## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

## AuctionZip Scraper

Scrape **live and online auction listings** from [AuctionZip.com](https://www.auctionzip.com), one of the largest auction-listing aggregators for estate sales, antiques, art, coins, collectibles, vehicles, and more.

Search by **keyword**, **ZIP code**, and **radius**, or browse all upcoming online auctions. For each listing you get the auction title, auctioneer/company, date & time, location, description, lot info, category, image, and a direct listing URL.

### Features

- 🔎 Keyword search (one or many keywords per run)
- 📍 ZIP-code + radius location search
- 🗓️ Date/time, auctioneer, and location for every listing
- 🖼️ Listing images and detail-page URLs
- 💲 Optional detail-page enrichment (price estimate, category, fuller description)
- ☁️ Optional Apify Proxy support (RESIDENTIAL recommended for large runs)

### Input

| Field | Type | Description |
|-------|------|-------------|
| `searchQueries` | array of strings | Keywords to search (e.g. `["coins", "rolex"]`). Empty = browse upcoming auctions. |
| `zip` | string | US ZIP code to find auctions near a location (e.g. `"90210"`). |
| `location` | string | Alias for `zip` (ZIP takes priority if both set). |
| `radius` | integer | Search radius in miles around the ZIP (e.g. `50`). |
| `maxResults` | integer | Max listings to scrape. `0` = unlimited. Default `50`. |
| `scrapeDetails` | boolean | Open each listing detail page for estimate/category/full description. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | Apify Proxy settings. |

#### Example input

```json
{
  "searchQueries": ["coins"],
  "zip": "90210",
  "radius": 50,
  "maxResults": 50,
  "scrapeDetails": false
}
```

### Output

Each dataset item looks like:

```json
{
  "title": "Chinese Coin",
  "auctioneer": "Jade Auction House",
  "dateTime": "Wednesday Jun 24 - 7:30 pm",
  "location": "TEMPLE CITY, CA",
  "city": "TEMPLE CITY",
  "state": "CA",
  "description": "Chinese Coin. Width: 2 (inch).",
  "lotNumber": null,
  "lotCount": 1,
  "category": "",
  "estimate": null,
  "imageUrl": "https://image.invaluable.com/housePhotos/.../H19390-L440356845_thz.jpg",
  "lotId": "F5182D13CF",
  "listingUrl": "https://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/lot_F5182D13CF",
  "searchQuery": "coins",
  "searchZip": "90210",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-06-24T21:50:00.000Z"
}
```

When `scrapeDetails` is enabled, `estimate`, `category`, and a fuller `description` are filled in from each listing's detail page.

### Notes

- AuctionZip is fronted by Cloudflare. This Actor uses browser-like TLS fingerprinting and clears it in most cases. For high-volume or repeated runs, enable a **RESIDENTIAL** proxy.
- Results are paginated 40 per request and de-duplicated by lot ID across pages and keywords.

### Disclaimer

This Actor scrapes publicly available listing data for research and aggregation. Respect AuctionZip's Terms of Service and applicable laws. Not affiliated with AuctionZip.com.

# Actor input Schema

## `auctionIds` (type: `array`):

One or more Morphy Auctions auction IDs to scrape (the number in a catalog URL, e.g. catalog.aspx?auctionid=716 → 716). Each auction's catalog is scraped. Leave empty to auto-discover the current auctions from the Morphy auction landing page.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional list of Morphy Auctions catalog URLs (catalog.aspx?auctionid=N) or individual lot URLs (e.g. https://auctions.morphyauctions.com/SOME\_LOT-LOT662424.aspx). Used in addition to Auction IDs.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of lots to scrape across all auctions. Set to 0 for unlimited. Note: Morphy's catalog serves ~25 lots per catalog page over GET, so volume scales with the number of auctions scraped. Default is 100.

## `scrapeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

If enabled, opens each lot's detail page to add the category breadcrumb, full description, and authoritative current/final bid. Slower but richer. If disabled, uses the faster catalog data only (title, estimate, minimum bid).

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Proxy settings. Morphy's auction platform (IIS/ASP.NET) returns 200 to a direct request, so no proxy is needed. Enable Apify Proxy only for large repeated runs.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "auctionIds": [
    "716"
  ],
  "startUrls": [],
  "maxResults": 100,
  "scrapeDetails": true,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
```
