## Pricing

from $0.07 / 1,000 reviews

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store Reviews Scraper: All Reviews, Not 500

Get every written App Store review of an iPhone app, not just the newest 500:
newest first with an optional date window, or the most helpful,
most favorable or most critical first. Each review comes with its stars,
title, text, date, the reviewer's name, whether it was edited and the
developer's reply. No Apple account, login or cookies needed.

Tested daily. Latest checks: one app's whole UK review list read to its end,
1,091 of 1,091 reviews; 4,091 reviews of two apps in about 5 minutes.

### What does this Actor do?

You give it links to App Store app pages (or just app ids like `570060128`).
For each app it reads the written reviews of one App Store country, in the
order you choose, and saves one row per review until it reaches your limit,
your date window or the end of the list.

Each review comes with:

- the star rating, the title and the review text
- the exact date and time it was written, and whether it was edited
- the reviewer's display name
- the developer's reply and its date, if there is one

### Why use it?

- **Read the whole list.** Many tools stop at the newest 500 reviews per
  country. This one keeps going to the end of the list, so you can study an
  app's full review history.
- **Monitor new reviews.** Sort by newest, set **Only reviews newer than** to
  `1 week`, raise **Max reviews per app** above the reviews a week brings,
  and run it on a schedule: each run reads only what is new and stops.
- **Find the complaints fast.** Sort by most critical to read the harshest
  reviews first, or by most favorable for testimonials.
- **Check your support.** See which reviews got a developer reply, and when.
- **Use the data anywhere.** Download as JSON, CSV or Excel, or send it to
  your own tools through Apify's API and integrations.

### How to use it

1. Paste one or more app links into **App links**.
2. Optionally, set the **Country**, **Max reviews per app**, the **Order** and
   **Only reviews newer than**.
3. Click **Start**. When the run ends, open the **Output** tab to view the
   reviews or download them.

Run it with no input to see a sample: up to 100 US reviews each of Duolingo and
Spotify, charged as usual.

#### Apps that work

Any app page on the App Store:
`https://apps.apple.com/us/app/duolingo-language-lessons/id570060128`. The
country in the link (`/us/`, `/gb/`, `/vn/`) decides which country's reviews
are read. An app id on its own (`570060128` or `id570060128`) works too, and
reads the **Country** field's reviews. Developer, chart and search pages are
not supported, and neither are Mac App Store reviews.

### Input

| Field                                                | What it does                                                                          | Default    |
| ---------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------- |
| **App links** (`startUrls`)                          | The apps to read. Required.                                                           | —          |
| **Country** (`country`)                              | The App Store country for app ids and links without one: `us`, `gb`, `vn`, …          | `us`       |
| **Max reviews per app** (`maxReviewsPerApp`) | Stop reading an app after this many reviews, from 1 to 100,000 | `100` |
| **Order** (`sortBy`)                                 | `newest`, `helpful`, `favorable` or `critical`                                        | `newest`   |
| **Only reviews newer than** (`onlyReviewsNewerThan`) | Newest order only: a date (`2026-10-01`) or a period (`7 days`, `2 weeks`, `1 month`) | empty: all |
| **Only new reviews** (`onlyNewItems`) | Return only the reviews an earlier run did not; see New items only below | off |

Example input:

```json
{
  "startUrls": [{ "url": "https://apps.apple.com/us/app/duolingo-language-lessons/id570060128" }],
  "maxReviewsPerApp": 1000,
  "sortBy": "newest",
  "onlyReviewsNewerThan": "30 days"
}
```

### New items only

Turn on **Only new reviews** (`onlyNewItems`) for a scheduled run, or a re-run
of the same task. Each run then returns only the reviews it has not returned
before: it reads each app back to a day before the last run that read it, and
skips the reviews an earlier run saved. Skipped reviews are neither saved nor
charged; each new review is charged as usual. It works only with **Order** set
to `newest`.

- Runs with other settings, or from another task, keep their own list, so two
  schedules on one app never skip each other's reviews.
- If an app stops at **Max reviews per app**, the reviews past that point are
  not returned later. Set the maximum above what one app gets between runs.
- The list lives in your Apify account, in a key-value store named
  `app-store-reviews-scraper-monitor`. Delete it to start afresh.

Not included: the app's details (name, price, overall rating), the app
version a review was written on, and helpful-vote counts.

