## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

## MTG Seattle Scraper — Magic Card Singles & Prices

Scrape **MTG Seattle** (mtgseattle.com) for trading-card game singles — Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, and Yu-Gi-Oh — with real in-stock prices by condition.

### What it does

Search by card name (or browse catalog pages) and get every in-stock variant with its price, condition, foil/finish, set, and quantity — useful for price comparison, arbitrage against TCGplayer/Cardmarket, and collection valuation.

### Input

```json
{
  "searchQueries": ["black lotus", "sol ring"],
  "maxItems": 40,
  "maxPagesPerSource": 2
}
```

- `searchQueries` — card names to search (defaults to `["black lotus"]`).
- `maxItems` — max records to return.
- `maxPagesPerSource` — how many result pages to page through per query.

### Output (one record per in-stock variant)

```json
{
  "cardName": "Sol Ring",
  "set": "Revised Edition (FBB Italian)",
  "game": "MTG",
  "condition": "NM-Mint",
  "language": "English",
  "foil": false,
  "price": 99.99,
  "inStock": true,
  "quantity": 2,
  "variantId": "…",
  "productId": "…",
  "url": "https://www.mtgseattle.com/…",
  "image": "https://…",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-08-10T…"
}
```

### Notes

- Data comes from the store's server-rendered catalog (CrystalCommerce). Out-of-stock singles hide their price, so records are effectively purchasable in-stock listings.
- Prices are per condition/finish variant, deduplicated across the site's grid/list layouts.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

Card names to search on MTG Seattle (e.g. 'black lotus', 'underground sea', 'ragavan'). Each query returns matching singles with condition, foil, price and stock.

## `categoryUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional CrystalCommerce catalog category URLs or paths to browse fully, e.g. 'https://www.mtgseattle.com/catalog/magic\_singles-alpha/66' or '/catalog/magic\_singles-unlimited/68'. Use these to scrape an entire set instead of searching.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of variant records to return across all sources (0 = unlimited).

## `maxPagesPerSource` (type: `integer`):

Maximum result pages to paginate for each search query / category (24 products per page).

## `onlyInStock` (type: `boolean`):

Only return card variants that currently have stock available for purchase.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Proxy settings. MTG Seattle serves plain SSR HTML and usually works without a proxy; enable Apify Proxy only if you hit rate limits.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "searchQueries": [
    "black lotus"
  ],
  "categoryUrls": [],
  "maxItems": 200,
  "maxPagesPerSource": 5,
  "onlyInStock": false,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
```
