## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

**Find podcasts on any topic and get their hosts' contact details.** Enter a keyword such as "marketing" or "SaaS founders" and get a list of active podcasts with the **owner's contact email**, other emails mentioned, **website**, **social links**, episode count, last episode date and release cadence. It's ready for guest pitching, sponsorship sales or PR outreach.

### What does Podcast Leads Scraper do?

Podcast Leads Scraper searches the [Apple Podcasts](https://podcasts.apple.com/) directory by topic, then reads each show to collect its public contact details and activity. Each podcast becomes **one lead row** with everything you need to decide whether to pitch and how to reach the host.

It runs on the Apify platform, so you also get API access, scheduled runs, integrations (Google Sheets, HubSpot via Zapier/Make, Slack, webhooks) and run monitoring.

### Why use Podcast Leads Scraper?

- **Get booked as a guest**: build a list of relevant shows in your niche with the host's email, and pitch yourself or your clients.
- **Sell sponsorships and ads**: find active shows by topic and size, then reach out to their owners.
- **PR and podcast booking agencies**: generate fresh, qualified lists for every client in minutes.
- **Skip dead shows**: filter out podcasts that haven't released an episode recently.
- **Research**: see how often shows publish and what their latest episodes cover before you reach out.

### How to find podcast guest opportunities

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Add **keywords** for your topics (`marketing`, `real estate investing`) or paste **Apple Podcasts links**.
3. Set **Active within (days)** to skip abandoned shows, and optionally require an email.
4. Click **Start**. Leads appear in the **Output** tab.
5. Export to CSV or Excel for your outreach tool, or send them straight to your CRM with an integration.

#### Dataset views

- **Leads**: contact details and key facts, ready for outreach.
- **Activity & content**: cadence, latest episodes and descriptions.

### How many results will I get?

One row per podcast. Each keyword returns up to about 200 shows before filters, so use several specific keywords for bigger lists (`b2b marketing`, `content marketing`, `marketing agency`). About 70% of active shows publish a contact email; the rest often list one in their descriptions (`otherEmails`) or on their website.

### Tips

- **Better pitches**: mention a recent episode title from `latestEpisodeTitles` in your first line.
- **Avoid dead leads**: keep `activeWithinDays` at 30–90.
- **Pick your tier**: big shows (`episodeCount` in the hundreds) are harder to land. Mid-size active shows usually reply more often.
- **Go international**: change `country` to search other Apple Podcasts stores.

### FAQ

**Where do the emails come from?**
Only from information podcasts publish publicly in their directory listings and show descriptions, specifically so that listeners, guests and partners can contact them.

**Is it legal to use these emails?**
The data is publicly published by the podcasts themselves. When you contact people, follow the email marketing rules that apply to you (such as CAN-SPAM or GDPR): send relevant, personal pitches and honour opt-outs.

**Why don't some podcasts have an email?**
Some hosting platforms hide the owner's email. Check `website` and `socialLinks` for those shows.

**Something missing or broken?**
Open an issue in the **Issues** tab and we'll look at it quickly. Need a custom version, such as guest-booking lists for a specific niche? Get in touch through the same tab.