### How much does it cost?

No surcharges and no paid options; an item that fails is not charged.

You pay for what you get:

- **$0.10 per 1,000 reviews** ($0.0001 a review). Each review is charged once per run.
- No start fee.

So 2,000 reviews of one app cost $0.20. If you set a maximum cost for a run, the Actor stops when it reaches it and keeps every review saved so far.

### How long does a run take?

Expect about 800 reviews a minute. In testing, 4,091 reviews of two apps took
about 5 minutes, and a 7-day window read 308 reviews of one app in under 30
seconds. At that pace a list of tens of thousands of reviews takes over an
hour.

### Good to know

- **Each country is a separate list.** The App Store keeps an app's reviews
  per country: `us` returns the US reviews only. To cover more countries,
  paste the app once per country (`/us/`, `/gb/`, …) in the same run.
- **The rating count on the app page is larger than what you get.** That
  number counts star ratings too; ratings without text have nothing to read.
- **The newest reviews can take a few days to show up.** In our checks the
  newest review listed was two days old: the App Store lists a review some
  time after it is written.
- **Up to 100,000 reviews per app.** A popular app can hold tens of thousands
  of written reviews in one country; reading them all takes a while (see
  above).
- **Check your links first.** A link that is not an App Store app link, or a
  country that is not a two-letter code, stops the run before anything is read, and
  the message names it.
- **One app that cannot be read does not stop the run.** The other apps carry
  on, and the run's status lists the apps that could not be read (an app id
  that does not exist in that country, or a country code the App Store does
  not have, is one; the United Kingdom is `gb`, and `uk` is read as `gb`). The run fails only when no app
  could be read.
- **No reviews is not an error.** An app with no written reviews in that
  country, or none inside your date window, saves nothing.
- **Running it daily?** Sort by newest and turn on **Only new reviews**, or set
  a window a little longer than the time between runs and remove repeats by
  `review_id`.

### FAQ

**Do I need an Apple account or cookies?**
No. The Actor reads the reviews anyone can see on the app's page.

**Can I get reviews from Google Play?**
Not with this Actor: it reads the App Store only.

**Can I run it from my own code, on a schedule, or with other apps?**
Yes. Like any Apify Actor, you can start it through the Apify API, run it on a
schedule, and connect it to other apps with Apify's integrations and webhooks.

### Is it legal to scrape the App Store?

This Actor reads only reviews that anyone can see without logging in. The
results include reviewers' display names, which can be personal data
protected by laws such as the GDPR. Only collect personal data when you have a
legitimate reason to, and check Apple's terms and the laws that apply to you.
If you are unsure, ask a lawyer.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Links to App Store app pages (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/…/id…), or app ids such as 570060128 or id570060128. A link's own country (/us/, /gb/, /vn/) decides which country's reviews are read; a link without one, or an id, reads the Country field's. itunes.apple.com links work too. Developer, chart and search pages are refused. Example: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/duolingo-language-lessons/id570060128

## `country` (type: `string`):

The App Store country, as a two-letter code (us, gb, vn, …), for app ids and for links that name no country. us by default. The United Kingdom is gb, and uk is read as gb. Each country is a separate review list, so paste an app once per country to cover more. Example: gb

## `maxReviewsPerApp` (type: `integer`):

Stop reading an app after this many reviews, from 1 to 100,000 (100 by default). The run also stops at the end of the app's list or your date window. You pay per review saved ($0.10 per 1,000), so this also caps what each app costs. Example: 1000

## `sortBy` (type: `string`):

Newest reviews first, the most helpful first, the most favorable first or the most critical first. Newest first is the default, and the only order that works with Only reviews newer than. Use most critical to read the harshest reviews first. Example: critical

## `onlyReviewsNewerThan` (type: `string`):

Only with the newest-first order: a date (YYYY-MM-DD, UTC) or a period such as 7 days, 2 weeks or 1 month (days, weeks, months or years). The run stops reading an app at its first older review. It cannot be in the future. Leave empty for every review. Example: 30 days

## `onlyNewItems` (type: `boolean`):

Turn this on for a scheduled run, or a re-run of the same task: each run then returns only the reviews it has not returned before, reading each app back to a day before the last run that read it. Skipped reviews are neither saved nor charged; each new review is charged as usual. Works only with Newest first. Runs with other settings, or from another task, keep their own list. Off by default.
