## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

**See every Google ad a competitor is running.** Search, YouTube, Display, Shopping and more. Enter a domain or advertiser name and get each ad with its format, first and last shown dates, how many days it ran, the countries it ran in, every variation, and a preview image.

### What does Google Ads Transparency Scraper do?

Google Ads Transparency Scraper collects ads from the [Google Ads Transparency Center](https://adstransparency.google.com/). It returns **structured, export-ready data** for any advertiser or website. Enter `nike.com` or `Nike` and you get one row per ad, ready for spreadsheets, dashboards or your own tools.

It runs on the Apify platform, so you also get API access, scheduled runs, integrations (Google Sheets, Slack, Zapier, Make, webhooks), proxy rotation and run monitoring.

### Why use Google Ads Transparency Scraper?

- **Competitor ad research**: see every creative a competitor runs on Google and how long each one has been live. Ads that run for a long time are usually the ones that work.
- **Creative inspiration**: collect image, video and text ads by format for swipe files and briefs.
- **Market entry checks**: filter by country to see who advertises in a market before you enter it.
- **Agency pitches and audits**: show a prospect their full Google ad footprint next to their competitors'.
- **Brand protection**: find advertisers pointing ads at your domain or bidding on your brand.
- **Monitoring**: schedule weekly runs and compare `lastShown` dates to spot new and paused campaigns.

### How to scrape Google Ads Transparency Center data

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Add one or more **advertisers or domains**: a domain (`nike.com`), an advertiser name (`Nike`), an advertiser ID (`AR16735076323512287233`) or an advertiser link copied from the Transparency Center.
3. Optionally pick a **region**, **ad format** and **date range**.
4. Click **Start**. Ads appear in the **Output** tab as they're collected.
5. Download the results as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or pull them through the API.

| `adUrl` | Link to the ad in the Transparency Center |

#### Dataset views

- **Ads**: one row per ad with preview, dates, format and countries.
- **Advertisers**: one profile row per advertiser searched.

### How many results will I get?

You get one row per ad plus one row per advertiser profile. Big brands run thousands of ads, so use `maxAdsPerSearch`, the region, format and date filters to get only what you need. A search for 100 ads returns about 101 rows. Leave `includeAdDetails` on for the richest data, or turn it off for faster runs when you only need the ad list.

### Tips

- **Domain vs. advertiser**: a domain search finds every advertiser pointing ads at that site, including resellers and affiliates. An advertiser search returns only that company's own ads.
- **Long-running ads are winners**: sort by `daysShown` to find the creatives a brand keeps paying for.
- **Track changes**: schedule the actor weekly with a `dateFrom` of last week to collect only fresh ads.
- **Names can be ambiguous**: if a name matches several advertisers, the best match is used. Paste the advertiser ID or link for exact results.

### FAQ

**Is it legal to scrape the Google Ads Transparency Center?**
The actor only collects ad information that Google publishes publicly for transparency. You are responsible for how you use the data. Consult a lawyer if you're unsure about your use case.

**Why do some text ads have an image but no headline?**
Google publishes many text ads only as rendered previews. The preview image is always included, and the text fields are filled whenever Google publishes the text itself.

**Do I get spend or impression numbers?**
Google publishes spend and impression ranges only for political ads in some regions. Commercial ads show dates, formats and countries only.

**Something missing or broken?**
Open an issue in the **Issues** tab and we'll look at it quickly. Need a custom version or a bigger data pipeline? Get in touch through the same tab.
