## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Career Site Jobs Scraper: Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby in one format ($0.80 per 1,000 jobs)

Thousands of companies host their careers page on **Greenhouse**, **Lever** or **Ashby**. Give this Actor a list of companies (a slug like `wealthsimple`, or the board URL) and get **every open job** from all three platforms in **one normalised table**, with salary ranges wherever the employer publishes them.

It uses the platforms' own **public job-board APIs**, the keyless feeds they provide so companies can embed their job lists. That means no browser, no login and no proxies, so runs are fast and reliable.

### Why this one

Other Actors already cover all three platforms. **bovi** (greenhouse-lever-ashby-job-scraper) and **webdata_labs** (greenhouse-lever-ashby-jobs-scraper) do, and at volume on higher plans this Actor is **not the cheapest**. Choose it for:

- **Canada:** `isCanada` and `province` on every row, plus Canada-only and province filters. These recognise Canadian cities (Toronto, Montréal, Halifax…) and "Remote – Canada".
- **Salary in one shared format:** Greenhouse pay-transparency ranges (an extra per-job lookup), Ashby compensation and Lever salary ranges all map to the same `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryCurrency` and `salaryPeriod`.
- **No personal data:** no recruiter or hiring-manager names, and emails and phone numbers in descriptions are masked.

| Price per job (USD) | Free | Bronze | Silver | Gold+ | Start fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| **This Actor** | **0.0008** | **0.0008** | **0.0008** | 0.0008 | none |
| webdata_labs | 0.001 | 0.001 | 0.0008 | 0.0006 | none |
| bovi | 0.0015 | 0.001485 | 0.00147 | 0.001455–0.001425 | $0.00005 |

Prices are taken from each Actor's Store listing on 2026-10-23. On Gold and higher plans, webdata_labs is cheaper.

### Input

| Field | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| `companies` | | `wealthsimple`, `https://jobs.lever.co/acme`, `https://boards.greenhouse.io/acme`, `https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/acme`. **Board URLs are recommended.** A bare slug is checked on all three platforms; if it exists on more than one, the board with the most open jobs is used and the row's `slugAmbiguous` and the run status say so |
| `canadaOnly` | false | Keep only Canadian jobs |
| `provinces` | all | e.g. `["ON","QC"]` |
| `remoteOnly` | false | |
| `titleKeywords` | all | e.g. `["engineer","designer"]` |
| `includeDescription` | true | Plain text |
| `greenhouseSalaryLookup` | true | One extra API call per Greenhouse job to read its published pay range |
| `maxItems` | 100 | Up to 50,000 |
| `maxItemsPerCompany` | 0 (no cap) | Spread the budget across companies |

```json
{ "companies": ["wealthsimple", "cohere", "https://boards.greenhouse.io/faire"], "canadaOnly": true, "maxItems": 500 }
```

**Finding a slug:** open the company's careers page and click a job. If the link goes to `jobs.lever.co/<slug>`, `jobs.ashbyhq.com/<slug>` or `boards.greenhouse.io/<slug>`, that's the slug.

### Output (one row per job, same shape for every platform)

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `jobId`, `platform`, `companySlug`, `companyName` | `ca4434c0-…`, `ashby`, `wealthsimple` |
| `title`, `department`, `team`, `employmentType` | `Lead, Workplace Operations`, `People Operations & Communications`, `FullTime` |
| `workplaceType`, `isRemote` | `OnSite`, `false` |
| `location`, `allLocations`, `country`, `province`, `isCanada` | `Toronto Headquarters`, `Canada`, `ON`, `true` |
| `salaryText`, `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryCurrency`, `salaryPeriod` | `CA$116K - CA$145K`, `116000`, `145000`, `CAD`, `year` |
| `postedAt`, `updatedAt` | ISO dates (where the platform provides them) |
| `url`, `applyUrl` | Links to the posting and the application |
| `description` | Plain text, emails and phone numbers masked |
| `slugAmbiguous` | `null`, or e.g. `["lever","ashby"]` when a bare slug matched several platforms |
| `scrapedAt` | |

### Use cases

- Track hiring at competitors, customers or portfolio companies
- Build a niche job board (e.g. Canadian tech) straight from the source
- Salary benchmarking from published pay ranges, which Canadian provinces increasingly require
- Feed AI agents clean, deduplicated job data

### Honest limits

- **Bare slugs can be ambiguous:** the same slug can belong to different companies on different platforms. Use board URLs when it matters; ambiguous matches are flagged in `slugAmbiguous` and the status message.
- Only companies whose careers page is on Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby. Workday, iCIMS, SmartRecruiters and others aren't covered yet. A slug that isn't found on any of the three is listed in the run's status message.
- Salary appears only where the company publishes it. Greenhouse pay ranges have no period field, so `salaryPeriod` is null for Greenhouse.
- Lever and Ashby don't return a company display name, so `companyName` is the slug.
- `isCanada` is detected from country fields and location text. Unusual location names can be missed.
- The Actor names itself in its user agent, waits between calls, and retries 429/5xx errors 3 times (2/4/8 seconds). A 401/403 refusal is reported, not bypassed.

# Actor input Schema

## `companies` (type: `array`):

Board slugs (e.g. 'wealthsimple') or URLs like https://boards.greenhouse.io/acme, https://jobs.lever.co/acme, https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/acme. A bare slug is tried on all three platforms.

## `canadaOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep jobs whose country, province or city is in Canada (including 'Remote – Canada').

## `provinces` (type: `array`):

Keep only these (2-letter codes). Empty = all.

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only jobs marked remote.

## `titleKeywords` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose title contains any of these (case-insensitive). Empty = all.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Full plain-text job description (emails/phones masked).

## `greenhouseSalaryLookup` (type: `boolean`):

For Greenhouse boards, fetch the published pay-transparency range (1 extra API call per job).

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Total jobs for this run. You pay per job saved.

## `maxItemsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

Cap per company so one big board doesn't use the whole budget. 0 = no cap.
