## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Tanqeeb Jobs Scraper

Collects job ads from [Tanqeeb](https://www.tanqeeb.com), a Gulf/MENA board that syndicates listings
from Naukri Gulf, Bayt, Elm and employer sites. 18 country sites, one record schema.

**~$1.20 per 1,000 jobs.** 20 results per page, no login, no account.

### What you get

One row per ad: title, company (with a confidential flag), city, country, salary when published,
employment type, category, industry, experience band, workplace, posting-age text, description,
ad id, original URL and apply URL.

### Input

| Field | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| `country` | `saudi` | `saudi`, `uae`, `egypt`, `qatar`, `kuwait`, `oman`, `bahrain`, `jordan`, `lebanon`, `morocco`, `algerie`, `tunisia`, `iraq`, `palestine`, `libya`, `sudan`, `yemen`, `syria` |
| `keyword` | empty | Job title or field: `Engineer`, `Accountant`, `sales`. Empty = the country's whole feed. |
| `maxItems` | 200 | Hard cap, 10,000 maximum per run |
| `orderBy` | `most_recent` | or `relevance` |
| `translate` | `true` | See below |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Apify proxy | Only needed if you are rate-limited |

### Coverage and limits

- 20 ads per page; Tanqeeb caps a query at 500 pages (10,000 ads). For deep runs, split by keyword
  or run per country and dedupe on `adId`.
- Salary is published on roughly 1 ad in 10; the rest are `null`, which reflects the board, not the
  scrape.
- `postedText` is the site's own string (`15 October 2026`, `Monday`, `15 hours ago`) — relative on
  fresh ads. Use the detail page if you need an exact ISO timestamp.
- Syndicated ads appear under multiple ad ids (different `source` values): dedupe by title +
  company + city if you need unique vacancies.

### Translation

The board sits behind AWS WAF Bot Control, which refuses datacenter IPs even after the JS challenge.
Runs therefore go through Google's crawler path (`<country>-tanqeeb-com.translate.goog`), so text comes
back machine-translated to English by default. `url` is the translate.goog link; `originalUrl` is the
canonical tanqeeb page. Set `translate: false` to hit the domains directly — cheaper prose, but a
datacenter IP will usually get 403.

### Pricing

Pay per event: $0.0012 per job row, plus a $0.0001 actor start. Platform usage is included, so a
1,000-job run bills about $1.20 and nothing else.

### Example

```json
{ "country": "uae", "keyword": "Accountant", "maxItems": 500, "orderBy": "most_recent" }
```

### Notes on use

Job ads are public. Tanqeeb's robots rules allow the path-style search and pagination used here, and
disallow a few query-parameter forms — this actor stays inside the allowed shape. Cite Tanqeeb as the
source when republishing in bulk.

# Actor input Schema

## `country` (type: `string`):

  "maxItems": 200,
  "orderBy": "most_recent",
  "proxyConfiguration": {
