## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Amazon.ca Product Search Scraper – CAD prices, no start fee

### What stands out

- **CAD-native Amazon.ca results.** Prices and delivery text come straight from the Canadian storefront, with no currency conversion.
- **Bought-past-month and badges.** Each product row includes "bought in past month" plus Best Seller and Amazon's Choice badges, along with list price and discount %.
- **No start fee.** The price is $0.003 per product saved, and nothing is charged per run.
- **Low compute.** It uses plain HTTP at 256 MB with no browser, so platform usage stays small.

### Price comparison

- junglee/amazon-crawler charges $0.005 per result on Free, $0.004 on Bronze, $0.0035 on Silver, $0.003 on Gold, and less on Platinum and Diamond.
- axesso's Amazon Actors cost about $0.0001 per result on paid plans.
- This Actor costs $0.003 per product with no start fee.

### Input

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `keywords` | One search per line, e.g. `wireless earbuds` |
| `searchUrls` | Optional `amazon.ca/s?...` URLs (category and filter parameters are kept) |
| `maxItems` | Total products to save (default 100, max 50,000) |
| `fetchAll` | Keep paging until results end (hard cap 50,000) |
| `minPrice` / `maxPrice` | Optional CAD price range |
| `sort` | Featured, price, reviews, newest, best sellers |
| `excludeSponsored` | Drop sponsored results |

### Output (one row per product)

`asin`, `title`, `url`, `price`, `listPrice`, `discountPercent`, `currency` (CAD), `rating`, `reviewsCount` (ratings count), `boughtPastMonth`, `isSponsored`, `badges`, `coupon`, `delivery`, `otherOffers`, `variationsNote`, `thumbnail`, `position`, `page`, `searchQuery`.

```json
{"asin":"B0C3HCD34R","title":"Anker soundcore Q20i Hybrid ANC Headphones...","url":"https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0C3HCD34R","price":99.99,"currency":"CAD","rating":4.6,"reviewsCount":77654,"boughtPastMonth":"5K+"}
```

### Limits vs. full crawlers

- **Search-result fields only.** There is no brand, seller, variant or product-detail-page data.
- **Amazon.ca only.** Other Amazon marketplaces are not supported.
- **No proxy.** Large cloud runs may stop at Amazon robot checks. The run retries with backoff and then stops that search instead of trying to get around the check.
- **Split big pulls.** Amazon shows only a limited number of result pages per search, so use several keywords or price ranges for large datasets.
- Review text is not collected because Amazon requires sign-in for it.

### Pricing

$0.003 per product saved (pay per event). No start fee.

### Privacy

Product data only: no reviewer, seller or personal data, and no emails or phone numbers. Output is reduced, not anonymous. Processing follows Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA).
