## Pricing

from $6.00 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

**Scrape upcoming Meetup events by keyword and city.** Get each event's date, venue and address, **attendee count** and capacity, price, and the **organizing group** with its member count and link. It's ready for community research, sponsorships and event marketing.

### What does Meetup Events Scraper do?

Meetup Events Scraper finds upcoming events on [Meetup](https://www.meetup.com/) for any keyword in any city, for example "python" in Berlin or "marketing" in New York. Each event becomes **one clean row** with event, venue and group details.

It runs on the Apify platform, so you also get API access, scheduled runs, integrations (Google Sheets, Slack, Zapier, Make, webhooks), proxy rotation and run monitoring.

### Why use Meetup Events Scraper?

- **Community sponsorships**: find active groups in your niche with their member counts, and sponsor the ones that matter.
- **Developer relations and community marketing**: map every tech meetup in your target cities.
- **Event and venue businesses**: see where groups meet and how many people attend.
- **Local discovery apps and newsletters**: build up-to-date event calendars.
- **Market research**: measure interest in a topic by city through event and attendee counts.

### How to scrape Meetup events

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Add **keywords** (`python`, `startups`) and **cities** (`New York`, `London`).
3. Optionally adjust the **radius** and **dates**.
4. Click **Start**. Events appear in the **Output** tab.
5. Export to CSV or Excel, or connect them to your tools.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `keywords` | Topics to search for. |
| `locations` | Cities to search in. Every keyword is searched in every city. |
| `radiusMiles` | Distance from the city centre. Default 25. |
| `dateFrom` / `dateTo` | Only events starting in this range. |
| `maxEventsPerSearch` | Maximum per keyword and city. Default 100. |

```json
{
    "keywords": ["python", "data science"],
    "locations": ["New York", "London", "Berlin"],
    "radiusMiles": 25,
    "maxEventsPerSearch": 100
}
```

### Output

Each event is one row. You can download the dataset in various formats such as JSON, HTML, CSV, or Excel.

```json
{
    "entityType": "event",
    "searchTerm": "marketing",
    "searchLocation": "New York, US",
    "eventId": "316463237",
    "title": "Media/Advertising Professionals Meet",
    "url": "https://www.meetup.com/ny-media-and-advertising-group/events/316463237/",
    "startsAt": "2026-10-01T18:00:00-04:00",
    "endsAt": "2026-10-01T20:00:00-04:00",
    "eventType": "Physical",
    "isOnline": false,
    "attendees": 60,
    "maxAttendees": 60,
    "isFree": true,
    "venueName": "Grey Bar and Restaurant",
    "address": "43 West 26th Street",
    "city": "New York",
    "state": "NY",
    "country": "US",
    "groupName": "NY Media and Advertising Group",
    "groupUrl": "https://www.meetup.com/ny-media-and-advertising-group",
    "groupMembers": 1373
}
```

#### Data fields

| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| `title`, `url`, `description`, `imageUrl` | The event |
| `startsAt`, `endsAt` | Start and end time, with timezone offset |
| `eventType`, `isOnline` | In person, online or hybrid |
| `attendees`, `maxAttendees` | RSVPs so far and capacity |
| `isFree`, `price`, `currency` | Entry fee |
| `venueName`, `address`, `city`, `state`, `country`, `latitude`, `longitude` | Location |
| `groupName`, `groupUrl`, `groupMembers`, `groupCity` | The organizing group |

#### Dataset views

- **Events**: what, when, where and how many people are going.
- **Groups (organizers)**: groups and their member counts.
- **Details**: addresses and descriptions.

### How many results will I get?

One row per upcoming event. A keyword in a big city typically returns 20–100 events. Add more keywords and cities for wider coverage.

### Tips

- **Find the biggest communities**: sort the Groups view by `groupMembers` and deduplicate on `groupUrl`.
- **Measure real interest**: `attendees` shows RSVPs, which is a better engagement signal than group size.
- **Weekly calendar**: schedule a weekly run with a 14-day date range.

### FAQ

**Is it legal to scrape Meetup?**
The actor collects only publicly listed event and group information. It doesn't collect attendee or member identities. You are responsible for how you use the data.

**Can I search online-only events?**
Not at the moment. Search results are based on a city. Online events hosted by groups in that city are still included.

**Something missing or broken?**
Open an issue in the **Issues** tab and we'll look at it quickly. Need a custom version? Get in touch through the same tab.
