## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## IKEA Canada Product Scraper – Prices, Ratings & Variants

Exports IKEA Canada products from search words or category ids, with price, previous price, rating, colours and category. The US and UK IKEA stores are also supported.

### What it returns

For each product: item number, name, type, size, designer text, price, previous price, unit price, price tags, rating and rating count, colours, number of variants, badge, new / last-chance / sold-online flags, category and category keys, link and images.

### How to use

1. Add **Keywords** such as `sofa` or `kallax`, and/or **Categories** such as `fu003` or a category page link.
2. Pick the **Country** (`ca`, `us` or `gb`) and **Language**.
3. Set **Max products**.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `keywords` | Words to search on IKEA (e.g. sofa, desk, kallax). |
| `categories` | Optional IKEA category ids or category page links, e.g. fu003 or https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/cat/sofas-fu003/. |
| `country` | IKEA market. Prices are in that market's currency. |
| `language` | Language of names and texts. |
| `maxItems` | Total products across all searches (split evenly). |
| `fetchAll` | Ignore Max products and save everything (up to 1,000 per search term or category). |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Apify datacenter proxy is the default. |

### Output

`itemNo`, `name`, `typeName`, `measure`, `designText`, `price`, `currency`, `previousPrice`, `priceUnit`, `priceTags`, `isBreathTaking`, `rating`, `ratingCount`, `colors`, `variantCount`, `badge`, `isNew`, `lastChance`, `onlineSellable`, `category`, `categoryKeys`, `businessArea`, `url`, `image`, `contextImage`, `itemNoGlobal`, `itemType`, `market`, `language`, `searchQuery`, `searchCategory`, `position`.

Example:

```json
{"itemNo": "19384116", "name": "UPPLAND", "typeName": "Sofa", "price": 899, "currency": "USD", "rating": 3.7, "ratingCount": 207, "category": ["Sofas & armchairs", "Sofas & sectionals", "Three-seat sofas"], "url": "https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/uppland-sofa-blekinge-white-s19384116/"}
```

In a 40-item test run, every field was filled for at least 90% of items except: `priceTags` 45%, `previousPrice` 30%, `badge` 30%, `measure` 25%, `priceUnit` 0%, `searchCategory` 0%. Empty fields mean the site did not show that value.

### Notes

- IKEA returns at most 1,000 products per search word or category.
- Prices are in the chosen market's currency and are online prices, not store-specific.
- `previousPrice` is filled only when IKEA shows a previous (pre-sale) price. In the US and UK stores this appears on sale items (30% of a 40-item US test). IKEA Canada showed no previous prices in any search checked on 2026-10-24, so the field is usually empty for `ca`.

### Pricing

$0.50 per 1,000 products saved to the dataset, platform usage included. No start fee.

#### Compared with a similar Actor (prices checked 2026-10-24)

| All plans | $0.50 / 1,000 | $2 / 1,000 + $0.00005 start |

### FAQ

#### How much does a run cost?

This Actor uses pay-per-event pricing. You pay only for these events:

- **Product**: $0.0005 each ($0.5 per 1,000) – One product saved to the dataset.
  Set `maxItems` to cap the cost of a run.

#### How many results can one run return?

Up to `maxItems` (default 100, maximum 50,000).

#### How do I export or automate the results?

Results are saved to the run's dataset. Download them as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, read them through the Apify API, or run the Actor on a schedule and send the results to Google Sheets, Slack, Zapier, Make or a webhook.

#### Is this an official IKEA tool?

No. It is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by IKEA. It reads only publicly available data.
