## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Best Buy Canada Scraper – Prices, Sales & Stock

Exports bestbuy.ca search results with prices in CAD for the province you choose, sale details, ratings, the seller (Best Buy or a marketplace business) and online stock.

### What it returns

For each product: SKU, name, link, current price, regular price, savings, sale end date, environmental handling fee, rating, number of ratings and reviews, category, seller name and id, clearance / online-only / in-store-only / pre-order flags, short description and image. With **Include stock** on (the default): online stock status, **units remaining online**, free-shipping eligibility, pickup status and sale channel, at no extra charge.

### How to use

1. Add search terms, for example `laptop`, `airpods`, `65 inch tv`.
2. Pick the **province**. Best Buy prices can differ by province.
3. Optionally set a **postal code** for the stock lookup (default M5G 2C3, Toronto), a sort order and the language.
4. Set **Max products**.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `keywords` | Search terms |
| `province` | Two-letter code, default `ON` |
| `postalCode` | Postal code for the stock lookup |
| `includeAvailability` | Add stock fields (default on) |
| `sort` | `relevance`, `priceLow`, `priceHigh`, `rating`, `newest` |
| `language` | `en` or `fr` |
| `skipMarketplace` | Leave out marketplace sellers (not charged) |
| `maxItems` | Total products (default 100, up to 50,000) |
| `maxItemsPerQuery` | Optional fixed limit per search term |
| `fetchAll` | Save everything, up to 50,000 |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Canadian residential proxy by default |

### Output

`sku`, `name`, `url`, `price`, `regularPrice`, `savings`, `saleEndDate`, `currency`, `ehf`, `region`, `rating`, `ratingsCount`, `reviewsCount`, `category`, `categoryId`, `isMarketplace`, `sellerName`, `sellerId`, `isClearance`, `isOnlineOnly`, `isInStoreOnly`, `isPreorderable`, `hasPromotion`, `description`, `image`, `onlineStatus`, `onlineQuantity`, `freeShipping`, `pickupStatus`, `saleChannel`, `searchQuery`, `language`, `page`, `position`.

Example:

```json
{"sku": "19194100", "name": "Refurbished Excellent - Dell Latitude 7420 14\" Business Laptop - Intel Core i5-1145G7 - 16GB DDR4 - 512GB SSD - Windows 11 Pro", "price": 449.77, "regularPrice": 799.0, "savings": 349.23, "saleEndDate": "2026-10-24T06:59:59Z", "rating": 4.17, "ratingsCount": 6, "isMarketplace": true, "sellerName": "SaveOnMacs", "onlineStatus": "InStockOnlineOnly", "onlineQuantity": 14, "pickupStatus": "OnlineOnly", "region": "ON"}
```

### Fill rates in test runs

30 products (laptop, airpods; Ontario): `price`, `regularPrice`, `rating`, `ratingsCount`, `category`, `sellerName`, `description`, `onlineStatus`, `onlineQuantity` and `pickupStatus` were filled for every product. `savings` 21/30 (only items below regular price), `saleEndDate` 10/30, `sellerId` 14/30 (marketplace items only), `ehf` 0/30. In a French run for Québec (20 products), `description` was 17/20 and `image` 18/20: Best Buy leaves them empty for some products.

### Limits

- **Search-result data only.** No specifications table, UPC or review text.
- **Stock is online stock, not per store.** `pickupStatus` says whether pickup is offered; store-by-store quantities are not returned.
- `saleEndDate` is only filled when Best Buy shows a sale end date. `sellerId` is empty for items sold by Best Buy itself (`sellerName` is then `Best Buy`). `ehf` is only filled where an environmental handling fee applies. `description` and `image` are sometimes empty.
- Seller names are business names of marketplace sellers. No personal data is collected.
- An invalid province or postal code fails the run with a message in the `ERRORS` record; nothing is saved or charged. Searches blocked after 8 retries (each on a new Canadian residential IP and browser fingerprint) are listed in `ERRORS` and not charged. If no products are saved, the run is marked failed.

### Pricing

$0.0006 per product saved (pay per event). No start fee.

### Other Best Buy Canada Actors on Apify

Prices checked on the Apify Store on Oct 23, 2026. "Break-even" is the number of products from which this Actor costs less per run: it has no start fee and a lower per-product price, so it is cheaper from the first product on every plan.

| This Actor | $0.0006 | none | – | |

If you need specifications, UPC codes or per-store quantities, yugenox/bestbuy-canada-scraper returns them.

### FAQ

#### Why do I need to pick a province?

Best Buy prices can differ by province. The default is `ON`.

#### Do I get stock for each store?

No. You get online stock and whether pickup is offered, not store-by-store quantities.

#### Can I leave out marketplace sellers?

Yes. Turn on `skipMarketplace`. Skipped items are not charged.

#### Why is `sellerId` empty?

The item is sold by Best Buy itself. `sellerName` is then `Best Buy`.

#### What does it cost?

$0.0006 per product saved. No start fee. The stock fields cost nothing extra.
