## Pricing

from $2.10 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

## Odysee Scraper — Video Search, Channels & Metadata

Odysee in rows: title, description, channel, duration, resolution, release date, tags, licence, thumbnail and a watch link — from any search term or channel.

### What does the Odysee Scraper do?

This Actor collects videos from **Odysee**, the video platform built on the **LBRY** blockchain protocol, and returns one row per upload with the metadata as **data rather than display text** — 300 seconds instead of "5:00", a resolution of 1920×1080 instead of an HD badge, and the channel's permanent identifier alongside its display name.

It reads the same gateway the Odysee web app itself calls, so a run gets exactly what the site gets: **search results, channel back-catalogues, tags, licences and the LBC support amount** that acts as Odysee's popularity signal. Claim URLs come out of the protocol in the form `lbry://@channel#e/title#a`, which no browser can open, so the Actor rewrites both the video and the channel into ordinary `odysee.com` links.

Odysee hosts more than video. Set the media type to **audio**, **document** or **image** and the same crawl walks those instead.

### Who is it for?

- **Media researchers** studying platforms outside the mainstream video ecosystem.
- **Content analysts and journalists** tracking what circulates on alternative platforms.
- **Trust and safety teams** monitoring content distribution beyond YouTube.
- **Web3 and decentralisation researchers** studying LBRY-based publishing.
- **Creators and MCNs** benchmarking their Odysee presence.
- **Archivists** cataloguing independent video with licence information attached.
- **Data scientists** building datasets of alternative-platform video metadata.

### Use cases

- Export a channel's entire back catalogue with dates, durations and tags.
- Track what is published on a topic across the platform.
- Study tag and licence distribution across independent video.
- Compare a creator's Odysee output against their other platforms.
- Build a searchable archive of independent video metadata.
- Monitor newly released uploads on a subject, on a schedule.
- Measure which content attracts the most LBC support.
- Collect audio or document uploads rather than video.

### Why use this Odysee Scraper?

- **No API key, no wallet, no account.** The public gateway answers directly.
- **18 columns per upload**, including tags, licence, resolution and support amount.
- **Watchable links.** Protocol URLs are translated into `odysee.com` addresses for both the video and its channel.
- **Channel exports**, not just search — paste a channel URL and get everything it published.
- **Audio, documents and images**, not only video.
- **Runs without a proxy**, so large jobs stay cheap.

```
### How to use the Odysee Scraper
#### Option A — search terms
Put topics or keywords in **Search terms**, one per line, set **Maximum videos** and run.
#### Option B — specific channels
Paste `odysee.com` channel links into **Channel URLs**. The Actor pulls everything those channels published, newest first.
#### Option C — audio, documents or images
Change **Media type**. The same search then returns podcasts, documents or images instead of video.
#### Option D — most supported content
Set **Sort by** to `Most supported` to surface what the community has staked LBC behind rather than what is merely recent.
### Input parameters
| Parameter | Type | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `searchQueries` | array | Search terms, one per line |
| `channelUrls` | array | Odysee channel URLs to export in full |
| `streamType` | select | Video, audio, document or image |
| `sortBy` | select | Newest, most supported or trending |
| `maxItems` | integer | How many records to collect in total |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | Off by default; Odysee answers without one |
### Tips for best results
- **Channel URLs beat search when you want completeness.** Search ranks; a channel export enumerates.
- **`supportAmount` is the closest thing to a popularity metric.** Odysee does not publish view counts through this gateway, so staked LBC is the signal available.
- **Sort by `Most supported`** to find substantial content rather than the newest upload.
- **`license` often reads `None`.** That is the publisher's own declaration, reported as given rather than cleaned up.
- **Combine several search terms in one run** — the row budget is shared across them.
### Integrations
Deliver results to Google Sheets, Airtable, Slack, Zapier, Make or your own service through Apify's integrations, or schedule a run to track a topic or channel over time.
### API usage
```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/YOUR_USERNAME~odysee-scraper/runs?token=YOUR_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "searchQueries": ["documentary"],
    "streamType": "video",
    "maxItems": 1000
  }'
```
Results export as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or RSS.
### Use with AI agents (MCP)
Exposed as a tool through Apify's MCP server, so an agent can search Odysee, pull a channel's catalogue or summarise what is being published on a topic.
### FAQ
#### Do I need an Odysee account, API key or wallet?
No. The gateway this Actor uses is the same public one the website calls.
#### How many videos can one run return?
Search results run into the thousands per term; a channel export is bounded by how much that channel published.
#### Does it download the videos?
No. This Actor collects metadata and links. The `url` column opens the video on Odysee.
#### Why is there no view count?
The public gateway does not expose one. `supportAmount` — the LBC staked behind an upload — is the popularity signal Odysee makes available, and it is included.
#### Can I export a whole channel?
Yes. Paste the channel's `odysee.com` URL into **Channel URLs**.
#### What is a claim ID?
Odysee is built on the LBRY blockchain, where every upload is a "claim" with a permanent identifier. It is the stable key for a video even if the title changes.
#### Can I collect podcasts or documents?
Yes — set **Media type** to `Audio`, `Document` or `Image`.
#### Can I export to CSV or Excel?
Yes — JSON, CSV, Excel, XML and RSS.
#### How fresh is the data?
Every run queries Odysee live.
#### Why did my run return zero videos?
Usually a search term with no matches, or a channel URL the Actor could not read an identifier from. Copy the channel link straight from the address bar.
### Is it legal to scrape Odysee?
This Actor reads a public gateway and collects publicly published metadata, which is generally lawful. You are responsible for how you use it — respect Odysee's terms, honour the licence each publisher declared, and do not redistribute content without permission.
