## Pricing

from $6.00 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

**Convert Facebook URLs to numeric IDs in bulk.** Paste page, profile, group, post or video links and get the **Facebook ID**, type, name, username and canonical URL for each one — thousands per run.

### What does Facebook URL to ID do?

Facebook URL to ID resolves [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com) links and usernames to their permanent numeric identifiers. For every input it returns the **ID**, the **type** (page, profile or group), the **name**, the **username**, the **canonical URL**, and for pages also the **legacy page ID** that older tools and ad platforms use. For post, video, photo and event links it also returns the **content ID** alongside the ID of the page, profile or group it belongs to.

Running on Apify gives you an API, scheduling and integrations with Google Sheets, Zapier, Make and webhooks, so you can resolve IDs inside your existing workflows.

### Why use Facebook URL to ID?

- **Ads and audiences** — many ad, analytics and social-listening tools ask for page or group IDs, not URLs.
- **Data pipelines** — usernames change, numeric IDs don't. Store IDs as stable keys.
- **Deduplication** — different URLs (vanity name, `profile.php?id=`, mobile links) map to the same ID.
- **API work** — the Graph API and many integrations require numeric IDs.
- **Research** — resolve large lists of pages and groups in minutes instead of inspecting page source by hand.

### How to find Facebook IDs in bulk

1. Click **Try for free**.
2. Paste URLs or usernames into **Facebook URLs**, one per line.
3. Click **Start**.
4. Download the IDs as CSV, Excel or JSON, or fetch them through the API.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `urls` | Page, profile, group, post or video URLs, usernames or numeric IDs. Up to 5,000 per run. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Proxy settings; the default works well. |

### Output

One row per input. You can download the dataset in various formats such as JSON, HTML, CSV, or Excel.

```json
[
    { "input": "https://www.facebook.com/NASA", "status": "ok", "type": "page", "id": "100044561550831",
      "legacyPageId": "54971236771", "name": "NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration",
      "username": "NASA", "canonicalUrl": "https://www.facebook.com/NASA/" },
    { "input": "https://www.facebook.com/groups/python", "status": "ok", "type": "group", "id": "270834543757117", "name": "Python" },
    { "input": "zuck", "status": "ok", "type": "profile", "id": "4", "name": "Mark Zuckerberg", "username": "zuck" },
    { "input": "https://www.facebook.com/NASA/videos/1095816435362573", "status": "ok", "type": "page",
      "id": "100044561550831", "contentType": "video", "contentId": "1095816435362573" }
]
```

### Data fields

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `id` | Numeric ID of the page, profile or group |
| `type` | `page`, `profile` or `group` |
| `legacyPageId` | Classic page ID (pages only) |
| `name`, `username`, `canonicalUrl` | Identity |
| `contentType`, `contentId` | For post/video/photo/event links |
| `status`, `error` | `ok`, `not_found` or `error` |

### How many results will I get?

Exactly one row per unique input, so your output lines up with your list.

### Tips

- Mixed input is fine: vanity URLs, `profile.php?id=` links, mobile links and bare usernames.
- Private profiles and closed groups still resolve when Facebook shows their public header.

### FAQ

**Which ID should I use for ads tools?** Most modern tools accept `id`. Some legacy tools expect `legacyPageId` for pages.

**Is it legal?** It reads only public identifiers. Use them in line with Facebook's terms.

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

Page, profile, group, post or video URLs (or usernames), one per line. Up to 5,000 per run.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

The default works well. Switch to residential proxies if many URLs fail.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "urls": [
    "https://www.facebook.com/NASA",
    "https://www.facebook.com/groups/python",
    "https://www.facebook.com/zuck"
  ],
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
