## Pricing

from $7.00 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does Seobility Backlink Checker do?

**Seobility Backlink Checker** analyzes the **backlink profile** of any domain or single URL. For each target it returns the **total number of backlinks**, the number of **referring domains**, a **link power** score, and a list of the individual **linking pages** — including the **anchor text** and whether each link is **follow or nofollow**. No Seobility account or login is required.

Run it on demand or on a schedule, pull results through the Apify API, and pipe them straight into your own SEO dashboards, spreadsheets, or automations.

### Why use Backlink Checker?

- **Audit your own link profile** — see who links to you and with what anchor text.
- **Spy on competitors** — analyze any domain's backlinks to find link-building opportunities.
- **Prospect for outreach** — build lists of referring domains worth contacting.
- **Monitor over time** — schedule runs and track new or lost links.

### How to use it

1. Add one or more **domains or URLs** to the *Targets* field.
2. Choose `domain` (whole site) or `url` (single page) per target.
3. (Optional) Cap the number of backlinks per target to control cost.
4. Click **Start** and download the results as JSON, CSV, Excel, or HTML.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|-------|-------------|
| `targets` | List of `{ "target": "example.com", "type": "domain" }` entries. `type` is `domain` or `url`. |
| `maxBacklinksPerTarget` | Cap on individual backlink rows per target. `0` = no limit. |
| `outputBacklinks` | Push one row per backlink. Turn off for summary-only. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Residential proxy (recommended, on by default). |

```json
{
  "targets": [
    { "target": "apify.com", "type": "domain" },
    { "target": "https://example.com/blog", "type": "url" }
  ],
  "maxBacklinksPerTarget": 100
}
```

### Output

Results are pushed as flat rows. Each target produces one **summary** row plus one row per **backlink**.

```json
{
  "entityType": "backlink_summary",
  "target": "apify.com",
  "targetType": "domain",
  "backlinksTotal": 12840,
  "referringDomains": 1120,
  "domainPopularity": 71,
  "scrapedAt": "2026-07-30T18:00:00Z"
}
```

```json
{
  "entityType": "backlink",
  "target": "apify.com",
  "sourceUrl": "https://someblog.com/best-scrapers",
  "sourceDomain": "someblog.com",
  "anchorText": "Apify",
  "linkType": "follow",
  "targetUrl": "apify.com",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-07-30T18:00:00Z"
}
```

You can download the dataset in various formats such as JSON, HTML, CSV, or Excel. The Output tab includes a **Backlinks** view pre-filtered to the linking pages.

### Data fields

| Field | Description |
|-------|-------------|
| `backlinksTotal` | Total backlinks reported for the target |
| `referringDomains` | Number of unique linking domains |
| `domainPopularity` | Link power / strength score |
| `sourceUrl` | The page that contains the backlink |
| `sourceDomain` | Domain of the linking page |
| `anchorText` | Clickable text of the link |
| `linkType` | `follow` or `nofollow` |

### Cost estimation

Billing is per result row. A summary-only run is 1 row per target; a full run is `1 + backlinks` rows per target. Use `maxBacklinksPerTarget` to keep runs predictable.

### FAQ & disclaimers

- **Is this legal?** The actor collects publicly available backlink data. You are responsible for complying with applicable terms and laws.
- **Some fields are empty?** Coverage depends on what the source reports for a given target; very new or very small sites may return few backlinks.
- **Support** — found an issue or want a new field? Open a ticket in the Issues tab.

# Actor input Schema

## `targets` (type: `array`):

One entry per domain or URL. Set "type" to "domain" to analyze the whole domain, or "url" to analyze a single page.

## `maxBacklinksPerTarget` (type: `integer`):

Cap the number of individual backlink rows pushed per target. 0 = no limit.

## `outputBacklinks` (type: `boolean`):

Push one row per backlink (source page, anchor text, follow/nofollow). Turn off to only get the summary row per target.

## `debugSaveHtml` (type: `boolean`):

Save the raw result page for the first target to the key-value store. Useful to verify extraction. Keep on for the first run.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Residential proxy is required to reach the source reliably.
