## Pricing

from $6.00 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

**Google Index Checker** tells you in bulk whether your **pages and domains are indexed by Google**. For each one it also returns the **title and snippet Google shows**. Paste hundreds of URLs, press Start, and get a clean indexed / not indexed report you can export.

### What does Google Index Checker do?

Give it page URLs, whole domains, or a mix. For each **page** it checks whether that URL appears in [Google](https://www.google.com) search. For each **domain** it checks whether any page of the site is indexed. Every indexed item comes back with the **title**, **snippet** and **URL as displayed in Google**, so you can also see *how* your page appears in search.

On the Apify platform you also get API access, scheduling, integrations (Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, Slack, webhooks) and run monitoring. You can re-check new content every day and get alerted when something drops out of the index.

### Why check Google indexing?

- **SEO audits**: find which pages from a sitemap or crawl never made it into Google.
- **New content monitoring**: confirm that fresh blog posts, product pages and landing pages get indexed, and how fast.
- **Deindexing alerts**: schedule daily checks on your money pages and get notified if one disappears.
- **Link building QA**: verify that the pages carrying your backlinks are actually indexed, since links on unindexed pages carry no value.
- **Client reporting & migrations**: prove index coverage before and after a site migration or redesign.

### How to check if a page is indexed by Google

1. Open the Actor and go to the **Input** tab.
2. Paste your URLs and/or domains into **URLs or domains**, one per line.
3. Click **Start**.
4. Open the **Output** tab, or download the report as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML.

### Input

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `urls` | array | Page URLs (`https://example.com/blog/post`) and/or domains (`example.com`). **Required.** |

```json
{
    "urls": [
        "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_scraping",
        "https://example.com/this-page-does-not-exist-123",
        "apify.com"
    ]
}
```

### Output

Each URL or domain becomes one row. You can download the dataset in various formats such as JSON, HTML, CSV, or Excel.

```json
[
    {
        "url": "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_scraping",
        "checkType": "page",
        "isIndexed": true,
        "indexedUrl": "https://en.wikipedia.org › wiki › Web_scraping",
        "indexedTitle": "Web scraping",
        "indexedSnippet": "Web scraping, web harvesting, or web data extraction is data scraping used for extracting data from websites.",
        "error": null,
        "checkedAt": "2026-09-25T16:22:05+00:00"
    },
    {
        "url": "https://example.com/this-page-does-not-exist-123",
        "checkType": "page",
        "isIndexed": false,
        "indexedUrl": null,
        "indexedTitle": null,
        "indexedSnippet": null,
        "error": null,
        "checkedAt": "2026-09-25T16:22:05+00:00"
    }
]
```

### Output data fields

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `url` | The URL or domain you entered. |
| `checkType` | `page` (exact URL check) or `domain` (whole-site check). |
| `isIndexed` | `true` = indexed, `false` = not indexed, `null` = couldn't be checked (see `error`). |
| `indexedUrl` | The URL as Google displays it in results. |
| `indexedTitle` | The title Google shows for the page. |
| `indexedSnippet` | The description snippet Google shows. |
| `error` | Why a check couldn't be completed, otherwise `null`. |
| `checkedAt` | When the check ran. |

### How many results will I get?

Exactly one row per URL or domain you enter. 500 URLs produce 500 rows. Remove duplicates before running; the Actor also skips exact duplicates automatically.

### Tips

- **Check a sitemap**: export your sitemap URLs into the input list to get a full index coverage report.
- **Schedule it**: run the same list weekly and compare `isIndexed` across runs to catch pages dropping out.
- **Retry unknowns**: if a row comes back with `isIndexed: null`, run just those URLs again.
- **Use exact URLs**: the check follows the URL you enter, so `https://example.com/page` and `https://example.com/page?ref=x` are different pages.

### FAQ

**How accurate is it?** It reflects what Google search returns at the moment of the check, which is the same thing you'd see searching for the page yourself. Very new pages can take days to appear.

**What does a section URL like `/blog` report?** A section URL counts as indexed if Google has that URL or pages under it. For an exact answer on a single article, enter the article's own URL.

**Why is `indexedUrl` shown with › separators?** That's how Google displays the address in its results, and it's returned exactly as shown.

**Does it need a Google Search Console account?** No. You can check any public URL, including competitors' pages.

**Is this legal?** The Actor only reads publicly available search results. You're responsible for how you use the data.

**Found a bug or need a custom feature?** Open an issue in the **Issues** tab. Custom solutions are available on request.

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

Pages to check (https://example.com/blog/post) and/or whole domains (example.com), one per line. A page checks whether that exact URL is indexed; a domain checks whether any page of that site is indexed.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "urls": [
    "https://apify.com/store",
    "apify.com",
    "https://example.com/this-page-does-not-exist-123"
  ]
}
