## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Mercari US Sold & Active Listings Scraper

**Find out what things actually sell for on Mercari.** Search Mercari US and get sold listings (price comps) or items for sale right now, one row per listing, plus a ready-made **sold-price summary** for every search: average, median, min and max.

Fast and reliable: it uses the same search call the mercari.com website makes, so a 100-item search finishes in seconds. **No login, no cookies, no browser setup from you.**

### What you get per listing

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `title`, `url`, `itemId` | The listing and its Mercari link |
| `status` | `sold` or `on_sale` |
| `price` | Sold price (sold listings) or current asking price |
| `originalPrice` / `priceDropPct` | First listed price and how far the seller dropped it |
| `condition` | New, Like new, Good, Fair or Poor |
| `brand`, `category`, `categoryPath` | e.g. `Electronics > Video games & consoles > Games` |
| `size`, `color` | When the seller set them |
| `listedAt` | When the item was listed |
| `imageUrl`, `sellerId` | First photo and seller id |

### Sold-price summary

Every search also writes a `SEARCH_SUMMARY` record:

```json
{
  "source": "pokemon booster box",
  "itemsScraped": 50,
  "totalMatchesOnMercari": 662,
  "soldPrices": { "count": 50, "avg": 82.58, "median": 69, "min": 4.78, "max": 250 },
  "activePrices": { "count": 0, "avg": null, "median": null, "min": null, "max": null }
}
```

### Input

```json
{
  "queries": ["nintendo switch oled", "pokemon booster box"],
  "status": "sold",
  "maxItemsPerSearch": 50,
  "sortBy": "auto",
  "minPrice": 20,
  "maxPrice": 300,
  "conditions": ["new", "like_new"]
}
```

- `queries`: keywords to search on Mercari US.
- `status`: `sold` (default, price comps), `on_sale` (for sale now) or `all`.
- `maxItemsPerSearch`: listings per search. `0` = as many as Mercari shows.
- `sortBy`: `auto` (recently sold for sold listings, best match otherwise), `recently_sold`, `newest`, `price_low`, `price_high`, `best_match`.
- `minPrice` / `maxPrice`: price range in USD.
- `conditions`: any of `new`, `like_new`, `good`, `fair`, `poor`.
- `searchUrls` (advanced): paste mercari.com search URLs. Keyword, status and sort are read from the URL.

#### Example row

```json
{
  "source": "nintendo switch",
  "itemId": "m43857781252",
  "url": "https://www.mercari.com/us/item/m43857781252/",
  "title": "Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller",
  "status": "sold",
  "price": 50,
  "originalPrice": 62.5,
  "priceDropPct": 20,
  "condition": "Like new",
  "brand": "Nintendo",
  "category": "Accessories",
  "categoryPath": "Electronics > Video games & consoles > Accessories",
  "size": null,
  "listedAt": "2026-10-09T21:29:34+00:00",
  "imageUrl": "https://u-mercari-images.mercdn.net/photos/m43857781252_1.jpg",
  "sellerId": 314654686
}
```

### Use cases

- **Reseller price comps**: what did this item really sell for, in this condition, lately?
- **Sourcing**: compare the sold median with items for sale now to spot underpriced listings
- **Listing your own items**: price at the sold median instead of guessing
- **Price drop tracking**: `priceDropPct` shows how much sellers had to cut to sell
- **Market research**: export a category's sold history to see what moves and at what price

### FAQ

**How many results can I get?**
Mercari shows up to about 1,000 listings per search (about 2,000 for some sold searches).
For more, split one search into price ranges with `minPrice` / `maxPrice`.

**Is this Mercari Japan?**
No, this is **Mercari US** (mercari.com).

**Do I need a Mercari account?**
No. It uses the same guest access any logged-out visitor gets.

**Does it get the exact date an item sold?**
Mercari doesn't show sold dates publicly. Sorting by `recently_sold` returns the most recent sales first, and `listedAt` gives the listing date.

**Is this allowed?**
It reads only public search results, the same any visitor sees. It never logs in and never
touches account, order or buyer data. Respect Mercari's terms and your local laws.

### Use it from an AI agent

This Actor is available as a tool over Apify's MCP server, so an AI agent (Claude, ChatGPT or
