## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Home Depot Canada Product Search Scraper – CAD prices, store stock, no start fee, $0.0007 per product

### What it does

Runs homedepot.ca searches for your keywords and saves one row per product from the results, in CAD. Pick a store number to get that store's price and shelf stock.

### What stands out

- **homedepot.ca, not homedepot.com.** CAD prices from the Canadian site, with English or French names and URLs.
- **Store-level stock.** `storeStockLevel` / `storeStockStatus` for the chosen store, plus `onlineStockLevel` / `onlineStockStatus`.
- **Sale data.** `price`, `wasPrice`, `savings`, `percentSaving`, `priceBadge` and promotion text.
- **Product identifiers.** `productId` (Home Depot Canada article number), `modelNumber`, `brand`, category path, tags such as "Best Seller".
- **Low cost.** Plain HTTP at 256 MB, no browser. $0.0007 per product, no start fee.

### Price comparison

| Actor | Site | Price per product | Start fee | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| **This Actor** | homedepot.ca | $0.0007 | none | Search results, per-store stock |
| yugenox/home-depot-canada-scraper | homedepot.ca | $0.002 per search result, $0.003 per detail result | $0.003 | Only other homedepot.ca Actor found; also has detail pages, aisle and bay, bulk prices |
| s_actors/home-depot-scraper | homedepot.com (US) | $0.001 ($0.0008 Gold and higher) + $0.0005 per page scan; $0.0005 per store event | $0.001 | US stores by ZIP code |
| scrapyspider/home-depot-clearance-scraper | homedepot.com (US) | $0.002 ($0.00085 Gold and higher) | $0.004 to $0.01 | Clearance items only |
| sian.agency/home-depot-product-scraper | homedepot.com (US) | $0.006 overview, $0.022 detail | $0.005 | |
| maplerope44/home-depot-product-lookup | homedepot.com (US) | $0.0075 per item ($0.007 per request + $0.0005 per result) | about $0.00005 | Lookup by product ID and ZIP |

None of these is cheaper per product than this Actor. Prices were taken from the Apify Store on Oct 23, 2026 and may change.

### Input

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `keywords` | One search per line |
| `storeId` | Optional 4-digit store number (for example 7001) for that store's price and stock |
| `sort` | Recommended, price low-high, price high-low, highest rated |
| `language` | English or French |
| `maxItems` | Products to save in total (default 100, max 50,000). Split evenly across keywords so every keyword runs; unused share rolls over |
| `maxItemsPerQuery` | Optional fixed cap per keyword instead of the even split |
| `fetchAll` | Page until results end (hard cap 50,000) |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Canadian residential by default |

### Output

`productId`, `name`, `brand`, `modelNumber`, `url`, `price`, `wasPrice`, `savings`, `percentSaving`, `priceBadge`, `currency`, `unitOfMeasure`, `rating`, `reviewsCount`, `onlineStockLevel`, `onlineStockStatus`, `storeId`, `productStatus`, `storeStockLevel`, `storeStockStatus`, `aisleBay`, `shippingMessage`, `storeMessage`, `canAddToCart`, `canPickUpInStore`, `promotion`, `tags`, `hasMoreOptions`, `isAppliance`, `image`, `categoryPath`, `position`, `page`, `searchQuery`.

}
```
### Limits
- **Search-result fields only.** No specifications, descriptions, Q\&A or reviews text.
- **Store fields depend on the store.** Without `storeId`, homedepot.ca's default store is used. `aisleBay` is usually empty because the search results rarely include it (yugenox/home-depot-canada-scraper does return aisle and bay).
- **Products without a price are skipped and not charged.** homedepot.ca lists some products in search results that are not sold at the chosen store or are discontinued (`productStatus` `X` or `BX`, always out of stock). Home Depot publishes no price for these anywhere, including its product and price APIs. In tests they were 8 to 20 of every 50 search results for paint, and none for drills, lumber or screws. They are left out by default, so every saved row has a `price`. To keep them (with `price` empty), turn on `includeUnpriced`. Those rows are charged like any other.
- **Unknown store numbers fail the run.** If `storeId` is not a real store (for example `0000`), homedepot.ca returns results without that store. The run then fails with a message in `ERRORS`, and nothing is saved or charged.
- **`wasPrice`, `savings` and `promotion` are empty when the item isn't on sale.**
- `categoryPath` is the category Home Depot assigns to the whole search, not to each product. It is empty for French (`language: fr`) searches.
- homedepot.ca often answers 403 to a first request. The Actor then retries up to 10 times, each time on a new Canadian residential IP with a new browser fingerprint. Pages that are still blocked are skipped and listed in the `ERRORS` key-value record (not charged). Even with these retries, some pages are sometimes still blocked, so a run can return fewer products than asked for. For comparison, yugenox/home-depot-canada-scraper reports a 98.4% success rate on its Store page. If no products are saved at all, the run is marked failed with a clear status message.
- No personal data is collected.
### Pricing
$0.0007 per product saved (pay per event). No start fee.
### FAQ
#### Is this homedepot.ca or homedepot.com?
homedepot.ca, with prices in CAD.
#### Which store's price and stock do I get?
The store in `storeId`. Without it, homedepot.ca's default store is used. An unknown store number fails the run, and nothing is saved or charged.
#### Why did I get fewer products than I asked for?
Products with no price are skipped unless you turn on `includeUnpriced`. Pages that stay blocked after retries are skipped and listed in the `ERRORS` record. Neither is charged.
#### Why is `aisleBay` usually empty?
Home Depot's search results rarely include it.
#### What does it cost?
$0.0007 per product saved. No start fee.
# Actor input Schema
## `keywords` (type: `array`):
One homedepot.ca search per line.
## `storeId` (type: `string`):
Optional 4-digit Home Depot Canada store number (for example 7001 or 7265). Prices and store stock are then for that store. Empty = homedepot.ca default store.
## `sort` (type: `string`):
Result order.
## `language` (type: `string`):
Product names and URLs in English or French.
## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):
Total cap (default 100, max 50,000).
## `maxItemsPerQuery` (type: `integer`):
Optional cap per keyword. Empty = Max products is split evenly across keywords (unused share rolls over to the next keyword).
## `fetchAll` (type: `boolean`):
Ignore Max products and page until results end (hard cap 50,000).
## `includeUnpriced` (type: `boolean`):
homedepot.ca lists some products that are not sold at the store or are discontinued (productStatus X/BX). They have no price and are skipped by default (not charged). Turn on to save them with an empty price (charged).
## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):
Canadian residential proxy by default; homedepot.ca blocks some datacenter IPs.
