## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Watchfinder Pre-Owned Luxury Watch Scraper

Scrape pre-owned and vintage luxury watches from [Watchfinder & Co.](https://www.watchfinder.com), one of the world's largest certified pre-owned watch retailers. Search by brand or keyword and get clean, structured listing data including price, reference number, year and box-and-papers status.

### What it does

For each search query (e.g. `rolex submariner`, `omega speedmaster`, `patek philippe`), the actor pages through Watchfinder's catalog and returns every matching watch with:

- **title** — brand + model line + reference
- **brand** — e.g. Rolex, Omega, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet
- **model** — model line / collection (e.g. Submariner, Speedmaster, Nautilus)
- **modelName** — brand + model line convenience field
- **referenceNumber** — manufacturer reference number
- **sku** — Watchfinder stock number
- **price** — asking price (USD)
- **condition** — Pre-Owned or Unworn
- **year** — year of manufacture
- **boxAndPapers** — Box & Papers / Box only / Papers only / Watch only
- **hasBox** / **hasPapers** — boolean flags
- **seller** — Watchfinder & Co.
- **image** — product image URL
- **url** — listing URL
- **searchQuery**, **source**, **scrapedAt** — provenance

Use an empty string `""` as a query to browse the entire pre-owned catalog.

### Input

```json
{
  "searchQueries": ["rolex submariner", "omega speedmaster"],
  "maxResults": 100
}
```

- **searchQueries** (array) — brand or keyword searches. Empty string browses everything.
- **maxResults** (integer) — max listings across all queries combined (default 100).
- **proxyConfiguration** (object) — optional. Watchfinder serves plain server-rendered HTML and works best with direct access; a proxy is only needed for very large runs.

### Output

Each item is one watch listing pushed to the dataset. Example:

```json
{
  "title": "Rolex Submariner 1680",
  "brand": "Rolex",
  "model": "Submariner",
  "modelName": "Rolex Submariner",
  "referenceNumber": "1680",
  "sku": "422126",
  "price": 10950,
  "currency": "USD",
  "condition": "Pre-Owned",
  "year": 1977,
  "boxAndPapers": "Watch only",
  "hasBox": false,
  "hasPapers": false,
  "seller": "Watchfinder & Co.",
  "image": "https://www.watchfinder.com/media/catalog/product/...",
  "url": "https://www.watchfinder.com/watches/rolex/submariner/1680/422126",
  "source": "watchfinder.com"
}
```

### Pricing

This actor uses **pay per result**: a small per-item charge for each watch listing returned, plus a tiny actor start fee. Failed runs that return no results are not billed for items.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

One or more brand or keyword searches, e.g. 'rolex submariner', 'omega', 'patek philippe', 'audemars piguet'. Each query is matched against Watchfinder's catalog. Use an empty string "" to browse the entire pre-owned catalog.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of watch listings to return across all queries combined. Default 100.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Proxy settings. Watchfinder serves listings as plain server-rendered HTML and works best with direct access; a proxy is only recommended for very large runs to distribute volume.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "searchQueries": [
    "rolex submariner",
    "omega speedmaster"
  ],
  "maxResults": 100,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
```
