | boolean | Whether the event is held online. |
| `rsvpState` | string | Whether RSVPs are open, closed or need approval. |
| `rsvpCount` | number | How many people have RSVP'd. |
| `maxTickets` | number | Attendee limit, where the organiser set one. |
| `isFree` | boolean | Whether the event has no fee settings attached. |
| `venueName` | string | Venue as published. |
| `venueAddress` | string | Street address of the venue. |
| `venueCity` | string | City of the venue. |
| `venueState` | string | State or region of the venue. |
| `venueCountry` | string | Country code of the venue. |
| `groupId` | string | Identifier of the hosting group. |
| `groupName` | string | Name of the hosting group. |
| `groupUrlname` | string | URL name of the hosting group. |
| `groupTimezone` | string | Timezone the group schedules in. |
| `groupOrganizer` | string | Name of the group's organiser. |
| `groupMemberCount` | number | How many members the group has. |
| `groupCity` | string | City the group is based in. |
| `groupCountry` | string | Country code the group is based in. |
| `groupRatingAverage` | number | Average event rating for the group. |
| `groupRatingCount` | number | How many ratings that average is built on. |
| `description` | string | Event description as plain text. |
| `photoUrl` | string | Featured event photo. |
| `eventUrl` | string | Public event page. |
| `groupUrl` | string | Public group page. |
| `source` | string | Which search or group produced the row. |
| `scrapedAt` | string | When this row was collected. |

A column that is empty means the source did not publish that value for that
record — it is never a silent substitute for zero or for "unknown".

### ❓ Frequently asked questions

**Do I need an API key or an account?**
No. This Actor reads a public feed.

**What happens if the source blocks the run?**
A refused exit IP is replaced within a quarter of a second, up to five times,
before the Actor tries anything else. If nothing gets through, the run **fails**
with the reason — it never reports success with zero rows, because "there is no
such data" and "the source would not answer" are very different answers and you
should not have to guess which one you got.

**How do I schedule this?**
Use the **Schedules** tab. Daily is usually enough; the sources here do not
change by the minute.

**Can I get the results into Google Sheets or a database?**
Yes — use the dataset export, or the Apify API and integrations. Every run
writes a `SUMMARY` record to the key-value store with the outcome and counts,
which is handy for monitoring an automated pipeline.

### 💰 Pricing

Pay per result. You are charged for the rows you receive and nothing else, so a
run that finds nothing costs nothing.

### ⚖️ Legal

This Actor collects publicly available information only. It does not log in, does
not bypass access controls, and collects no private data. You are responsible for
using the output in line with the source's terms and with applicable law,
including GDPR where personal data is involved.

### ⭐ Support

Found something wrong, or want a field that is not here? Open an issue on the
Actor's page — include the run ID and I will look at it.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `string`):

What to search for, e.g. "python", "startup", "running". Leave empty if you are giving group URLs.

## `location` (type: `string`):

Meetup's own location format, e.g. "us--ny--New York", "gb--London", "de--Berlin".

## `groupUrls` (type: `array`):

Specific groups to pull the upcoming schedule from, e.g. https://www.meetup.com/{group-name}/.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Keep the full event description. Turn off for a lighter export.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many events. 0 means no limit.

## `expandGroups` (type: `boolean`):

Meetup's search returns one page and nothing more, so depth comes from the groups it surfaces: each one's own page lists its upcoming events. Turn this off for a quick look at the search results alone.

## `maxGroups` (type: `integer`):

How many discovered groups to open. 0 uses the default of 40.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Leave this on. Requests go out through a fresh IP each time, and a refused one is swapped immediately rather than waited out.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "keywords": "tech",
  "location": "us--ny--New York",
  "groupUrls": [],
  "includeDescription": true,
  "maxItems": 100,
  "expandGroups": true,
  "maxGroups": 0,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

All events collected in this run.
